The sense of freedom and immersion a good open world game provides cannot be compared to many other games. Sadly, most recent open world games lack the features I love most about the genre. The 7 game mechanics I want in every open world game are Territory Wars, Randomly Created Dungeons, Roaming Optional World Bosses, Visual Indicators for Important Locations, Multiple Quest Outcomes, the Ability To Kill/Fight NPCs, and good Traversal Skills.
