Apple is being investigated for potentially violating FCC's Part 14 rules in relation to accessibility. It has been stated by FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr during the State of the Net 2024 conference in Washington, DC that Beeper Mini was an app that promoted usability and accessibility, allowing Android users to interact with Apple's iMessage platform. Now, Apple may be found in violation of the FCC rules, and may even be investigated by the DOJ for anti-competitive behaviour.

The Beeper developer team is not giving up its mission to keep iMessage working on Android. It has a new solution that will roll out to Beeper Mini and Cloud users on December 20. This solution is more so a workaround that requires users to own a Mac or have a friend with a Mac who can lend them registration data. The team believes this is a reliable solution, but we will know for sure in the coming days.
Beeper Mini is a new Android app which brought Apple's iMessage to Android. But the app has gone down once again. It looks like Apple is persistent with its efforts to stop iMessage from working on Android. About 5% of users are experiencing the bug, reportedly caused by Apple's continued efforts. On X (formerly Twitter), Beeper has suggested uninstalling & reinstalling the application to fix the issue while it works on a solution.
Apple has shut down Beeper Mini, the app that brought iMessage functionality to Android. However, whatever techniques that Beeper was using on their app, have now been patched by Apple. While Beeper developers seem to continue working on bringing back the iMessage functionality to their Android app, it does not seem likely for Beeper Mini to start working again.
