That is what exactly is happening in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga right now as the chapter 260 spoilers are circulating online. This chapter is said to conclude on a massive cliffhanger with a ghostly figure appearing out of the blue, possessing an uncanny resemblance to Gojo Satoru.
At the end of the chapter, the narrator states that Sukuna saw “the one he buried with his own hands, the ghost of the strongest.” Furthermore, the narrator mentions “Those eyes cannot be mistaken.”
Now, when you put these statements together and match them up with the mysterious figure, there is no doubt that the person the narrator is referring to is none other than the Six Eyes prodigy Gojo Satoru.
However, there is one complication that needs to be addressed here. How did Gojo resurrect back from death? Now, that we know the person at the last panel is the legend himself, let’s discuss the possible ways of how we could have returned and what the future holds for the story of JJK.
Did Gojo Come Back From the Dead?
As the fans have pointed out and made quite clear, I also believe there are only two ways to go from here for Gege Akutami. This situation is either going to be Sukuna’s hallucination or Gojo Satoru is truly back well and alive; there is no in-between.
The first option could work suitably for the story as a weakened Sukuna starts to hallucinate at the brink of his life and witnesses the ghost of the man who almost killed him. If you remember well, Sukuna stated how Gojo was incredibly strong and wouldn’t forget him until his death during Gojo’s death in chapter 236. Now, this lines up right, isn’t it?
Well, the second option is what the fans were (coping and) hoping for which is to bring back the white-haired sorcerer back from the dead. I mean, this isn’t something new to him as he already achieved this feat once after his battle against Toji Fushiguro.
There have been countless theories spammed by fans on X and Reddit, such as Gojo sacrificing his six eyes to resurrect, unlock the final level of reverse cursed technique, etc. So, upon seeing this, it made me realize that the mangaka can bring him back with a satisfactory explanation, and I cannot wait to read chapter 261 to get answers to my queries.
So, Is Gojo Currently Alive in Jujutsu Kaisen?
In chapter 248 of the manga, it came to light that Ui Ui and Kirara Hoshi had successfully retrieved Gojo’s body and carried it to Shoko. This is also one of the vital moments in the story as it sowed the seeds for his second coming in the story.
This was the last time his current state was mentioned in the story, followed by his possible reentry into the battlefield in chapter 260. However, we need to wait for the release of chapter 261 to know for sure whether he is back or if it was just the King of Curses hallucinating, losing to Itadori’s Black Flashes.
Thus, at this moment, Gojo is confirmed to be dead in the Jujutsu Kaisen series.
