Marvel Rivals Season 9 Early Patch Notes for Version 20260710 Update
Marvel Rivals Season 9 is releasing on July 10, 2026, at 9 AM UTC. Ahead of the major seasonal update, NetEase has revealed the exciting new content and gameplay changes arriving later this week. If you are waiting for the new season, here is everything new coming to the game in the Marvel Rivals Season 9 update:
New Heroes: Jubilee and The Hood
It’s now official that Jubilee and The Hood are the new playable heroes in Marvel Rivals Season 9. Guangguang confirmed that Jubilee will make her debut in the game first, followed by The Hood. If you are curious about Jubilee’s role in the game, she is revealed to be a Strategist. The mutant sets off fireworks on the battlefield! These explosive energy blasts can heal allies while also dealing serious damage to enemies.
Black Widow Character Rework
NetEase Games has finally answered the prayers of Black Widow mains. Natasha Romanoff is finally getting her long-awaited rework in Marvel Rivals Season 9. With massive improvements to her kit, Black Widow is now an aggressive flanking Duelist in the game. It should be noted that this isn’t just a minor rework. Black Widow has received a new ultimate, enhanced primary attacks, and several new abilities that significantly altered her playstyle.
Team-Up Ability Overhaul
Since the current team-up abilities in Marvel Rivals have grown stale lately, devs have completely revamped the system in Marvel Rivals Season 9. Starting next season, every hero will have two team-up abilities. Players need to choose between the two in the spawn room. As the team-up anchor buff system has been eliminated, players can perform the team-up without having the respective hero on the team.
However, if the right partner is on your team, then the team-up ability automatically gains a powerful enhanced effect. More original team-up abilities have been added to the game, and a few classics such as Ammo Overload and Metallic Chaos have also returned.

Devs are introducing a new Regenerative Shield mechanic for highly mobile flanking characters in Marvel Rivals Season 9. All these characters’ base health has been reduced, and they now get an additional Regenerative Shield. You can easily spot the Regenerative Shield, highlighted in green on the health bar.
If the diving heroes can stay alive without getting any damage for five seconds, then the lost health will be regenerated automatically (20% of max health per second). The introduction of the Regenerative Shield mechanic now gives an advantage to the dive Vanguards and Duelists. So, we will see a major shift in the Marvel Rivals ban rates next season.
New Map: Thebes
After a long time, players are getting a new map in Marvel Rivals Season 9. The long-rumored Thebes map is finally being added to the game on July 23, 2026. NetEase has confirmed that Thebes will be a Convoy map in the game. So, look forward to playing in an ancient Egypt-inspired setting very soon.
Marvel Rivals Season 9 Battlepass
Finally, players got a closer look at Marvel Rivals Season 9 battle pass today. It is titled “The Faith-Harvesting Engine,” and all the skins are inspired by an Egyptian aesthetic.
