thanks for all the facebook like websites i signed up for them. facebook locked my account after it got hacked and i gave them my photo and number. im done with facebook

  • LR says:

What do you recommend for someone who just wants to stay in touch with friends and family, see pictures of their cute kids, but not get any news feeds or adds?

    • CS says:

That is what I want to know, someone needs to create something I am beginning to think that is exactly like FB, but not FB. I am ok with the adds, I am just not ok with FB.

      • Achilleas says:

What about selfcial.com? It is a new social networking website, was created 2 months ago and tries to make internet more safe. No political correctness, no data spying. And you are telling it what to change.

    • Blue Bayou says:

I’ve tried a bunch of the alternative social media platforms over the last several months. Here is my personal opinion:

MeWe and WeGo are more for activists verses personal pages.

Parler: waiting for Parler to come back online. It was the BEST alternative to Twitter.

Rumble: best setup to become a major competitor to YouTube. Ideal for just about any use: personal, business, news, viral videos, video blogs, etc.

StreetLoc: StreetLoc’s IT team has built the best platform infrastructure to truly compete against Facebook. Meant to be a more tight-knit community, StreetLoc is where you and your family and friends can come together to support each other and your community; and small / independent businesses can advertise AND do business through the platform AT NO COST. They offer groups, news feeds, private chats, messaging, videos, discussions, events, photo libraries, business pages, tagging, content permissions, privacy settings, classified ads, and even a few extras, like stores for businesses and press offices for news organizations. Their Android app has already launched and their iOS app is coming soon.

Each of these options respect your privacy and do not data mine.

And as has been mentioned several times in other comments, the biggest issue is convincing enough people to sign up for alternatives. I am in disbelief how many people complain about what the BigTech social media companies are doing, yet you give them an option and they never even check it out. It’s free people. Give it a try. If a particular platform isn’t what you’re looking for, delete your account and try another one.

      • SLG says:

Thank you! That last one sounded like a great alternative.

  • Proteinbar says:

Left off MeWe, Parler Rumble (like YouTube),

    • SD says:

I have checked out most of them. None of them, not GAB, MeWe, Signal, Clouthub and others, none of them can compare to Parler. Parler is the absolute best and extremely user friendly compared to the rest. You don’t have to give out your personal information unless you want to “subscribe” but you can join and use the entire site for free without giving personal information and you don’t have to join “groups” or start a group to chat with others of the same interest. You also don’t have to give them your “Contacts.” Parler is the BEST, cannot wait until they are back up online.

  • Mike Boulton says:

simple answer to password problem. 1/ choose a book.
2/ select the first (last) letter of each word of the first sentence.
insert numbers if required by using the author’s date of birth.

  • Sharon says:

Is there anything out there that would be equivalent to Messenger? I want to get rid of Facebook. I use Messenger when I want to just chat with someone privately….

    • Zohair says:

      Cisco Webex Teams
      WhatsApp

      • Rod says:

Not WhatsApp. Facebook BOUGHT WhatsApp. There are severe privacy problems with WhatsApp now. I used to use it but now have deleted it.

    • jerry says:

Hi Sharon. There are literally dozens of messaging programs to choose from. What to choose would depend entirely on what you expect from it. Google messenger or Outlook’s, Instagram, etc, etc. If ALL you want to do is chat, with or without video, and keep things secure I strongly suggest Teamviewer. You can chat with 1 person or invite others to join you. It has a remote control app built in so if you’re more computer savvy you can help each other. Most importantly is that Teamviewer is very secure and does NOT share or sell your data.

    • Samantha Fluegal says:

signal. hands down. WhatsApp was purchased by FB if you are looking for something else that is not connected, I would go with Signal.

    • eva says:

      telegram, viber and signal

    • Robert kreher says:

Whatsapp and Instagram were bought by Facebook to curtail competition

    • Kim says:

      Signal

    • Blue Bayou says:

StreetLoc is the best built platform to challenge Facebook. And they have private messaging as one of their many functions.

  • Matthew says:

    Try paler.

  • Lisa says:

So in your opinion …which apps are the most similar to Facebook? Meaning how we can use it …. post our thoughts, opinions, post pictures, connect with friends, groups.

    • Bob says:

MeWe is really similar to FB I’ve been on it for a week or so and like it. Just need more users and friends to come join in!!!

  • cory taylor says:

    Try MeWe
ZDNet: “Have Issues with Facebook? MeWe Surges to 9 Million Members” ?

    MeWe Friends,

The MeWe Movement is here! ? The world is waking up to the fact that Facebook, Twitter and the other social media giants spy on, target, and manipulate their users and newsfeeds.? These giants are even censoring good, harmless users and posts simply for sharing viewpoints that these companies’ leaders disagree with.

    • Adele says:

I was on MeWe, deleted my profile after a month. I made my profile strict so I could not receive private msgs. Still I got private msgs. Was a real problem for me. I reported it to MeWe and they said they are working on some minor glitches. I really understand they have to develop some more. Im not on social media to flirt around , Im married, seriously. But the texts never stopped. I was blocking people more than I had time to read what I wanted to read. I ended up leaving. Im still on instagram only , but I need to go from there. I cant seem to download Parler. Im stuck at home , so I really need some kind of safe social media please advise.

  • JJ58 says:

Jack – Parler is the alternative to Twitter & Rumble is the alternative to YouTube. Dan Bongino recently invested in both platforms because they do NOT censor conservatives.

  • Sherry Meyer says:

I use Spreely on occasion. It is supposed to promote free speech, but I don’t have any friends on there yet. Anyone else use it?

    • Jim De says:

what is Spreely like Sherry….facebook is just getting old….it really is….anything about the election and you end up in Facebook jail…Jimmy

  • Jack says:

I finally gave Facebook the boot too …anything I posted regarding truth about the leftist A-Holes and the stooges that follow them got deleted and was deemed false factchecked regardless of the fact that it WAS fact….so having had enough I kicked those gutless spineless cowards to the trash bin before they could ban me. Youtube isn’t far behind FB when it come to pulling the same socialist censoring kind of thing and I feel it won’t be long before they follow suit. I’ve been on the search for a better social media platform since… where conservative values and morals can be welcomed and appreciated. If any of you know where I can find a place to set up shop please post it here and I’ll check back every so often.

    • Laura says:

I’m looking for an alternative too. Hope someone develops one soon.

    • JJ58 says:

Jack – Parler is the alternative to Twitter & Rumble is the alternative to YouTube. Dan Bongino recently invested in both platforms because they do NOT censor conservatives.

    • Sherri says:

Go to Parler. I wonder why they did’nt mention Rumble as an alternative to YouTube either. Hmmmm….

    • Bobba Louie says:

      usa.life

    • Billybob says:

      Minds (more popular) and spreely
are FB like but safe from “fact checkers aka ministry of truth” lol.

      Parler
Is like Twitter without the biased political cencership

      BitChute
Is like youtube but accept all, Alice Jones even moved to it

      • Eric says:

Blurp.Online is a cross between Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. No fact-checkers, no censorship and completely private. Blurp online has a ton of features that people are used to having like Stories, custom profile page backgrounds, Live videos, and more..

    • Jaime Corter says:

    • Katie says:

Usa.life, gab.com, Parler are some options where they don’t censor. Also the replacement for you tube is rumble.

I like WimKin best out of the 8 I have tried.

    • Blue Bayou says:

Try StreetLoc in place of Facebook. It has the most thoughtful and thorough platform I have seen yet. Just need more people to join it.

  • jane says:

It’s not just conservatives being censored. try calling trump’s 4 oldest out for acting like white trash at queen’s palace when they weren’t even invited. 30 days in FB jail! called it hate speech. but you can post ugly racist derogatory caricatures, they’ll leave those up! I guess they are done outta love!

    • Terri Doring says:

I’ve been on FB since 2009, never a problem. Suddenly, I have been “warned” twice and last evening, restricted for “harassment”! In a discussion with a Trump supporter who was bragging about his 401K and stated wealth is all he needs to re-vote Trump, I simply wrote: “Oh…you’re a money whore!” BOOM! Harassment, jail, cast out! WHAT?!?! I’ve written this in other discussions and even among friends and it’s really tame considering some comments and discussions I’ve read! I’m so ticked that I’m shopping for a new venue…I’m exhausted with FB and slightly enraged thinking that my comments are scrutinized, monitored, dissected and judged by some unseen cowards who have their own agenda.

      • Eileen Colvin says:

Parler is the one people are going to, I think

      • Ryker says:

No one wants liberals on Parler or anyone else… so don’t recommend it to them, please!

    • Frank says:

We need a conservative social media network of our own or at least a fair one

  • Johnny says:

Guys head over to coldcast .org and enjoy a truly open social experience. You can even earn £1 for every 20 friends you refer. Zero corporate interference.

  • Wes C says:

My longstanding FB account was getting heavily censored so I tried creating a new one was just getting started repopulating my friends list etc… I had literally made four posts, a couple articles and a couple videos from educated professionals like an Oxford professor or researchers knowledgeable on the subject related to current events like how they are inflating covid numbers, recording asymptomatic non-infectious as infectious, recent studies indicating that children are being put at more risk due to related restrictions than covid itself etc… I Tried to login today and apparently with no warnings, no bans, no means to contest decision those censor happy fucks disabled my account that had only existed a few days. That was the last straw, this is ridiculous and people need to take a stand but the lemmings will just keep on following and guzzling that kool-aid. I’m on Mewe now but I’m pretty sure absolutely nobody else I know is there so I’ve essentially just had to abandon all my friends and family altogether in order to take a stand. Sucks to not be able to stay in contact with a lot of people now but whatever, maybe they will all wake up one day too.

    • conservative says:

yep twitter, facebook are nothing more than pirates of the technoauthoritarianism algorythm socialist agena. They cut everyone off who is conservative.

      • Barb says:

        You are so right

    • A. Rene says:

You are exactly right. FB has pissed me off to no end for the umpteenth millionth time. I am done. I am going to diaspora or ello.

    • clarke says:

hi mate, im on mewe too, what pages are you subscibed to? what places are popular?

  • ChelleY says:

Not the same. He’s not knocking at anyone’s door, simply exercising his right to Freedom of Speech. FB is taking down his speech – putting tape over his mouth. They are pulling down or not showing his content – building a wall around him so no one, even those who share his beliefs, can see them. If people don’t want to see or hear, great! That’s their right. But everyone has the right to post or say what they want. You don’t like it, don’t look. And like always, there are scientists on BOTH sides, experts on both sides, pick any subject – from global warming to the pandemic. Both sides deserve the same rights to express their opinions.

  • Sigrid W. says:

I was banned from Facebook before I even finished the profile. Apparently it was based on the email I used, because it was from a website that promotes prayer and action to end human trafficking. I am totally amazed at what they’re doing. This small church in Houston, TX that I know that doesn’t ever talk about politics, was actually banned without any recourse. Cool ministries is a ministry to people coming out of prison and their families. They provide a resource setting with worship services for them where they would not be judged by others and the page was just shut down. Facebook took their page down, didn’t send them an email as to why, so they sent their people to another personal page Of the pastor that they were sending people to for info on worship times and the church and their videos and that one got shut down within two days, again with no explanation or reason why. I think that stinks. This is happening over and over to Christians and conservatives. Since when do they hate Christians so much? What happened to freedom of speech? Most Christians are really nice people who love God and others like they are supposed to and like this church try to help others. The only other countries where Christians are treated this way are dictatorships or communist regimes. Have we really allowed us ourselves to become that kind of country? How did we ever let a company like Facebook become a monopoly with a product that Has cornered the social media market Without a true competitor? I thought that was against the law. I know they were competitors out there at one time, but what happened to them? To think that the whole nation will be shut off from each other if Facebook goes down, is a sad and dismal reality. And losing the freedoms to express views is the first freedom people lose in authoritarian/communistic countries. Next is jailing them fro their beliefs. That is happening to a pastor in California, Che’ Ahn. They are going to jail him for having church. If people are social distancing what’s the big deal?
If walks like a duck and talks like a duck and has the same feathers, it probably is a duck. We are about to become a dictatorship or communist country.

I moved from using AOL& MySpace to facebook to share with family and network gaming friends. I hated the changed in 2008 but had already had my older family migrate there. The new data view is crap. If I wanted to browse via phone I would use my phone. And there are a lot of user-friendlier apps to use as social platform if on smartphone. I used AOL& Myspace until they became to narrow. AOL I was willing to pay forever if it stayed in a static base format. I liked Tribe a lot for all its aspects except handling image sharing. If I want a corporate giant to have control of my info without any real benefit in return may as well just go to MSN groups! maybe diaspora.. or maybe just split out into different services that equate. I don’t fiddle around on my phone that much… it is for communication and entertainment is secondary

Why is Marc Chinoma the only one who says Nap sack is the true alternative to Facebook. Does anyone else without a vested interest agree? Can you describe how it is the same as Facesbook, and How it is different?

  • Jodi says:

I am in the process of looking myself for another SM platform instead of FB. They keep taking down my posts and now updated another restriction.

Parler is pretty good so far

      • Elaine says:

I find it annoying as have to keep resigning in – can never remember passwords

      • sue says:

Get Lastpass it will store and create passwords for you and its free.

      • Lynne says:

I agree with Sue get LastPass password manager. A suggestion though before you do a new password write it down as they need to be 8+ characters long, have a capital, a number etc etc.
Password managers are necessary these days

      • dtenor says:

I went to Parler but I don’t see anything comparable to FB Messenger or adding friends.
Maybe it’s there but I haven’t seen it?

      Me too

    • Ginger says:

Not banned yet… but certainly want to be able to have my own view. I can post hentai and never see a peep over it. I say Constitution and people flip their $4it!

  • Wen says:

I don’t know enough about the alternatives to FB to choose, but choose I must, since they have banned me, for reasons not specified. I AM a strong Conservative, but I do Not use vulgar language, nor do I say anything offensive, other than the Truth. Truth is offensive to heathens, America-haters, etc, but I think it should be allowed in public forums. They have no problem with filth and hate speech, but they ban decent commentary.

      • Michelle R says:

You guys should move to usa.life Conservative christian FB basically! Full of patriotism and fun! Clean, kids can be on it without worry!! Come on over!:)

  • Pizzarolla says:

Parler is gaining popularity but signing up requires a phone number, and that’s a bit too invasive for my taste.

    • jack says:

I signed up to Parler and have never been able to log back. I’ve tried and tried but no luck. I even tried to sign up with a new name, password, and email address, but it won’t even do that, so I give up. And what’s up with the dam password BS? No password I tried originally was good enough, so I had to use the stupid password generator which gave me the longest most ridiculous password I’ve ever seen. there is no way on earth I’d ever remember that.

      • Mike Boulton says:

simple answer to password problem. 1/ choose a book.
2/ select the first (last) letter of each word of the first sentence.
insert numbers if required by using the author’s date of birth.
