Scan QR Codes using Snap Camera
You need to have the Snap camera tab open on Snapchat to scan QR codes on the app. Here is how it works.
- On Snapchat, go to the camera tab using the bottom navigation bar.
- If the camera is facing towards you, then tap the switch camera icon at the top right.
- Now point the camera towards the QR code that you want to scan.
- Focus on the Snapcode for a few seconds till you get a notification at the top.
- Here, tap on Open to open the link in the QR code. Snapchat will now take you to the relevant page on the app.
Scan Snapchat Snapcode from Gallery
Snapchat allows you to scan locally saved Snapcode from your phone’s gallery. However, the feature was recently moved from settings to the Add friend section. Follow these steps to scan it on the Snapchat app.
- On Snapchat, go to the Spotlight tab.
- Here, tap on the Add friend icon at the top right.
- Then, hit the Snapcode icon on the right side of the search bar.
- This will show all the photos from your gallery. Tap on the photo with the Snapcode to open it inside the app.
The app will scan the Snapcode from the image, and open it directly. If it fails to do so, then it might not be able to read the Snapcode and you need to take a less blurry photo.
