Acheron is a 5-star DPS Nihility character with the Lightning damage type. She is an Emanator of Nihility, claiming to be a Galaxy Ranger. She walks the cosmos alone, only accompanied by her long sword, which she flicks out like a lashing lightning. Described as aloof and taciturn, she mainly strikes with her scabbard, never drawing her Sword free.

Acheron is a very mysterious character and we barely know anything about her even though she has featured a lot in the Honkai Star Rail 2.0 and 2.1 trailblazing missions. We only know that she is after the Watchmakers Legacy, like every other party in Penacony, but what drives her is still unknown.

HSR Acheron Release Date and Banner

Acheron Kit and Best Cycle Rotation (At Max Level)

Acheron’s kit may look very complicated, but it is quite simple and extremely overpowered. Her kit allows her to reduce enemy defenses, break toughness irrespective of the weakness type, and deal massive AoE and Single-target damage, all in the same turn. Let’s look closer at her kit to know how to play Acheron’s best build correctly.

  • Trilateral Wiltcross (Basic Attack): Deals single target Lightning damage equal to 130% of Acheron’s Attack.
  • Octobolt Flash (Skill): Inflicts 1 stack of Crimson Knot on a single target and deals Blast Lightning damage equal to 200% of Acheron’s attack on the main target, and 75% of her Attack to the adjacent enemies. Additionally, gains 1 point of Slashed Dream.
  • Slashed Dream Cries in Red (Ultimate): Unleashes Rainblade, dealing single target Lightning damage equal 28.8% of Acheron’s Attack, and removes up to 3 stacks of Crimson Knot from the target. When Crimson Knot is removed, deals AoE Lightning Damage equal to 18% of Acheron’s attack, with the damage multiplier for this attack increasing by 18% for each Crimson Knot stack removed. After unleashing Rainblade 3 times, immediately unleashes Stygian Resurge, dealing AoE Lightning Damage equal to 144% of Acheron’s attack, removing all Crimson Knot Stacks. Crimson Knot are not inflicted during the Ultimate.
Acheron Ultimate Honkai Star Rail
  • Atop Rainleaf Hangs Oneness (Talent): Unleashes her Ultimate when Slashed Dream reaches 9 points. During the Ultimate, enemies’ toughness depletes irrespective of weakness type and reduces All Type Resistant of enemies by 25% until the end of the Ultimate. When any unit inflicts debuffs on another unit, Acheron gains 1 point of Slashed Dream and inflicts Crimson Knot on the enemy target and if the ally debuffs multiple enemies, then the Crimson Knot stack will be inflicted on the enemy with the most Crimson Knot stacks. This effect can be triggered one time per action. Additionally, when Acheron is on the Battlefield, and after an enemy target leaves or is defeated, their Crimson Knot stacks will be transferred to the enemy target with the current most stacks.
  • Quadrivalent Ascendance (Technique): After entering the battle, Acheron gains 2 points of Slashed Dream, deals AoE Lightning damage equal to 80% of Acheron’s attack, and inflicts 2 stacks of Crimson Knot on a single random enemy. If the enemy has Red Karma, they will be immediately defeated and will not enter combat. The Technique immediately attacks the enemy, and if the enemy is not hit, the Technique point is not spent.

Acheron’s kit has two main parts, Crimson Knots and Slashed Dream. As Acheron doesn’t have energy, she uses her Ultimate when the Slashed Dream count reaches 9. Crimson Knots are inflicted on enemies and enemies with Crimson Knots take increased Ultimate damage from her. Acheron can gain Slashed Dream and inflict Crimson Knot stacks by using her Skill, or when any ally debuffs an enemy. Her Ascension abilities also allow her to gain some at the start of the battle.

Now, her Ultimate deals Single-target lightning damage on an enemy. If that enemy is marked with Crimson Knot, Acheron does an AoE lightning attack. This continues 3 times and then all the Crimson Knots are consumed and Acheron unleashes a much stronger AoE lightning attack. Players can choose the main target during her Ultimate for all three consecutive attacks.

Her Talent is extremely broken, as it reduces All Type Resistance of enemies by 25% when Acheron uses her Ultimate, while also allowing her to deal Toughness damage irrespective of the enemy weakness type (similar to Xueyi). The ideal way to play Acheron is to constantly use her Skill to inflict Crimson Knot and gain Slashed Dream while dealing good damage, and then use her Ultimate when it is unlocked.

Also, her Technique can instantly kill enemies without entering combat. This ability also works in the Simulated Universe, only elite enemies, bosses, or trotters are safe from the insta-kill mechanic. Other than that, the technique can be used multiple times to install kill a normal group of enemies, outside combat.

Acheron’s kit is extremely broken, and it gets more overpowered with the correct Relics, Planar Ornaments, and stats. Here are the best Relics, Planar Ornaments, and Stats for the best Acheron build.

Best Relics for Acheron in HSR

Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters

  • 4-piece Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters (Best for Acheron)
  • 4-piece Band of Sizzling Thunder
  • 4-piece Genius of Brilliant Stars

The 4-piece Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters is the best relic set for Acheron as it significantly increases her damage to debuffed enemies. Other than that, the 4-piece Band of Sizzling Thunder is also a good pick as it increases Lightning damage and the damage of her Skill attacks.

The 4-piece Genius of Brilliant Stars is among the best relic sets for any DPS as the Defense ignores the percentage of the 4-piece is extremely useful. This set is particularly good for Swarm Disaster.

Best Planar Ornaments for Acheron in HSR

Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm Planar Ornament set
  • 2-piece Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm (Best for Acheron)
  • 2-piece Rutilant Arena
  • 2-piece Inert Salsotto

The 2-piece Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm is perfect for Acheron, as it increases the wearer’s Crit Rate by 12% when at least one other ally follows the same path. Acheron already needs other Nihility characters in the team, so this planar ornament is perfect for her.

Rutilant Arena is the best alternative Planar Ornament set for Acheron. It increases her Crit Rate by 8% and Skill Damage by 20%. The 2-piece Inert Salsotto is another good choice for Acheron, increasing her Crit Rate and Ultimate Damage.

Main and Sub Stats for Acheron

HeadHP / Crit Damage = Crit Rate > Attack % > Speed
HandsAttack / Crit Damage = Crit Rate > Attack % > Speed
BodyCrit Damage = Crit Rate / Crit Damage = Crit Rate > Attack % > Speed

Link RopeAttack % / Crit Damage = Crit Rate > Attack % > Speed
Acheron Main and Sub Stats for his Relics and Planar Ornaments

When it comes to the main and sub-stats for Acheron, simply focus on stacking as much Crit Rate, Crit Damage, and Attack % as possible. Try to hit a ratio of 70% Crit Rate and 170% Crit Damage with the stats. Other than that, use a Speed Boost to hit the Speed breakpoints, as the more turns Acheron has, the quicker her Ultimate recharges.

Best Light Cones for Acheron Build in HSR

Best Light Cones for Acheron

  • Along the Passing Shore (Signature Light Cone)
  • Good Night and Sleep Well (Best alternative)
  • We Will Meet Again (Best F2P option)

Acheron’s best Light Cone is Along the Passing Shore, which is her signature Light Cone. Other than that, Good Night and Sleep Well is the best 4-star Light Cone for Acheron, as it increases her damage based on the debuff inflicted on the enemies. We Will Meet Again is one of the new Forgotten Hall Light Cones and it is a good F2P option at superimposition 5.

HSR Acheron Eidolons

Acheron Eidolons honkai star rail
  • Silenced Sky Spake Sooth (E1): Crit Rate increases by 18% when dealing Damage to debuffed enemies.
  • Mute Thunder in Still Tempest (E2): The Nihility character requirement for the highest value of The Abyss trace is reduced by 1. Acheron gains 1 point of Slashed Dream at the beginning of her turn. Additionally, inflict 1 stack of Crimson Knot on an enemy with most Crimson Knot.
  • Frost Bites in Death (E3): Ultimate Level + 2, up to Level 15 max, Basic Attack Level + 1, up to Level 10 max.
  • Shrined Fire for Mirrored Soul (E4): Inflict Ultimate Damage vulnerability to all enemies, increasing the Ultimate Damage taken by enemies by 12% for 2 turns, when using the Ultimate.
  • Strewn Souls on Erased Earths (E5): Skill Level + 2, up to Level 15 max, Talent Level + 2, up to Level 15 max.
  • Apocalypse, the Emancipator (E6): Crit Damage of the Ultimate increases by 60%, and her Skill and Basic Attack damage are also considered Ultimate Damage.

Acheron’s Eidolons are extremely broken and make her kit even more overpowered. Her E1 gives her a straight 18% Crit Rate increase when dealing damage to debuffed enemies. Acheron’s E2 reduces the Nihility character requirement for her trace and allows her to gain 1 stack of Slashed Dream and inflict Crimson Knot at the beginning of her turn. Her E4 makes enemies vulnerable to Ultimate damage while her E6 increases her Crit Damage and Ultimate Damage by 60% while making her Skill and Basic Attack damage be considered as Ultimate Damage.

Overall, an E6 Acheron is going to be the most broken DPS in Honkai Star Rail, and no other DPS units, likely even Jingliu, may get close to her. However, her kit is broken by itself and doesn’t need any investment in her Eidolons.

Expected Acheron Traces and Ascension Abilities in HSR

Ascension Abilities:

  • Red Ogre (Ascension 2): Gains 4 points of Slashed Dream and applies 4 stacks of Crimson Knot to a random enemy at the start of the battle.
  • The Abyss (Ascension 4): Increases Acheron’s Basic Attack, Skill, and Ultimate damage to 115%/160% of the original Damage, when there are 1/2 other Nihility characters in the team.
  • Thunder Core (Ascension 6): When Rainblade from Acheron’s Ultimate hits enemy targets with Crimson Knot, her damage increases by 30% (max 3 stacks) for 3 turns. Additionally, deals 6 hits of Damage when Stygian Resurge is triggered, every hit dealing single target Lightning damage equal to 25% of her Attack and the damage is viewed as Ultimate Damage.

Stat Boosts:

  • Crit Damage Boost: 24%
  • Attack Boost: 28%
  • Lightning Damage Boost: 8%

When it comes to Acheron’s ascension abilities, her A2, A4, and A6 are must-haves. Her A2 gives her additional stacks of Slashed Dream and inflicts Crimson Knot on enemies, allowing her to use the Ultimate from the get-go. The A4 ability increases her Basic Attack, Skill, and Ultimate Damage to 160% of the original damage when your team has two other Nihility characters. Acheron’s A6 ability makes enemies inflicted with Crimson Knot take increased damage.

Best Teams for Acheron

Acheron’s best teams will feature at least one other Nihility character, to best utilize her A4 ability. Her best team will be alongside Black Swan, Sampo, and Fu Xuan. She is not a DoT character, however, she banks a lot on debuffs and DoTs are debuffs.

So, Black Swan is one of the best Nihility DPS partners for Acheron as she can constantly apply debuffs, while also dealing insane DoT damage. Sampo works extremely well with Black Swan, especially if you have his Eidolons, and Fu Xuan is a solid Sustain for any team.

Other than that, you can also use Pela, Bronya, Guinaifen, Ruan Mei, or Silver Wolf next to Acheron. Tingyun can also work with Acheron, but the energy recharge of Tingyun’s Ultimate will be wasted on Acheron.

Should You Pull for Acheron in Honkai Star Rail?

Yes, if you have Stellar Jades, make sure to do all you can to pull for Acheron as she is going to be one of the best, if not the best, DPS characters in the game. She can do massive single target, AoE, and Blast damage while breaking Toughness irrespective of the enemy weakness type, and her Technique can insta-kill enemies without entering combat. Acheron is one hundred percent a must-pull. Share your thoughts on Acheron in the comment section and tell us if you are going to pull her or not.
