- There will be copper chests that spawn alongside the Copper Golems where they can store and sort out the items inside.
- The next update is set to make copper a highly valuable ore that can be used to make early-game tools, weapons, and gear.
Minecraft has teased its third game drop of the year 2025, and it’s already beginning to shake things up with the addition of one of the mobs from a previous mob vote, the copper golem. Apart from the adorable new helper at your base, you will also be able to make new functional copper chests, copper armor, tools, and more. As the update will revolve around copper, let’s uncover what more to expect from the next Minecraft drop.
Copper Golems Are Here in Minecraft
Once a mob vote dream, the Copper Golem is finally becoming a reality in Minecraft. However, these aren’t a natural spawn in the game. Similar to the Snow and Iron Golems, you need to place a carved pumpkin head on top of a copper block to make the Copper Golem alive.

These cute little creatures will help in sorting out inventory and add a special charm to your place. As time passes in the game, the golem will develop a gorgeous patina, giving it a worn-out look. You can then preserve with wax or let them evolve further.
A New Tier of Copper Tools, Weapons, and Armor in Minecraft
Along with Copper Golems comes the copper chests. These aren’t available the moment you start a new world. Rather, the first copper chests always spawn alongside a Copper Golem, and later, you can pick them up to know their crafting recipe.
The copper chests have a mechanic similar to copper blocks and oxidize over time. So, use wax to preserve their color and prevent them from wearing down.

Finally, the next Minecraft drop officially adds copper equipment tier, which sits between stone and iron. This allows you to craft copper pickaxes, swords, armor sets, and all other tools.
Naturally, the copper gear is stronger than stone ones but weaker than iron, making it a perfect early game material for crafting items. These Golems were originally introduced in the mob vote but didn’t win. However, a lot of crafters wanted it to be added to the game as well. So the next drop will mark the return of the fan-favorite idea.
