Deadpool has finally got an entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After much hype, Ryan Reynolds’ foul-mouthed character has returned, and this time, our beloved Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine has joined him in Deadpool 3. Besides the interesting team-up, we also witness two new female characters in the world of Deadpool, i.e., Lady Deadpool Aka. Wanda Wilson and X-23. However, there was one more female character who was hyped to appear in Deadpool 3 – Dazzler, and in this post, we will talk about her.
Dazzler’s Origins in Marvel Comics
Dazzler aka Alison Blaire was born to a Jewish couple, Carter and Katherine Blaire. However, when Alison was too young, her mother shirked her responsibility and departed after leaving her with Carter. Alison was ambitious about singing and wanted to make a career in it. Carter was a strict law personnel, so he did not take Alison seriously. However, Alison’s grandmother, Bella Blaire, encouraged her to follow her dreams.
Alison participated in the High School dance show, and it was the first time her mutant powers emerged. She didn’t know much about her transformation and powers, so she blinded everyone for a while to hide her identity. While trying to hide her powers, she would sometimes anger her father. However, that didn’t stop her from exploring the new powers she had received. So, while navigating college life, she also started working on her powers. Alison constructed her unique mirrored performing suit and named herself ‘Dazzler.’
The fun fact about Dazzler that most of us don’t know yet is that she dated the richie-rich Tony Stark for a brief time.
Dazzler: Powers and Abilities
1. Sound Manipulation
Dazzler can quickly transform any sound into light and use it as a weapon. However, the only condition for this type of conversion depends on the frequency range. To be precise, the higher the frequency, the greater the results. Moreover, since she has been a music lover since childhood, she prefers to convert the sound of music that feels soothing to her ears. She can release the sound absorbed by her in one go or in pieces at will.
2. Formidable Combatant
She has undergone X-Men training for several years and has gained an immense combating skill. So, there’s no second thought about how good she is as a fighter. There have been many instances where she managed to cheat death and fight for the sake of her allies against the villainous entities.
3. Laser Projection
Dazzler’s body is an energy field that can store massive amounts of energy and release them as photons. If the ability is left undirected, you’ll see light radiating from every part of Dazzler’s body. However, with mastery over the light Dazzler produces, she can control it fully, be it the color frequency, intensity, duration, or direction. Besides that, by focusing, Dazzler can generate laser beams from the light she produces and can cut any object. She can also create holograms of any living being or non-living object.
Does Dazzler Appear in Deadpool 3
There were rumors that Taylor Swift would play the role of Dazzler in Deadpool 3. However, now that the movie is out, it is confirmed that Dazzler does not appear in Deadpool 3 and we see no mention of her as well. While there were several cameos in Deadpool 3, Dazzler did not make the cut. Well, maybe in Deadpool 4 if it exists.
