Reze’s introduction has been teased all the way back in the final episode of Chainsaw Man season 1, which aired in 2022. Since then, fans have been dying to meet her in the anime, and now Reze is all set to make her official debut in Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc. If you are wondering who she is in the story, Reze crosses paths with Denji one day, and our hero quickly falls head over heels for her.

The pair formed an instant and lovely connection, but fate played Denji like it always did. It is only revealed later that Reze is a hybrid devil who goes by the name Bomb Girl. Hailing from the Soviet Union, Reze was tasked with seizing the heart of Chainsaw Man (literally!).

Reina Ueda, known for her roles as Cha Hae-In in Solo Leveling, Kanao Tsuyuri in Demon Slayer, etc, voices Reze in the Chainsaw Man anime series. Her most recent popular roles would be Chinatsu Kano in Blue Box and Shizuka Kuze in Takopi’s Original Sin.

Reina Ueda already made her debut in the Chainsaw Man anime during her character’s tease in the final episode of Chainsaw Man season 1. Now, she makes her complete debut in Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc.

How Old Is Reze in Chainsaw Man?

Unfortunately, Reze’s exact age was never mentioned by the author Fujimoto in the Chainsaw Man manga. However, we do know that the hybrid devils, once turned into one, no longer grow older. Their age freezes at their prime when they become a hybrid devil. Based on Reze’s personality, she is likely to be around 18-20 years old in the Chainsaw Man story.

Does Reze Really Love Denji in Chainsaw Man?

At first, it seemed like Denji finally found his lover at last as Reze was lovey-dovey with him since their meeting. However, as I mentioned earlier, her love was only an act to fulfill her mission assigned by the Russians. Although Reze only pretended to be in love with Denji, this facade didn’t last long.

At the end of the Bomb Girl arc, Reze has a change of heart. Underneath the Bomb Girl mask, she began to develop true feelings for him as they shared a lot in common. Although she couldn’t completely confess her feelings to Denji, it developed into something she could no longer deny. So, yes, Reze loved Denji in the end, although she started with lies initially.

Similar to how Denji pulls the cord in his chest to transform, Reze has a grenade-like pin in her neck, which she pulls to enter the Bomb Girl hybrid devil form. Bomb Girl is one of the most powerful devils we have seen in the Chainsaw Man series. As the devil’s name implies, Reze left a trail of destruction with her explosive powers.

If you have watched My Hero Academia (final season airs next week) before, Reze’s explosive powers can be compared with Bakugo’s explosion quirk. However, Reze’s main weakness is water. As you can figure out already, the moisture kills the spark needed to create devastating explosions.

In case you didn’t know, Fujimoto once mentioned that his favorite character, Reze, was partly inspired by the concept of Denji falling for someone other than Makima. Only for Makima to step in between the new couple in town and tear them apart. Who could have thought Fujimoto meant literally, as Makima would be the one who kills Reze later on, when Reze tries to meet Denji in her cafe.

However, devil-human hybrids in the Chainsaw Man series can’t die. Although it was previously implied that Reze is no more, she is still alive somewhere after the events of the Control Devil arc. Therefore, if Fujimoto wants to bring back the fan-favorite Reze in a future arc, he can do so as Reze survived Makima’s life-ending attack.
