Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s Brand New Day suit, titled “Fresh Start Suit,” didn’t get the fresh start it deserved. Players complained that the suit had missing textures on its lenses, incorrect colors, and no visual damage at lower health. Fortunately, the latest Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 hotfix, released on August 7, 2026, fixes all problems with the brand-new suit.
Insomniac released a new hotfix v1.005.001 for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 earlier today, and it is now available to download on PlayStation 5 consoles. This hotfix has made the Fresh Start Suit more screen-accurate to the Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie, fixed its orange colors to look more red, and fixed the missing textures on Spider-Man’s lenses.
The Fresh Start suit now also takes suit damage at lower health, thanks to Insomniac’s latest hotfix for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. So, PS5 and PS5 Pro players can now finally live out their wall-crawling fantasies inspired by the MCU’s newest billion-dollar outing. As for PC players, they need to wait a bit longer, according to Insomniac Director James Stevenson on X.
Recently, the addition of the Fresh Start Suit to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day drove a surge in players trying out Insomniac’s Spider-Man games. With this Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 hotfix, the Fresh Start Suit receives the visual improvements fans were asking for, giving Peter Parker a more polished outfit option.
Moreover, fans are now making side-by-side comparisons for Spider-Man: Brand New Day with Insomniac’s Spider-Man games, further encouraging players to swing by Marvel’s New York one more time.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s previous update also added Peter’s suit from Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls, but since it was already game-accurate, it didn’t need a hotfix. However, the Fresh Start Suit needed one badly, and it’s great to see Insomniac listening to the players as soon as they did.
Insomniac Games is now gearing up for the release of Marvel’s Wolverine, which debuts on September 15, 2026, exclusively on PlayStation 5 consoles.
