Just when we thought Embark Studios were done adding new arcs to the game, the devs have introduced a brand-new ARC threat to the game. It is called the Vaporizer, well-known for vaporizing raiders with its powerful laser beams. Vaporizer is challenging Shredders for the title of the most lethal arcs in the game. So, if you are looking for a way to defeat the new ARC enemy with ease, find out the best strategy to kill the Vaporizer in Arc Raiders here.

Arc Raiders Vaporizer Location

Fortunately, the new Vaporizer is only found on the new map condition, Close Scrutiny, in Arc Raiders. Devs have added this new arc to closely guard the Assessor probes containing lucrative resources. So, if you are actively on a hunt for Vaporizers, make sure to set the destination as a map with the Close Scrutiny map condition.

Before you grab the right gear to defeat a vaporizer, you need to know the arc’s details first. For starters, Vaporizer’s weakness is its thrusters, like a Shredder. So here is everything you need to know about the new ARC threat you are facing:

Here are our recommendations for the best loadout you can prepare to fight against a Vaporizer in Arc Raiders:

Shields and Augments

Since we are dealing with a critical-level arc threat, it is wise to go with a medium or heavy shield. So, make sure to equip an augment like Combat MK.2 or higher, which allows you to put on big shields in the game.

Weapons

As for the weapons, we recommend Hullcracker or Equalizer, some of the best weapons in Arc Raiders, to battle against a Vaporizer. Even with a very strong ARC Armor penetration weapon, it will take some time to finish off a Vaporizer. But if you cannot afford an epic weapon like Hullcracker, you can switch to an upgraded version of Anvil or Renegade to aim for the Vaporizer’s weakness.

Healing Items

As usual, you will always need plenty of bandages and shield rechargers in this fight against a terrifying arc. So, pack up enough Herbal Bandages, sterlized bandages, Vita shots, or even Vita Spray for healing items. On the other hand, grab Shield Rechargers as you may require as well.

Grenades and Gadgets

Based on our current experience fighting against a Vaporizer, we don’t recommend grenades for now. But we do suggest picking up a barricade kit. When we tried attacking the new arc with Wolfpacks in Arc Raiders, it immediately used its Energy Shield to shield itself from the incoming grenades. It’s difficult to time and utilize the opening to throw grenades, so use them only if you are quick with grenades.

If you are playing the Close Scrutiny map condition and planning to loot the Assessors, you need to clear the Vaporizers in your way. As we mentioned earlier, the Vaporizer also has a weakness, like all the ARC enemies, it is none other than its thrusters. With that in mind, here are our best tips to take down a Vaporizer in Arc Raiders:

1. Go Hunting With Your Squad

While it is possible to fight against a Vaporizer on your own, we highly recommend that you gather your squad and begin your hunt. Since it is a new arc with an unpredictable attack pattern, the more the merrier in a fight against this scary ARC threat.

2. Fight Against a Vaporizer Only If There Is a Cover

It is impossible to fight against a Vaporizer without any cover, as the new ARC threat instantly sets you on fire with its laser attack. So, make sure to get into a building nearby once you trigger the Vaporizer by firing a shot. Without a cover, you will be dead lying on the ground in seconds. In all our battles, fighting against a Vaporizer with a proper cover helped us more than we initially realized.

3. Wait for the Opening and Aim For Its Weakness

Once a Vaporizer spots you, it immediately tracks you with its laser, like a Rocketeer, and unleashes its primary attack, a laser beam. Avoid this laser beam at all costs as it instantly melts your health and shields by getting into a cover. Also, even if the Vaporizer scorches the ground, do not get near it, as you will still catch fire.

So, once it’s done with the laser attack, utilize the opening and try to land some shots. Even if you couldn’t land some proper hits, don’t engage rapidly and wait for the opening again. The Vaporizer also turns on its energy shield just like a Matriarch in Arc Raiders, during which it won’t attack you, and you won’t be able to damage the arc.

4. Rinse and Repeat Attacking

Hiding behind a cover during a laser beam attack and shooting at its thrusters are your key to success. Keep repeating it without taking any damage, and voila, the Vaporizer will be on fire soon. Then, you can hit a finishing shot to finally kill the new arc.

In addition, do follow the rules of thumb in Arc Raiders, such as avoiding third-party fights, fighting against many ARC enemies at once, and being aggressive for a better success rate.
