After days of anticipation and community outrage behind finding the elusive Pirate Shop Token in Fortnite, Epic Games has finally dropped the curtain on its drop rate and how the entire RNG dynamics work this mini-season. According to Epic, each player has a fair and equal chance to snag the Pirate Shop Token in a Fortnite match, however, the odds stand at a bizarre 1 in 137,500 chance of finding it.
What Are the Chances of Finding a Pirate Shop Token in Fortnite? Epic Reveals in New X Post
In an X post by Fortnite Status on November 8, 2026, Epic revealed how the Treasure Hunt Chests rewards actually work and the odds stacked against the player base of finding the hotly debated Pirate Shop Token. But what’s surprising is that the token itself is not the hardest item to find, instead it’s the free weekly gold outfit whose odds are at an astounding 1 in 1,562,500.
To put things simply, Epic explained, “The new treasure this season is found in chests just like other items. Treasure drop rates from chests are constant since season launch and don’t vary throughout the day, except during Treasure Hours. Other than Gizmos, you can’t get the same treasure twice.”

Furthermore, Epic revealed the following drop rates of every item found inside a Treasure Hunt Chest in Fortnite:
- 1:1,562,500 – Weekly Gold Outfit
- 1:137,500 – Pirate Shop Access
- 1:7,813 – Weekly Vehicle & Decal
- 1:568 – Weekly Pickaxe or Backbling
- 1:391 – Weekly Jam Track
- 1:272 – Weekly Loading Screen
- 1:127 – Gizmo (any)
But that’s not all – Epic also revealed that these drop rates are boosted during Fortnite Treasure Hours, meaning players are more likely to find the token if they follow the best methods to get the Pirate Shop Token in Fortnite. Here’s how much the drop rates are boosted during Treasure Hours:
- Pirate Shop Access: 1.5x
- Weekly Gold Outfit: 7.5x
- Weekly Vehicle & Decal: 10x
Furthermore, Epic may boost these drop rates from time to time during Fortnite Treasure Hours, like the one that’s taking place tonight, the drop rates of Pirate Shop Token has been boosted by 2x and the Weekly Gold Skin by 7.5x. So if you still haven’t found the Gold A$AP Rocky Skin in Fortnite, now’s the time to do so.
It’s also currently rumored that Epic is using a new system called “Clover” where they can change the drop rates of Treasure Hunt Chest items in Fortnite and dataminers won’t be able to catch them. While the hunt for Pirate Shop Token continues in Fortnite, we’ll keep you posted when we find one and share the method we followed. Until then, stay tuned with our coverage and let us know in the comments below if you’ve found the token in Fortnite yet.
