Making her debut in 2023’s The Flash, Supergirl won the hearts of DC fans and made a mark for herself among other most powerful DC superheroes. Now, in 2026, Supergirl is finally getting her solo movie. This movie will be based on Tom King’s comic-book run with the same name. Most recently, Supergirl, played by Milly Alcock, also got a cameo in Superman (2025), foreshadowing her arrival next year. According to James Gunn, her character is going to be much more jaded than Superman’s.

2. Clayface (2026)

  • Release Date: September 11, 2026

Now, if you have watched Superman (2025), I guess you are fairly aware of what the DCU is capable of, and in a show of versatility, the outing, followed by Supergirl, will be a downright horror movie, giving us the tale of the DC villain, Clayface. Recently, it was revealed that James Gunn has cast Tom Rhys Harries as Matt Hagen/Clayface and the movie will be directed by James Watkins and written by Mike Flanagan. The upcoming DC movie – Clayface – will release on September 11, 2026.

One of the most anticipated movies right now is the sequel to 2022’s The Batman. Earlier, the movie was slated for a release in 2026 itself, but now, the release of The Batman Part 2 has been shifted to 2027. As of now, we don’t have a lot of details regarding this project since both Matt Reeves, the director, and James Gunn are really tight-lipped regarding details of the project. So, we will have to wait for quite some time to have any concrete idea of what’s going on behind the curtains.

4. Batman: Brave and the Bold (TBA)

  • Release Date: TBA

After Superman, how can James Gunn leave out the most loved DC hero of all time? Batman: Brave and the Bold will draw inspiration from the comic series of the same title. This movie will revolve around Batman and his son, Damian Wayne, as Robin, and is going to be a “Father-Son movie”. The upcoming DC movie will also include other members of the Bat-family.

With that being said, we can certainly expect Blue Beetle’s second appearance in this movie. However, there is still no information regarding who will be seen carrying the mantle of Batman in the DCU since James Gunn has already confirmed Pattinson will not be DCU’s Batman.

5. Teen Titans (TBA)

  • Release Date: TBA

Another interesting project in development at DC Studios is Teen Titans, a project that came to light via a report brought forward by The Hollywood Reporter. However, as of now, this is all we know about the upcoming project, and we have no further information as to how things will work out for this project.

6. Wonder Woman (TBA)

  • Release Date: TBA

Following the introduction of Superman and Batman, Gunn’s DCU is on track to complete DC’s trinity with the introduction of Wonder Woman. However, as of now, there are no confirmed reports of which actress is on track to play Wonder Woman in the new DCU, so we will have to wait and see who is going to play the Amazon warrior after Gal Gadot. As of now, all we know is that the writer’s room at DC Studios is working on a script for Wonder Woman.

7. Swamp Thing (TBA)

  • Release Date: TBA

Talking about Swamp Thing, much like the character itself, the details of the movie revolving around it are scarce. All we know is that this movie will focus deeply on the origins of this character. We also know that Swamp Thing is going to be tonally darker than the other DC projects we have at hand and will be directed by James Mangold.

8. The Authority (TBA)

  • Release Date: TBA

The Authority is another upcoming project from the DCU that will feature a gallery of heroes that are more on the anti-hero side of things. Based on what we know so far, this movie will bring the WildStorm characters to life for the very first time. However, according to the latest reports, the Authority is kind of a low-priority project right now, so we might have to wait for a while before we get our hands on some information regarding the project.

9. Dynamic Duo (TBA)

  • Release Date: TBA

The Dynamic Duo is another ambitious project from DC Studios. This is going to be an animated project that will bring together Dick Grayson and Jason Todd and will tell their origin stories. The animated project is being written by Matthew Aldrich. Also, Matt Reeves’ production company, 6th & Idaho, will be producing the upcoming animated flick.

Upcoming DC TV Shows

1. Peacemaker Season 2 (2025)

  • Release Date: August 21, 2025

One of the most anticipated shows from DC Studios right now is Peacemaker Season 2. The first trailer for this project has already won over fans, and now that Pecemaker has had a cameo in Superman, the anticipation is at an all-time high. The series will explore Peacemaker’s exploits after he saved the world once and now wants to be a full-time superhero.

However, it appears that no one really takes him seriously. On top of that, Rick Flag Sr. is coming after him to avenge the death of his son at Peacemaker’s hand, so it appears that things could get a bit messy for Peacemaker.

2. Lanterns (2026)

  • Release Date: 2026

After a long time, Green Lanterns have come back in a live-action and this upcoming DC TV show is set to cement their place in the broader DCU. As far as we know, Lanterns will explore the stories of Hal Jordan, played by Kyle Chandler, and John Stuart, played by Aaron Pierre, and a few other Lanterns. On top of that, Guy Gardner will also have substantial screen time in Lanterns after making a name for himself in Superman. This series will be a detective-like show where Hal and John will take care of a huge threat on Earth while uncovering a big mystery that will then connect to the wider DCU.

3. Waller (TBA)

  • Release Date: TBA

Waller will bring Viola Davis’s Amanda Waller to the center stage. Initially, Waller was set to mark its release before Peacemaker Season 2, but due to the writers’ strikes, the shows for DCU had to be moved around, resulting in Waller getting pushed back substantially. Not a lot of details regarding the project are available to us, but according to James Gunn, it is one of the best shows DC has on its roster as of now.

4. Blue Beetle Animated Series (TBA)

  • Release Date: TBA

One of the first movies to give us a hint of what the new DCU was going to be like came from Blue Beetle in 2023. While a lot of people loved the movie, a continuation of this story seemed to be unlikely. However, it looks like Blue Beetle is here to stay, and his story will be continued in an animated series. As of now, there is little to no information regarding the show, but since it’s in active development, some updates should come our way sooner than expected.

6. Booster Gold (TBA)

  • Release Date: TBA

Booster Gold will introduce a superhero who is essentially a time traveler, was a loser in his time, and worked as a night guard at a museum. He used highly advanced tech of that time and used it to go back to the 21st century when the world was full of superheroes. He took up the name of Booster Gold and, using the tech that was beyond anyone’s understanding, became a superhero.

5. Paradise Lost (TBA)

  • Release Date: TBA

Paradise Lost will revolve around Wonder Woman and Paradise Island, a synonym of Themyscera, Wonder Woman’s birthplace. Very little information is available to us about the upcoming DC series, but according to James Gunn, Paradise Lost is going to be a Game of Thrones-like series with characters from the Wonder Woman franchise.
