What is Receiptify?

Receiptify is a third-party service, that creates a digital receipt of your top songs, artists, or genres. You need to log in to the service using your Spotify account and agree to its terms to use it. The tool has a pretty basic interface making it easy to use. You can customize your receipt by choosing from a bunch of provided options.

It’s an open-source app created by Michelle Lui when she was inspired by the work of the Instagram account: @albumreceipts. I like to think of it as a new sort of nostalgic take on Spotify wrapped.

How to Revoke Spotify Access from Receiptify

It is reasonable to be cautious of a third-party tool that has access to all of your Spotify metrics. But the tool’s creator confirms that your data is not being stored or use maliciously. If you still have concerns, follow these steps to revoke Receiptify’s permission to access your account.

  1. Using a browser, visit Spotify’s your apps page.
  2. Here, click on Remove Access next to “receiptify”.

Once done, Receiptify will have no longer access to your Spotify account.

This is how you can create your own receipt of your favorite Spotify songs. Pretty cool right? I really like the fact that the person who created the tool was inspired by someone and used her skills to allow others to recreate something similar. What are your thoughts about Receiptify?
