Ever since the Galaxy S24 series went official earlier this year, the Galaxy S25 has become the new talk of the town. The upcoming series will be featuring three devices, namely, the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Ultra. Now, all three of these devices have made appearances at the rumor mill. We have extracted the most vital pieces of information we could find from all the leaks and reports. So, if you want to know all about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 series, read on!
Galaxy S25 Series: Release Date
Samsung usually launches its new flagship Galaxy lineup sometime between late January to early February every year at the Unpacked event. This year, as well, you can see the upcoming Galaxy S25 series go official sometime in January. For your reference, here’s a quick rundown of when the previous flagship Galaxy phones went official:
- Galaxy S21 Series: January 29, 2021
- Galaxy S22 Series: February 9, 2022
- Galaxy S23 Series: February 17, 2023
- Galaxy S24 Series: January 31, 2024
Galaxy S25 Series: Design and Display Leaks
Let’s start off by talking about the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It has been making the most rounds of the rumor mill, and understandably so. The top-of-the-line phone in the upcoming series will take the curvier route this time around. You get to see more rounded-off edges on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, instead of the boxier design that you’ve gotten used to seeing.
OK #FutureSquad… Here finally comes your very first and very early look at the #Samsung #GalaxyS25Ultra (360° video + stunning 5K renders + dimensions)!😏

Since the Galaxy S25 Ultra is also said to feature a bigger 6.86-inch display (slightly up from the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s 6.8-inch panel), it’s important to curve it out to make it more comfortable to hold.
The good thing is that the upcoming flagship will retain its predecessor’s flat display. This is backed by a bunch of leaks, with the latest one coming from ICE UNIVERSE, which gives us a look at the privacy screen protectors for the three phones.

It will also be slightly thinner, offering dimensions of 162.8 x 77.6 x 8.2mm, in comparison to Galaxy S24 Ultra’s 162.3 x 79.0 x 8.6mm. OnLeaks’ design leaks fall in line with the Galaxy S25 Ultra case leaks, shared by tipster ICE UNIVERSE. Additionally, the dimensions match up with a newer leak by the site Mokesciu Skaiciuokle that displays the three models in aluminum dummies.

Additionally, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will also be lighter at 219 grams. That’s quite lighter than the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which weighs 232 grams. Another thing to note is that the sides will be flat this time, treating us to narrower bezels.
While the Galaxy S24 Ultra arrived with a flat top and bottom as well, the sides were slightly curvier. Everything else remains the same, and you see the same camera module design, button placement as well as S Pen slot.
The vanilla Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus are not going to see much of a design overhaul. According to ICE UNIVERSE, the Galaxy S25 Plus will borrow the camera rings from the Galaxy Z Fold 6. Recently, TechnizoConcept created a render on the basis of this information and gave us a good look at what to expect.

However, apart from that, the CAD renders suggest that it will look very similar to the Galaxy S24 Plus. The display size will also remain the same at 6.7-inch with QHD+resolution and 120Hz fast refresh rate. But, this time, you will most likely get to see thinner symmetrical bezels.
And finally, here comes your very first and early look at the #Samsung #GalaxyS25Plus (360° video + sharp 5K renders + dimensions)!

As for the Galaxy S25, while it will look very similar to its older sibling, it will be thinner with dimensions of 146.9 x 70.4 x 7.2mm. In contrast, the Galaxy S24’s dimensions stand at 147 x 70.6 x 7.6mm. You will see the same 6.17-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, though.
Galaxy S25 Series: Expected Processor
While Samsung went back to using only Snapdragon chipsets with the Galaxy S23 series, they changed that tactic with the Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus, offering either Exynos 2400 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, depending on the region. Meanwhile, the S24 Ultra didn’t have an Exynos variant.
Not too long ago, Hankyung, a Korean news outlet, exclusively reported that Samsung will only be using the 3nm-based Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for its upcoming Galaxy S25 series. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 potential release date is expected to be set during the Qualcomm Snapdragon 2024 Summit from October 21 to 23. Well, that’s right in time ahead of the Galaxy Unpacked event.
For those unaware, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is going to be Qualcomm’s latest and greatest. Leaks and reports suggest that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 comes very close to beating Apple’s latest A18 Pro. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 manages to hit clock speeds of 4Ghz as compared to its predecessor’s 3.3Ghz.
However, according to a contradicting report by ZDNET Korea, Samsung is apparently working towards improving its 3nm Exynos 2500. This will most likely be used on the upcoming Galaxy S25 series. So, right now, in terms of the processor used on the upcoming flagships, nothing can be said for sure.
Galaxy S25 Series: Expected Camera Specifications
According to ICE UNIVERSE, the camera module of the phones will be slimmed down quite a bit, to control the bulge a bit. It’s certainly an aesthetic change, but there will be some camera upgrades too.
This is a detailed comparison between S25 and S25 Ultra.
The S25 Ultra is already very thin (8.2mm), but the S25 is even thinner, only 7.2 mm. I think this S25 will definitely become the new favorite of people who like small mobile phones. pic.twitter.com/dpILosU7we— ICE UNIVERSE (@UniverseIce) September 17, 2024
For starters, ICEUNIVERSE revealed that the Galaxy S25 Ultra would stick to the 200MP primary sensor and 50MP periscope sensor with 5x optical zoom of its predecessor. However, instead of the 12MP ultra-wide, we will most likely get to see a 50MP ultrawide sensor. Sadly, it will still use the 10MP 3x telephoto sensor of the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Not too long ago, Samsung launched a trio of new camera sensors. Folks were really expecting to see the new 200MP ISOCELL HP9 telephoto sensor make it to the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Meanwhile, tipster Sperandio4Tech noted that the upgraded ultra-wide could use a new 1/2.76″ JN1 sensor, which is slightly smaller than the one present on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. In addition, the tipster also went on to suggest that the “3X camera will have a new 1/3″ Isocell sensor”.
As for the ISOCELL GNJ, the Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus could pack this 50MP 1/1.57-inch dual-pixel sensor as their primary. The other sensors could remain the same, but no other details have currently surfaced.
However, Galaxy Club noted previously that the Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus will not see any changes in terms of camera sensors and will use the same age-old 50MP sensor. They go on to say, “If exciting things are going to happen to the Galaxy S25’s camera in 2025, it has to happen to the ultra-wide and telephoto cameras”. But, nothing is certain at this point.
Galaxy S25 Series: Possible Battery Sizes
According to multiple leaks and reports, the Galaxy S25 Ultra could feature a 5000mAh unit, yet again. It’s high time Samsung finally used a 6000mAh unit for that big a display. Additionally, the S25 Ultra will use the 45W fast charging support, again. This has been the norm for Samsung ever since the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Galaxy S25: 4000mAh, thickness -0.4mm, 7.2mm
Galaxy S25+: 4900mAh, thickness -0.4mm, 7.3mm
Galaxy S25U: 5000mAh, thickness -0.4mm, 8.2mm— ICE UNIVERSE (@UniverseIce) September 17, 2024
On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus will pack a 4,900mAh battery unit. Meanwhile, the regular Galaxy S24 will arrive with a 4,000mAh battery. Both these phones may cap at 25W fast charging, yet again.
Galaxy S25 Series: Potential Pricing
When it comes to pricing, there’s no concrete info right now. However, we can take a look at Samsung’s track record to decode a bit of it. Here’s a rundown of how Samsung has been pricing its devices since the Galaxy S21 lineup:
- Galaxy S21 Series: S21 ($799.99), S21 Plus ($999.99), S21 Ultra ($1079.99)
- Galaxy S22 Series: S22 ($799.99), S22 Plus ($999.99), S22 Ultra ($1,199.99)
- Galaxy S23 Series: S23 ($799.99), S23 Plus ($999.99), S23 Ultra ($1,199.99)
- Galaxy S24 Series: S24 ($799.99), S24 Plus ($999.99), S24 Ultra ($1,299.99)
Going by that, you can expect to see the base models of Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus retain the same $799.99 and $999.99, respectively. Now, since the Galaxy S24 Ultra already saw a $100 price increment this year, the Galaxy S25 Ultra could either retain that $1,299.99 pricing or further increase it by a bit.
And, that brings us to the end of the rocky road of Galaxy S25 leaks. Take almost everything with a pinch of salt, as Samsung has been super discreet about the upcoming flagships. So, only time will tell what kind of upgrades and improvements we’re looking at. And, we will be certainly keeping you updated right here. So, stay tuned.
