Gamescom 2026 is drawing near, and the gaming community cannot wait to see all the world premieres and updates. With gaming celebrating some of its best years, we still have a lot more amazing games to look forward to. And what better place to showcase them than Gamescom? Here are some of the biggest game announcements expected at Gamescom ONL 2026.
New CD Projekt Game Announcement
The Witcher 3 is getting a new DLC, Songs of the Past, after a decade, and CD Projekt Red has already confirmed that they plan to reveal more at Opening Night Live. However, there is also a hint of something additional from them, maybe a new Witcher 4 trailer or perhaps Cyberpunk 2? We will have to find out during the event.
Resident Evil Requiem DLC
Resident Evil Requiem DLC leaks have been all over the internet for months, with many claiming Ada Wong’s return. Capcom has been completely mute over the game’s story DLCs, and Gamescom would be the perfect time to reveal it. Ending 2026 with the Resident Evil Requiem DLC would be the perfect way to push the game for the Game of the Year contention.
Ryse: Son of Rome 2
Asha Sharma has been making big claims about Gamescom. She has said that Gamescom would be the revival of Xbox. When we think of Xbox, one of the games that pops into my mind instantly is Ryse: Son of Rome, an absolute classic. Although this one may have less of a foundation to stand upon, there is a possibility that Xbox’s big revival would be led by Ryse Son of Rome 2 at Gamescom.
Hogwarts Legacy 2
With the major success of Hogwarts Legacy, we have been hearing rumors about Hogwarts Legacy 2 for quite some time. With much time having passed since the release of the first game, Gamescom 2026 seems to be the perfect place to make a surprise trailer announcement. So, expect Hogwarts Legacy 2 to be part of the Gamescom ONL 2026 game announcements.
Tomb Raider Catalyst
Tomb Raider Catalyst is the next big mainline game in the Lara Croft franchise, and we have already received a teaser for it. But with the game being delayed to 2028, there is a possibility that we will get a quick trailer or teaser during Gamescom. Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is also set to release early next year, so expect to see more of it as well at the event.
ARC Raiders New Update
ARC Raiders have been cooking up one of their biggest updates yet. The Arc Raiders Frozen Trail update is set to release on October 8. So far, we haven’t seen much of the update at all, other than some still pictures. This means we might finally receive a new trailer during the Gamescom Opening Night.
Elder Scrolls VI
It won’t be a prediction list if Elder Scrolls VI doesn’t make it into the list. The game has been in development for years, with nothing to show for it yet. With Asha Sharma making Bethesda focus on their core games again, we might finally see something of Elder Scrolls VI soon. And what is a better place to showcase than Gamescom? This will also be the revival for Xbox that Asha Sharma desperately seeks.
Lies of P Sequel
This one doesn’t really have many leaks backing it, but Gamescom 2026 feels like the perfect time to announce the Lies of P Sequel. The game has been out for years, and both the base game and the DLC have been incredibly successful. With enough time having passed, I don’t see why we won’t get a small teaser that they are working on a sequel. Which is why we added Lies of P sequel to our expected Gamescom ONL 2026 game announcements list.
ILL
One of the horror games I am looking to play the most in the near future is ILL. My excitement for the game’s release has only increased ever since our interview with the ILL creative director. This game may bring a freshness to the horror genre that gaming desperately needs. With a release date planned for next year, there is a very good chance we will have a surprise trailer or gameplay video at Gamescom.
New Warhorse Studios Game
Warhorse Studios recently revealed that they are working on a new Kingdom Come game. We haven’t received any teaser or visual update on the game, and Gamescom might be the perfect place to reveal it. However, that’s not all, as Warhorse has also confirmed that they are working on a new Lord of the Rings game, which has more of a chance of being announced this time around than the new Kingdom Come.
Kojima Brings Another OD Gameplay Clip
Finally, it won’t be a Geoff Keighley event if Kojima doesn’t decide to show up. And this time, he has more of a cause to do it. With Asha Sharma hyping Xbox’s revival, much of it is also dependent on Kojima’s OD, an Xbox exclusive game. So, there is a very good chance we will finally have a bit more in-depth look at OD Knock.
