Is Minecraft 1.21 Optifine Available?
At the time of writing, Optifine is now available to download for the new Minecraft 1.21 update. However, it is not the official version of the mod but an unofficial version that has been developed by a community member.
The Optifine team recently posted a new update letting us know that the mod maker sp614x is not currently able to work on Optifine, so the official release is not yet available and it’s unknown when it’ll be ready. How to Download and Install Optifine
Although Optifine 1.21 is not out yet, we have listed the steps you can follow to download and install this mod once it is available.
Download Optifine
- To download Optifine, visit the Downloads page on the official website linked here.
- Now, click on the “Download” button below the Minecraft 1.21 version. This will bring you to another website showing ads, which you can ignore and click on the “Skip” button after a few seconds in the top right corner.
- Then click on the “Download” button again. This will download a .jar file to your device, which is the Optifine installer.
Install Optifine
- Run the installer, change the destination folder if you want, and click on “Install“. After a couple of seconds, the Optifine will be ready to use.
- Load up Minecraft Launcher and left of the Play button, you’ll see that Optifine is selected. If it is not, simply click on the drop-down menu and select it from there. Then, click on “Play” and enjoy better performance and shader support!
