- While you cannot literally re-install apps or games from storage on Android, you can re-install them from the Play Store.
- Provided you're logged into the same account you installed the app from, you can visit Google Play Store> Manage Apps> Installed dropdown> Not Installed and filter by name or installation date.
- The Google Play Store allows you to install multiple apps, so you won't have to restore them one by one.
Cleaning up unnecessary apps is rewarding as you later get tons of free storage to store extra files or install more applications. However, during the same, you may yeet an app or game out of the phone which you may realize much later. If you uninstalled the said app/game a long time ago and no longer remember its name, there is a way to recover deleted apps and games on Android. Here’s how to do it.
The Google Play Store keeps track of apps and games that you’ve installed in the past. While there’s no way to literally “restore” the deleted apps and games back from your internal storage, you could go to the place where you see all the apps you’ve installed or tried to install in the past and mass-install them on your Android device.
- Open the Google Play Store and tap your profile in the top-right corner.
- Go to Manage apps & devices and then tap the Manage tab.
- Tap the first dropdown tag on the same page and choose “Not installed.”
- Tap the Games tag to check the games you’ve installed recently. For apps, keep it deselected.
- Similarly, you can use the filter on the right side below the tags to Sort by Name or Recently updated.
- Sorting apps by “Recently updated” will show you apps you installed recently.
- Find and tap the checkboxes on the right for the apps you want to install again.
- Once done, click the download icon at the top-right corner, beside the delete icon.
- Be sure to check you have enough storage to accommodate the new apps. And voila! That’s how you recover deleted apps and games on Android.
While there’s no way to search for an app in the Manage section, you could filter by name if you even barely remember the first letter of the app’s name. Even so, if your Google account is old with lots of app install history, it’d take you a lot of time to land on the app you’re looking for.
