Fortnitemares 2026: Release Date, Leaked Collabs, and More

Fortnitemares is overlapping with Chapter 7 Season 4 Override this year, and Epic Games has a lot in store for players during the spooky season. Much like every year, the Halloween update ushers in new content, which includes skins, loot pool/map changes, and of course, the all-important collabs. That said, here’s everything we know so far about Fortnitemares 2026, including its release date, collabs, gameplay additions, and leaks.

Fortnitemares 2026 Release Date Confirmed

Epic Games has confirmed that Fortnitemares 2026 is officially releasing on October 1, 2026. It goes live once the downtime for the Fortnite update 42.30 ends. They even shared the first Fortnitemares 2026 teaser, with a caption that reads, “Nitemares really do come true – 10.1.”

The image does not reveal much, but given its color scheme, it all but confirms that Geno is going to be the star villain of Fortnitemares 2026. That said, the image features the word “Fortnitemares” written in bold, with text below it that reads, “The Game Is Cursed”.

Fortnitemares 2026 Game Modes

Horde Rush LTM is returning to Fortnitemares 2026. It features Sprites, Console Overrides, and even Fortnite Override Loot Hacks. It is essentially Horde Rush + Override combined, combining the best of both experiences.

We can also expect to see bosses such as Shogun X, Cerberus, Ultima Carver, and Kado Thorne featured in Horde Rush. Geno is also going to be present as he’s central to the storyline this time around.

The Fortnite loot pool is also going to be different from the usual Battle Royale/Zero Build modes. Expect to see items and weapons such as Witch Broom, Pumpkin Launcher, Howler Claws, Slapperoni Pizza, Kneecapper, and a lot more. We may even get to see the Finger Guns in Fortnite being unvaulted for Fortnitemares 2026.

Every Leaked Fortnitemares 2026 Collab

Five Nights at Freddy’s (FNAF)

A massive FNAF Fortnitemares 2026 collab is slated to go live next month. This stems from the fact that a FNAF collab was leaked a while ago for Rocket League. With Epic Games owning both games, a collab with Fortnite is all but guaranteed. We also have some in-game teasers in Fortnite, but nothing that ties FNAF to it directly.

Nevertheless, we expect at least two Sprites, codenamed “Hook” and “Mimic,” to be part of the FNAF Fortnitemares 2026 collab. The Arcade Landmark that’s located near The Battlewoods on the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 map is likely going to be the staging ground for FNAF. We’re also getting an SUV; leaks suggest it could be Arnold’S Van featured as a vehicle skin in-game.

We also have leaks stating that there is going to be a FNAF Fortnite Admin Panel Lobby Hack Code added for the Fortnitemares 2026 collab. Unfortunately, there’s no word on skins yet, but we could see Freddy Fazbear, Chica the Chicken, and Bonnie the Bunny featured in the Fortnite Item Shop.

Obsession

An Obsession collab for Fortnitemares 2026 has very likely been planned. This stems from the fact that we had a Fortnite Obsession collab back in Chapter 7 Season 3, promoting Sprites. It was a short video, but enough to get fans excited and get the hype train moving.

Epic Games may have also hinted at the collab in the recent Fortnitemares 2026 teaser, but we can’t say for certain. In a frame that lasts a second, we see someone tapped to a wall. This feels like an indirect hint towards the scene from the film, where Nikki tapes a door using duct tape.

Earlier this year, we also got an incredible Fortnite Obsession concept featuring Nikki Freeman that fans went gaga over. Epic Games could easily license Nikki’s likeness and add her as a skin to the Fortnite Item Shop. It could even rival the popularity of the recently added Ironmouse skin in Fortnite. To be fair, who wouldn’t want to cosplay as ‘Freaky Nikki’ in Fortnite?

League Of Legends

League of Legends is returning in a huge way to Fortnite, more specifically for Fortnitemares 2026. As part of the Halloween Event, a “Phase Dash Medallion” and “Phase Dash Sprite” are to be added to the game. During the event, all water on the map turns purple and grants temporary “Phase Dash,” possibly allowing players to get a speed boost.

Ahri‘s signature weapon, called “Orb of Illusion,” is also slated to be added to the loot pool. Its abilities are as follows:

• Throws a homing orb that returns after 1.25s
• Deals 60 damage on the way out and 60 directly to health through shields on return (120 total potential)
• Has ~60m range, 2s throw cooldown and 5s recharge
• Instantly heals 15HP and has a 15s cooldown
• Grants a speed boost and 3 midair dash charges
• Press jump while airborne to dash ~7.25m
• Dashes have a 0.75s cooldown and no fall damage
• Eliminations with the item restore 10 HP/Shield

Keep in mind that the stats of the weapons are slated to change when released, but this gives us a good idea of what to expect. As part of the Fortnitemares LoL collab, we could also see Ahri added as a skin. It seems that Jinx and Vi were not the first and last League of Legends characters destined to come to Fortnite.

Black Clover

Black Clover is one of those anime that you need to watch if you haven’t. The plot is ever so simple: A boy born without magic in a world where magic is quite literally everything, and yet it’s filled with heart and soul. To that end, a Black Clover collab has been leaked for Rocket League.

This means that we are getting a collab for Fortnitemares 2026 as well. Expect skins for characters such as Asta, Noelle, and Yuno to be featured in the Item Shop. Three Rocket League Decals should also be coming to Fortnite.

Some leaks suggest Asta’s skin also features a demonic style for Fortnitemares 2026. This is perfect for the occasion and is going to fit well with the theme. We could see the entire list of cosmetics revealed early next week, as Black Clover Season 2 premieres on October 3, 2026.

Slender Man

Eric Knudsen created Slender Man in June 2009, and it has been spreading fear in people’s hearts for nearly two decades. This entity has been adapted into several films and is finally (very possibly) being added as a collab for Fortnitemares 2026. In the recent Fortnite teaser, we see a tree with tendrils that move independently.

Based on speculation, the consensus is that this is a direct teaser for Slender Man. This is owing to the fact that the scene is set in a dark forest, which is where the entity resides. Even if this Fortnitemares 2026 collab is not Slender Man, it’s still bound to be something spooky.

Freddy Krueger

Freddy Krueger has been haunting dreams since 1984 after debuting in the film “A Nightmare on Elm Street.” Since then, the character has been featured in several films across the horror genre and has remained as popular as ever. There’s even a parody version of Freddy Krueger called “Scary Terry,” which was shown in an episode of Rick and Morty.

Returning to Fortnitemares 2026, there’s a high chance that we are getting a collab with Freddy Krueger, and Epic Games just hinted at it in the most iconic manner. In the recent teaser for “Fortober,” they recreated the famous “wall-pushing scene” from the original film, showcasing a palm pushing out of a boiler from within. Since Freddy Krueger can push through walls, this is a confirmation without any doubt.

The Predator Franchise

The Predator skin was introduced to Fortnite in Chapter 2 Season 5 and was perhaps one of the most popular collabs to date. This hunter goes to any extent to ensure its prey “was” alive, and it may be returning for Fortnitemares 2026. In the recent teaser, we see a three-pointed targeting laser sight pointed at a tree, and it belongs to no other weapons but the Plasmacaster.

Since Epic Games chose to showcase the weapon being aimed at something, rather than featuring the Predator itself, we assume the Plasmacaster is going to be featured as a weapon. Considering that it shoots plasma rounds, it could be added as a Mythic weapon in Fortnite.

The Exorcist

One of the frames in the new Fortnitemares 2026 teaser shows a negative image of a character that resembles Regan MacNeil’s iconic look from the 1973 film, The Exorcist. We are not too sure about this Fortnitemares 2026 collab, but it does fit the occasion.

After all, seeing how Epic Games is going for a mature theme for Fortnitemares 2026, it would make sense for them to pivot towards more frightening characters. If the skin is added to the Fortnite Item Shop, it could be age-restricted.

99 Nights in the Forest

The Fortnitemares 2026 collab with 99 Nights in the Forest was confirmed at the start of Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4. After making it huge as a Roblox experience, 99 Nights in the Forest is now trying to find a cozy spot in Fortnite.

The Wendigo skin was already showcased in the official trailer, but Epic Games could be creating a different version of the character, as seen in the recent Fortnitemares 2026 teasers. Its design is very similar to the “Things in the Woods,” a creature that’s often summoned by Mother Ostankya in Total War: Warhammer III.

On that note, taking into account the collab was announced right at the beginning of Override, expect it to be released during the first week of Fortnitemares 2026. Hopefully, it’s as scary as shown in the image above.

Ember and Blade

Ember and Blade are coming to the Epic Games Store soon, which means it is going to be part of the Fortnitemares 2026 collab. This dark fantasy, action-roguelike game resonates with a large community, which makes it very popular. It takes a lot of inspiration from games like Hades and features similar gameplay mechanics.

The characters that should be coming to the Fortnite Item Shop are Fenrix Haven and Ariella. We could also see Copel and Haniel featured as skins, but maybe later this year, when wave two releases. This would allow Epic Games to test if the first Ember and Blade x Fortnitemares 26 collab was successful.

On that note, much like the Arknights Endfield Perlica skin in Fortnite, which is obtainable by purchasing the game on EGS, Ember and Blade skins could follow suit. We should get more information about the official Fortnitemares 2026 collab next week.

Hello Neighbor

In July of this year, Epic Games publicly messaged Alex Nichiporchikon, CEO of tinyBuild, on the social media platform X. The text hinted at a possible collab, which could be coming for Fortnitemares 2026. While there are speculations that this collab has been confirmed, there’s nothing to show for it.

Aside from the text exchanges earlier this year, nothing else was mentioned publicly. If we are getting Hello Neighbor as a collab for Fortnitemares 2026, expect it to feature Theodore Peterson as a skin in Fortnite. We could also have a style that features him in heart-themed attire.

Jack The Clown and WWE Star Danhausen

WWE Star Donovan Andrew Danhausen and James Keaton, who plays Jack The Clown from Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights, are likely coming to Fortnitemares 2026. Both reposted the Fortnitemares 2026 teaser on their social media profiles.

Danhausen is no stranger to video game collabs, as his likeness is featured in the WWE 2K26 Ringside Pass. As for Jack The Clown, Epic Games has always added at least one clown-themed skin collab to Fortnitemares over the years, and 2026 shouldn’t be different.

Ken Carson

Ken Carson is collaborating with Fortnite, but we are not sure if he is going to be part of Fortnitemares 2026, and if so, in what capacity. Leaks suggest the rapper is getting a cosmetic bundle, which includes two skins, a back bling, a pickaxe, and a glider. It also contains two emotes, one guitar, and a wrap.

Ken Carson also posted a Sprite version himself on social media towards the end of Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3. It wasn’t added then, but that could change once the next update goes live. There are numerous Sprites that Epic Games is yet to release this season, and Ken Carson Sprite could be one of them.

The Purge + Halloween Horror Nights

There’s a Fortnitemares 2026 collab with The Purge, as Lady Liberty was spotted at the Fortnite x Halloween Horror Nights event earlier this year. In the recent Fortnitemares 2026 teaser, her head is casting a shadow on the wall, with the time on the adjacent grandfather clock striking 7:06; this is a reference to the time of the ‘purge,’ which begins at 7 PM sharp. The clock could also be a subtle hint at the return of Strange Things skins.

Two additional skins could also be featured for Fortnitemares 2026, from the live-action experience at Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights. One is a skeleton with a pumpkin head, and the other seems to be a demon. Considering that Epic Games is going with a ‘mature’ theme for ‘Fortober’, expect them to have a dark vibe.

Beetlejuice + Alice In Wonderland

Beetlejuice has been a Halloween staple for years ever since the film’s release in 1988. Moreover, with the legendary actor Michael Keaton playing the part of the character, it remains a classic to this day. On that note, a Beetlejuice collab for Rocket League was leaked recently, and Epic Games also hinted at a collab in the newly released teaser. This all but confirms it is part of Fortnitemares 2026.

We could see Lydia Deetz and Astrid Deetz featured as skins, and of course, Beetlejuice himself, but we don’t know which version of the character Epic Games is going to choose. The older one is a classic, but the newer version looks a bit better.

There are also rumors of an Alice in Wonderland Fortnitemares 2026 collab. In all probability, Epic Games would likely choose Tim Burton’s version of the film to bring to Fortnite. If things come to pass, we could see characters such as Alice and the Mad Hatter added to the Fortnite Item Shop. A Cheshire Cat Sidekick is going to be another potential cosmetic item.

The Goonies, Trick ’r Treat, and Child’s Play

The Goonies and Child’s Play are iconic films in their own right, and while a collaboration would be incredible, there are no Fortnitemares 2026 leaks to confirm anything. There were leaks for Rocket League a while ago, but not much has happened since. There’s no information about Trick ’r Treat either.

This is a huge stretch, but we have seen multiple collabs featured simultaneously during Fortnitemares in years gone by. Things get a bit cluttered, but it gives players more options to choose from. We personally bank on Chucky and Sloth, from Child’s Play and The Goonies, respectively, to be featured as Fortnitemares 2026 collab skins.

Marvel Tōkon and Bendy

Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls has been rumored to collab with Fortnite for quite some time, but there is nothing concrete yet. With Fortnitemares 2026 fast approaching, there are still no leaks to support this claim. Furthermore, given the average rating that the game has on Steam, Epic Games may skip a collab altogether.

Lastly, the Co-Creator of Bendy and the Ink Machine stated that they were in talks for a game collab, but never specified which one. Some rumors suggest it could be for Fortnitemares 2026, but there’s nothing to back these claims. However, considering that we got an unexpected Fortnite Tom Cruise collab, anything is possible.

Fortnitemares 2026 Free Skins

As of now, we know of one free Fortnite skin that you can claim during Fortnitemares 2026. The Gold Punk skin can be obtained by redeeming Fortnite gift cards between October 2 and October 31, 2026. It could also be added to the Item Shop later this year.

There are also time-limited Fortnitemares-themed gift cards that are purchasable from select locations. They cost $5 each and reward players with V-Bucks, Fortnite Crew, a random game, and more. At present, they seem to be sold out, but Epic Games could release more during Fortnitemares 2026.

We’re also getting the Cel skin from the End of Abyss as a Fortnitemares 2026 collab. You can get the skin for free by purchasing the game from the Epic Games Store for $29.99, or by spending 1,500 V-Bucks in the Fortnite Item Shop.

Fortnitemares 2026 Map Changes

As part of Fortnitemares 2026, we expect the island to undergo a few changes. Based on what was shown in the recent teaser, we summarize that the Wonkeeland POI is getting a major ‘horrifying’ makeover.

Starting October 1, 2026, the POI that stood for “fun” and “joy” could be replaced with an evil clown-themed amusement park. In the image above, we see that the entire layout of the POI has supposedly been changed.

A carousel sits just beyond the entry gates, and there’s a silhouette of a woman starting at it. She could be one of the new bosses in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 that we can challenge to get high-tier loot.
