Epic Games has officially revealed the Fortnite Sonic crossover via a small teaser on August 10, 2026. This is the first Gaming Legends Fortnite collaboration confirmed for Chapter 7 Season 4 Override. By the looks of things, all of us “Gotta Go Fast!”
In the video teaser posted on official Sonic the Hedgehog social handles, we can see Peely using the Sonic Spin Dash Mythic to “Go Fast” as part of the Fortnite Sonic crossover. Once the Mythic has been activated, players will be able to run at supersonic speeds (pun intended). A blue aura appears around him, indicating that the Mythic is active.
Using the super-speed, we can see Peely running in circles, quite literally, up and down a steep slope without falling off. We speculate that when this ability is active, players may be able to run like Sonic without taking fall damage. Imagine using this with something like the Fortnite Air Sprite.
The slope that can be seen in the teaser will be part of the Sonic Green Hills Zone POI in Fortnite, which will be added with the crossover. We can also see Rings or Gold Rings from the franchise placed on the track.
We suspect that when you collect these, you will be granted some XP or perhaps a small boost of some kind. Check out the video to see for yourself the new POI and Fortnite Mythic item that is being used by Peely.
On that note, we also know that we will get a Sonic the Hedgehog skin as part of this crossover. The SEGA YouTube channel version of the Fortnite Sonic crossover teaser has the following description: “Sonic, have you heard of a ‘Fortnite’?”
Aside from Sonic, others such as Joker from Persona and perhaps Eggman, will be part of the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 Override Battle Pass. With only a few days to go until the new season kicks off, we can expect more Fortnite teasers to be shared, maybe on Discord over the course of this week.
