Where to Find Freddy’s Nightmare in Fortnite

Fortnite has finally deployed its much-awaited Fortnitemares 2026 update on October 1, and it brings plenty of Halloween skins and items to the game. While FNAF is certainly the highlight of this year’s Fortnitemares, another horror icon, Freddy Krueger (from the A Nightmare on Elm Street movies), has been added. With this, a new Freddy’s Nightmare weapon has been added to Fortnite, and here are all the ways you can get it.

How to Get Freddy Krueger Weapon in Fortnite

Freddy’s Nightmare is a legendary melee weapon stylized like a glove with sharp claws, added to the Fortnite loot pool with the Fortnitemares 2026 update. You can get Freddy’s Nightmare item in Fortnite in two ways: finding it as floor loot and inside chests, or eliminating the Freddy Krueger boss and grabbing the item instantly from the dropped loot.

In our Fortnite Battle Royale match playthroughs, we found the Freddy’s Nightmare item oftentimes in named locations around the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 map, like Wonkeeland POI or the newly added Freaky Fields POI. Find a Pumpkin Chest, Loot Chest, or find the Freddy’s Nightmare glove as floor loot, and it’s yours to use.

Fortnite Freddy Krueger Boss Location

The Freddy Krueger boss can be found in the Nightmare Neighborhood POI on the Fortnite Battle Royale island. The newly added boss is hostile and reacts instantly when he spots you. When you’re near Freddy Krueger, you’ll hear slow music, signalling that he’s around.

As soon as he spots you, he’ll unleash his “Living Nightmare” ability, which is a red pulse that traps you in a 40m-wide red area for around 20 seconds.

When that happens, stay on the move and keep your distance from Freddy, as he’ll teleport to your location instantly and even disguise himself as your equipped Fortnite skin. To fight him, use some of the best Fortnite weapons like the newly added Bonerattler SMG or a trusty shotgun like the Woodstake Shotgun.

Remember to maintain your distance from Freddy, as his strikes can perform a 3-hit melee combo that deals 45, 50, and 55 damage, respectively. Once you’ve managed to lower his health and eliminate him, he’ll drop the legendary Freddy’s Nightmare glove along with some ammo and consumable items. You can pick it up and equip it in your inventory to unleash the same nightmare on your enemies on the Fortnite island.

How to Use Freddy’s Nightmare in Fortnite

The Freddy’s Nightmare item is a melee glove-based weapon that performs slashing attacks on enemies in Fortnite. Upon equipping it, you’ll turn into Freddy Krueger himself.

To use the Freddy’s Nightmare item in Fortnite, press your left mouse button to perform a slashing attack, which is basically a 3-hit melee combo dealing 45, 50, and 55 damage consecutively on each hit. Use the Deer Sprite in Fortnite to increase its effectiveness, as it boosts melee damage.

Furthermore, its secondary ability is called “Living Nightmare,” which can be activated with a right-click, and it sends a red scanning pulse and pulls every enemy within 40m to your red area for 20 seconds. Players who are inside the nightmare can only damage one another, and nobody from outside the area can interfere.

While you’re inside, you can teleport next to a random enemy in your nightmare and disguise yourself as the enemy’s skin. There’s a 30-second cooldown once you’ve used Living Nightmare, but it ends early if you’ve eliminated players you pulled inside.

The Freddy’s Nightmare item also increases your sprint speed in Fortnite, gives you quicker acceleration, and makes you jump higher. So the next time you’re chasing an enemy or evading a sweaty situation in a Fortnite match, use it to traverse the map quickly during the Fortnitemares 2026 update.
