The competition in the fitness wearable segment is heating up with each passing day, and the latest one to enter the fray is GOQii. The California-based company has today launched the Vital fitness band in India which comes with dedicated sensors to track body vitals such as blood pressure and heart rate.

The GOQii Vital fitness band has been designed to help people suffering from medical conditions such as hypertension and cardiac ailments. The GOQii Vital will be available as an Amazon-exclusive device starting July 16 carrying a price tag of Rs. 3,499, and will also come bundled with a 3-month free subscription to GOQii’s fitness coaching plan.

“The new GOQii Vital band is designed to help monitor key vital stats like Blood Pressure and Heart Rate. It can report both Systolic and Diastolic pressure with a good degree of accuracy”, the company said in a statement. The GOQii wearable comes equipped with a color OLED display which also displays other health stats such as step count, the number of calories burnt during exercise, distance walked and sleep count among others.

Moreover, the device also comes with a feature called GOQii Play, which gives users access to content from health experts, certified professionals and fitness trainers, all of which can be accessed from the companion GOQii app. Also, live health-focused videos will be broadcasted during specific time slots each day to help users stick to a regimen and interact with experts.

Moreover, there is also a Sports Mode, which provides details about body metrics during activities such as running, cycling and intensive workouts among others. The ability to send notifications from a connected smartphone, set alarms, etc. are also on the table. The company claims that the Vital fitness band is waterproof and can deliver a battery back-up of up to seven days.
