What Does Soldier Boy’s Return Mean for The Boys Season 5

The Boys Season 4 has been as diabolical as it gets and even though this show is unhinged, it has grown to become one of the most watched shows on OTT platforms. The Boys Season 4 has brought back all our favorite characters but people were waiting for Soldier Boy to appear and he finally did in The Boys Season 4’s final episode confirming that Soldier Boy will appear in The Boys Season 5.

What Role Will Soldier Boy Play in The Boys Season 5

In the post-credit scene of The Boys Season 4, we see Homelander visiting a facility where Soldier Boy is kept in a cryo chamber. Homelander looked at him while Soldier Boy was sleeping in the chamber. Now this has been confirmed that Soldier Boy will be appearing in The Boys Season 5, however recently, Eric Kripke enlightened us with the role Soldier Boy will play in The Boys Season 5. In his statement, to GamesRadar, he said-

“You know, what we realized was we really hadn’t explored the father-son relationship much between Homelander and Soldier Boy, there’s a lot of material there, how Soldier Boy feels about Homelander, how Homelander feels about his dad, and so we really wanted to dig into that relationship”

For those who are unaware, Soldier Boy is the father of Homelander, making him one of the most powerful supes. With his large arsenal of powers and abilities, Soldier Boy possibly teaming up with Homelander to kill Butcher is going to be a sight to behold.

How Is Soldier Boy Alive and Being Kept in a Cryo Chamber

By the end of The Boys Season 3, we see that Soldier Boy is pushed out of the building by Queen Maeve to protect everyone from dying at his hands. Queen Maeve survives the explosion but we do not get to see Soldier Boy leading people to assume that he is dead. However, later on, we get to see that Soldier Boy is still alive and is being kept in a cryogenic chamber by Grace Mallory in a secret location.
