While their utilities offer a solid platform for success, winning rounds will still come down to your aiming skills and the weapon in your hands. That is why you must pick the best weapons in the game to gain a combat advantage every round. To make that task simple, we decided to rank all the guns in Valorant based on the latest V26 Act 3 update. Check out our Valorant weapons tier list here to learn about the current best weapons in the game.
Valorant Weapon Tier List – May 2026
| Tier | Weapons |
|---|---|
| S | Phantom, Vandal, Operator |
| A | Outlaw, Odin, Ghost, Bandit, Sheriff |
| B | Stinger, Classic, Guardian, Judge, Spectre |
| C | Ares, Bulldog, Marshal |
| D | Bucky, Shorty, Frenzy, Melee |
Best Valorant S-Tier Weapons
This is the highest tier of weapons in Valorant. These guns will be effective regardless of which game mode or map you’re playing on, and as a result, they enjoy the highest pick rates.
Phantom
- Creds: 2900
- Magazine Size: 30/60
Phantom is the best AR in Valorant for multiple reasons. While the Phantom vs Vandal debate will go on forever, the general verdict has leaned in the former’s direction ever since the latter was hit by a magazine nerf. Even the Phantom got a magazine nerf now, but it’s still better than Vandal for most players.
The gun itself is extremely smooth and accurate, offering a similar range of damage as the Vandal while being far more forgiving. Spraying through smokes or firing in brief bursts feels more viable with the Phantom equipped, which is one of the many reasons why it sits at the top of our list.
Vandal
- Creds: 2900
- Magazine Size: 25/50
Vandal is ideal for Valorant players with disciplined aim. The gun is all about tapping heads instead of spraying. Its slower fire rate (9.75 rounds/sec, 585 RPM), combined with an unwieldy recoil pattern, makes it problematic for close-range fights.
But the fact that you can one-tap enemies from any range with a headshot more than makes up for those shortcomings. Thus, if you are all into becoming a pro player in Valorant, it goes without saying that the Vandal must be your best pick.
Operator
- Creds: 4700
- Magazine Size: 5/10
The Operator is the perfect example of a high-risk, high-reward weapon. The gun has the highest damage in Valorant. And while you can only shoot one bullet at a time, a player proficient with the Operator is almost unstoppable. Just make sure to use Jett or Chamber since their evasive abilities pair well with the sniper.
Best Valorant A-Tier Weapons
The A-tier guns on our Valorant tier list are excellent in their own right. In fact, two of my personal favorite guns are present in this section. However, they’re just a notch below the absolute meta picks mainly because their damage output isn’t up to the same standard.
Outlaw
- Creds: 2400
- Magazine Size: 2/10
When Outlaw was first teased, it felt like a combination of a sniper and a shotgun. Functionally, it almost fits that description, but the sniper does require exceptional aim to properly shine. The gun is most effective against half-armored enemies, who can be quickly defeated using its two-shot fire type.
At the same time, that two-shot nature is arguably the Outlaw’s biggest weakness since it leads to a low magazine size, making it a high-risk weapon. Ultimately, it is a situational weapon that can yield great results at times.
Odin
- Creds: 3200
- Magazine Size: 100/200
The infamous Odin is all about exploiting the plastic walls of Valorant maps. In maps like Ascent or Lotus, Odin can create havoc on the defensive half. However, it is a pretty expensive purchase. It’s also worth noting that the Odin is looked down upon in ranked lobbies, and buying it can often attract petty opponents who turn the match into spam fests.
There is a reason why every player keeps pleading with Riot Games to nerf Odin. It is a handy weapon perfect for spamming during desperate times. And in case your spam operation fails, always remember that you’ll take a major economic hit.
Ghost
- Creds: 500
- Magazine Size: 13/39
The Ghost is an excellent weapon for beginners and veterans alike. The gun makes it easy for new players to understand aim and recoil, while veterans wield it as a rapid-fire burster during pistol rounds. It also has a great balance of accuracy and damage, so if you struggle with landing headshots, the Ghost will still bring you enough value.
Bandit
- Creds: 600
- Magazine Size: 8/24
The Bandit in Valorant slots right between the Ghost and the Sheriff at 600 Credits, and that placement also represents what the weapon is all about. In action, the gun is an economical, more forgiving cannon that trades the Sheriff’s raw power for better handling.
Its fire rate is much quicker than the Sheriff’s, which immediately makes it more forgiving. What’s more is that the Bandit can also deliver one-tap kills with headshots, although you’ll have to contend with its lack of precision.
Sheriff
- Creds: 800
- Magazine Size: 6/24
The Sheriff is a sidearm with the highest headshot damage in Valorant. It is one of the few guns that can kill from headshots at any distance, while also packing massive wallbang damage. That being said, the Deagle-esque revolver’s recoil is notoriously hard to control.
When combined with a slow fire rate, the Sheriff becomes a niche weapon that’s satisfying to use but fairly incompatible with a large number of players. However, if you begin mastering Sheriff, the sidearm is almost as good as a Vandal.
Best Valorant B-Tier Weapons
The weapons in the B-tier can be fun to use, but their effectiveness depends on the situation and the Valorant map you’re playing on. They’re great for switching things up or breaking a mid-game drought during a match, although you should avoid relying on them for large periods of the game.
Stinger
- Creds: 1100
- Magazine Size: 20/60
Stinger is a solid eco-round gun with the fastest fire rate in the game. The gun also got a huge alt-fire accuracy buff recently through an update. Unfortunately, the Stinger cannot rise above B-tier due to its strong vertical recoil, which greatly restricts its value at range, as well as a small magazine size. But it is still reliable if you can control its recoil during close-range fights.
Judge
- Creds: 1850
- Magazine Size: 5/15
The Judge is a devastating automatic shotgun, which is an absolute killing machine at close ranges. Some players even think that the weapon deserves a spot in the S-tier. Unfortunately, recent nerfs have made the gun more situational than ever before.
It’s still a natural pick for aggressive agents such as Raze, Yoru, or Jett, but it’s much less viable for other characters. Thus, pick up the Judge when needed to deliver judgment to the opponents.
Classic
- Creds: Free
- Magazine Size: 12/36
Classic is the free gun you get every round. Although it does not deal with huge damage from a long-range, burst fire is an underrated aspect of this weapon. Even in economy rounds, you can shock enemies with other weapons using just a Classic. The bonus part is that you will not lose creds for using this gun.
Guardian
- Creds: 2250
- Magazine Size: 12/36
Guardian is another gun that requires individual brilliance. The weapon is highly accurate and easy to master. But there’s a pretty wide gap in terms of value between its body shots and headshots. So, if you fail to secure a head tap, you’re likely to come up short in most matchups. That is why the Guardian didn’t earn a place in the S or A-tiers.
Spectre
- Creds: 1600
- Magazine Size: 30/90
Spectre was easily one of the best weapons in the game, boasting great accuracy. However, recent nerfs unceremoniously reduced it, turning it into an average SMG in the game. Nowadays, the Spectre is mainly viable for close-range engagements in eco rounds.
Best Valorant C-Tier Weapons
C-tier weapons are decent if used properly. In the right hands, these weapons can get you a couple of kills. However, the damage and difficulty of these weapons keep them away from higher tiers. Here are all the C-tier Valorant weapons in our tier list:
Ares
- Creds: 1600
- Magazine Size: 50/100
Ares is basically the poor man’s Odin in Valorant. With less fire rate and damage, it can be good for bonus-round defense. While Ares used to be a strong gun when the wind-up speed was good, it has since fallen out of favor and is only mostly used in Spike Rush. These days, it’s a rare sight to spot an Ares in a competitive match.
Bulldog
- Creds: 2050
- Magazine Size: 24/72
Bulldog is not the best option when it comes to eco-rounds. Players well-acquainted with its bullpup fire-type can snag a few kills while ADS-ing, but the auto-fire mode leaves a lot more to be desired. You can always prefer a Spectre or a Guardian over relying on Bulldog.
Marshal
- Creds: 950
- Magazine Size: 5/15
Before Outlaw, Marshal was the cheap alternative for Operator. It has great reload and clocking speed. However, if you miss a headshot with Marshal, you deal 101 damage, which is insufficient if the opponent has armor. This can punish the Marshal users quite a lot. So be careful while using this weapon.
Valorant D-Tier Weapons
As the name suggests, D-tier Valorant weapons just aren’t any good. You should be looking to avoid these guns in most cases, unless you’re looking to troll opponents using a Shorty.
Bucky
- Creds: 850
- Magazine Size: 5/10
Bucky is the only shotgun in Valorant that comes with an alt-fire action, as it lets you shoot further at the expense of some damage. However, the bullet spread is quite poor, and the primary pump-action fire-type isn’t all that great either. Bucky isn’t simply worth all the bucks you spend to get it. This is why the Bucky sits firmly in the bottom tier on our Valorant weapons tier list.
Shorty
- Creds: 300
- Magazine Size: 2/6
Shorty deals devastating damage, but the distance needs to be very close. Moreover, the gun has a very limited magazine size. This reduces the weapon to more of a gimmick gun that’s fun to use in the arcade mode, but is barely effective in actual ranked play. In addition, a Shorty can be used as a sidearm if you are sniping with the operator.
Frenzy
- Creds: 450
- Magazine Size: 15/45
Frenzy is a decent gun in some scenarios. This gun is horrible at long range, with bad accuracy and damage. Recently, its magazine has been slightly increased to offer you an advantage. So, the best way to use it is while camping for the enemy or pushing with your team in a five-stack Frenzy. Similar to Bucky, Frenzy can also be used as a side arm only when you are sniping.
Melee (Knife)
- Creds: Free
- Magazine Size: N/A
The best use case for a knife or melee weapon in Valorant is the added movement speed when equipped. Outside of that, killing an enemy with a knife is basically griefing. That all but sums up the melee’s utility, but hey, those butterfly knife animations are cool as hell, right? You can only trust your melee weapon when you are about to backstab an AFK enemy. Otherwise, never rely on it.
And that wraps up our Valorant weapons tier list for the V26 Act 3 update. Do you agree with our list? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
Depending on your preference, the best gun in Valorant is either the Phantom or the Vandal. If you’re all about precision, then Vandal is the way to go. But if you’re looking for a more accessible and forgiving AR, then the Phantom should be your pick.
The most powerful Valorant gun is the Operator, which packs 255 headshot damage and 150 body damage – both resulting in one-shot kills.
The best Valorant guns for beginners include Spectre, Ghost, Judge, and Ares.
