3 Tried And True Social Media Tips For Companies

These days, social media is a major aspect of marketing, and an active social presence is becoming more and more vital to a company’s success. In fact, having one profile won’t even cut it anymore because an increasing number of companies have kicked their marketing efforts into high gear to include profiles on multiple social media platforms.

So if your company is new, or you’re new to the world of social media, how do you compete when your industry competitors have already established a solid and loyal following? Well, there are plenty of simple ways you can build your own following, and we’re here to let you in on the top three. Check them out below!

1. Update All Your Profiles Daily

In order to maintain an active presence across all social media platforms, it is essential that you update your profiles every day with unique content. By unique, we mean that you should avoid posting the same thing on Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Pinterest, etc because you’re bound to have some overlap in followers and if they see that you’re cross-posting the same content verbatim, they’ll probably assume that your brand lacks creativity.

Instant Checkmate is a great example of a company with an effective daily social media strategy. They have profiles on all major social platforms, and each one is updated every single day, and the content is never identical. Posts may encompass the same overall idea or message, but they do a great job of mixing up the wording to avoid sounding too repetitive.

2. Have A Sense Of Humor

Brand personality is extremely important on social media because that’s what is going to get people to notice you and follow your pages. If you just post dry boring information about your company day after day, then you’re not going to get very far when it comes to building your following.

For an excellent example of brand personality, look no further than Taco Bell. The fast food company has become insanely popular on social media because their social media marketing team infuses personality into every single post, no matter which platform you’re on. The content is sarcastic, witty, and most of the time, their posts will have you laughing out loud and coming back for more.

3. Run Exclusive Contests

One of the quickest ways to get your content to spread like wildfire is to run a contest that is exclusive to your social media followers. First you have to pick a platform, so we’ll use Facebook for this example. Facebook photo contests are always a goldmine because users enter the contest and, if the winning photo is based on number of likes, they’ll share the information with all their friends asking them to go to your company page and vote for their entry.

For the prize, it can be pretty much anything that you want to offer your fans, but the key is to make sure you choose something that people will really want. That way, they’ll think it’s worth their time to enter your contest and share the voting information with their friends. When this happens, you’ll have a waves of new visitors to your company page, which means that you’ll probably get more likes and more contest entries.
