Recently, the first trailer for Fantastic Four First Steps has been released, and even though the trailer lacks in some aspects, fans are pretty hyped for this release. It has already been announced who the main villain of The Fantastic Four 2025 is, and he is none other than Galactus, one of the mightiest villains to come out of Marvel. But Galactus isn’t the only villain we’ll be seeing in Fantastic Four. So, let me make things clear and tell you all about who will be the villains in Fantastic Four: First Steps.
As soon as the trailer for The Fantastic Four came out, fans were giddy with anticipation regarding the reveal of who was going to be the main villain of Fantastic Four First Steps. Even though we already know that Galactus will be the big bad, another villain made an appearance in the trailer, sending ripples of confusion among the fans. So, let’s take a look at all the bad guys appearing in The Fantastic Four First Steps while highlighting who is going to be the main villain.
Galactus
On April 3, 2024, Deadline came out with an exclusive report revealing that Galactus will be the main villain of The Fantastic Four First Steps and will be played by Ralph Ineson. They also revealed Julia Garner’s appearance as the Silver Surfer. Galactus was initially known as Galan of Taa, a regular person who lived in the reality that was there before the current one. One day, he and a group of adventurers set out to find a “Cosmic Egg,” and Galan was the only survivor. During the accident, he merged with an entity called The Sentience of the Cosmos, becoming Galactus.
In Marvel comics, Galactus consumes the life force of planets that have life on them to sustain himself, and Earth has been his target multiple times. However, this would be the first time Galactus appears on screen in the current MCU.
Silver Surfer
Silver Surfer is another entity that serves Galactus as his herald and helps him find planets with life for him to consume. In Marvel comics, he was an astronomer named Norrin Radd, and to save his homeworld of Zenn-La, he surrendered himself to Galactus to act as his herald for eternity.
In The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Julia Garner will appear as Shalla-Bal’s version of The Silver Surfer. In Marvel comics, she is the romantic interest of Norrin Radd, and when he became Galactus’s herald, they both got separated for eternity.
Her appearance as Silver Surfer is a hint that this story is set in a different timeline, presumably Earth X, because this is where Shalla-Bal became the Silver Surfer.
The Red Ghost
The second villain who will appear in Fantastic Four 2025 is The Red Ghost. His appearance in the movie was confirmed by a shot of an old man played by John Malkovich in the Fantastic Four teaser. The actor’s role as Ivan Kragoff or The Red Ghost in the upcoming movie was confirmed by a report brought forward by Murphy’s Multiverse.
This character is one of the oldest villains The Fantastic Four have stood against. He made his first appearance in Fantastic Four #13, 1963, as a villainous scientist working for the USSR. He was obsessed with the accident that gave the Fantastic Four their powers and used himself as a lab rat to replicate it. The experiment worked and gave him the power to become intangible; hence, he named himself the Red Ghost.
