  • As per rumors, GTA 6 will be in Vice City for most of its gameplay.
  • Although there is no official GTA 6 map yet, speculations suggest that it will resemble real-life Miami.

GTA 6 is set in Leonida state, and Vice City is a part of this massive state. We see a whole overview of the Vice City map that resembles Miami. So, if we go by how Rockstar Games likes to keep things closer to reality, Leonida State might be based on the state of Florida, especially if we see the IRL Easter eggs in GTA 6.

GTA 6 Vice City Map

Like its real-world inspiration, Miami, Vice City in GTA 6 is characterized by vibrant neon lights, bustling nightclubs, and scenic beaches. Both trailers highlight densely populated Vice City beaches, showcasing crowd density that exceeds previous Grand Theft Auto titles. GTA 6 trailer 2 specifically showcased a more in-depth look at the other parts of Leonida state, including the lakes, rivers, and ports.

Vice City’s main strip, a potential central hub, is depicted as a chaotic mix of traffic, pedestrians, lights, and music. Beyond Vice City, the trailer reveals rural areas resembling Florida’s neighboring states like Georgia, with expansive highways and natural landscapes. A glimpse of GTA 6’s Everglades equivalent shows flooded grasslands teeming with wildlife and accessible by airboat.

GTA 6 Major Locations and Landmarks (Confirmed)

  • GTA 6 official screenshots revealed the major locations where the game will take place.
  • Vice City, USA, is the primary location where the majority of the game is set.
  • Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga are other major areas that Rockstar Games revealed as the new landmarks for GTA 6.

Vice City

Even though the ’80s are behind us, Vice City remains America’s vibrant hub for sun and excitement. This single city encapsulates American glamour, ambition, and avarice. Every district teems with unique character, ranging from Ocean Beach’s pastel art deco hotels and dazzling white sands to Little Cuba’s lively bakeries and the Tisha-Wocka flea market’s knock-off treasures, and extending to VC Port, the globe’s cruise ship epicenter.

Leonida Keys

Life on this tropical archipelago offers a relaxed vibe with no need to dress up, and the bars are well-stocked. It’s an unpretentious but comfortable existence. You can easily grab a drink and unwind in a deck chair. However, be aware that this tranquility sits right beside some of the most stunning yet treacherous waters in America.

Grassrivers

Leonida’s crown embraces an untamable jewel, a primordial expanse where the surface hides untold mysteries. Though alligators are a known sight, the mangroves conceal far more lethal hunters and peculiar wonders.

Port Gellhorn

The once-popular coast of Leonida has fallen into neglect. Tourism has been replaced by an economy centered on the consumption of malt liquor, painkillers, and energy drinks. Travel by dirt bike is common, but caution is advised regarding personal belongings.

Ambrosia

Leonida’s challenges regarding health and wealth begin in this GTA 6 location. American industry and traditional values are paramount here, regardless of the cost. The Allied Crystal sugar refinery is the primary employer, while a local biker gang holds considerable sway.

Mount Kalaga National Park

The northern reaches of the state offer a sanctuary of space. Bordering this expanse, Mount Kalaga, a national landmark, is a haven for hunting, fishing, and off-road exploration. The rich backwoods in the vicinity are home to hillbilly mystics and paranoid radicals, living beyond the gaze of officialdom.

GTA 6 Map Size (Speculations)

  • The GTA 6 map project suggests that the map will be the biggest so far in the franchise.
  • If we do a GTA 5 vs GTA 6 map comparison, the GTA 6 map will be twice the size.
  • As per the mapping project, the GTA 6 map is 70% bigger than GTA 5.

Leaks and fan theories suggest a map roughly twice the size of GTA 5, featuring three major cities, sub-cities, a central lake (Lake Leonida), and various landmarks that mirror Miami. The game world includes a functional tram system, an airport, and a diverse range of enterable interiors, such as nightclubs, supermarkets, and gun stores.

Wildlife, including alligators and bobcats, and environmental details, such as toxic waste indicators, are present in the game. Details from leaks show the protagonist’s apartments and a hotel called Kington Hotel, which features a pool party with live music.

Numerous attempts have been made to estimate and reconstruct the Grand Theft Auto 6 map using trailer footage and available information. Among these efforts, Dark Space’s YouTube video is particularly compelling. User Dark Space compiled theoretical data from Reddit and integrated real-world topographical data, resulting in a map reconstruction that is considered, so far, the most realistic.

Building upon Dark Space’s work, another user purportedly used mathematical calculations to estimate that the GTA 6 map will be 70% larger than that of GTA 5. Although these estimations seem very well put together, it’s important to approach these estimations with caution, as the complete GTA 6 map remains officially unrevealed.

Will the GTA 6 Map Get New Cities Over Time?

One of the questions that has lingered for a while regarding the GTA 6 map is whether there will be more cities added to the game after its release. While Grand Theft Auto is known to release the full map right away, we cannot deny the success of GTA Online. And with the rumors of Rockstar Games creating a GTA 6 metaverse, we might get a new city with each seasonal update.

While there’s no official confirmation, a Grand Theft Auto map encompassing all previous cities is a highly desired concept among fans. Fans have already created custom maps merging locations like Liberty City, Los Santos, and Vice City, showcasing the potential of such an interconnected world. Although that seems quite unlikely if GTA 6 goes toward the direction of a Fortnite-like map that keeps changing, we might see more iconic cities in the game.

That is all we know about the GTA 6 map and its locations so far. Do you think the map size of Grand Theft Auto 6 will be the biggest ever? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
