10 Details You Probably Missed in the Genshin Impact 5.0 Natlan Trailer

The Genshin Impact 5.0 Natlan trailer — Flowers Resplendent on the Sun-Scorched Sojourn — has been released. The trailer is packed with tons of action and important lore details right from the get-go. From Mavuika‘s fight with Il Capitano to lore drops of Natlan’s history and potential story twist hints, Hoyoverse did not hold back while creating this trailer.

You may have likely missed much of the information and possible story hints dropped in the trailer. But don’t worry, as I have created a list of 10 important details you may have missed in the Genshin Impact Natlan trailer.

1. The Old Pyro Archon is Dead

Around the start of the trailer, we get a bit of lore on Natlan’s history and old Pyro Archon. Someone in the trailer, Iansan having the highest possibility, explains that the “then-Pyro Archon” and heroes from every tribe teamed up to repel the Abyss. Later, Mualani says that the “current Archon” achieved an overwhelming victory.

This clearly means that the Pyro Archon responsible for repelling the Abyss is not the current Pyro Archon, and the current Pyro Archon is likely being referred to Mavuika. If I had to guess who the old Pyro Archon was, then it would be Xbalanque, which the recently leaked Natlan murals point towards.

2. Night Kingdom Exists Between Life and Death

The Night Kingdom features a big chunk of the Natlan trailer, making it seem very important for the version 5.0 Archon quest. But where is this Night Kingdom?

According to the trailer, we learn that the Abyss is slowly spreading in the Night Kingdom, while the Abyss has been repelled in Natlan. We also learn that you need to triumph over the Abyss to earn the right to be revived, while defeat only means death and destruction to the person’s Ancient name.

The fact that it mentions “getting revived” as a way to leave the Night Kingdom, makes it sound like a place between Life and Death. Next, another line mentions that “There is only one way to awaken you all from your willing blindness,” which I think also at the Night Kingdom being accessible to players through sleep. The Dream world is often mentioned as a world between Life and Death in several different texts, so it can also be something the Genshin writers plan to implement.

3. The Sacred Flame Keeps the Abyss Away

Natlan has a long history with the Abyss and it is explicitly mentioned that the old Pyro Archon teamed up with heroes from all the tribes to repel the Abyss from Natlan. However, what you might have not caught is that mention of the Sacred Flame keeping the Abyss away.

The trailer mentions that the Sacred Flame must burn eternally to keep the Abyss away. One of the main purpose of the Pilgrimage (Natlan’s Tournament) is to collect “Contending Fire” from the battles, which keeps the Sacred Flame burning.

4. Traveler Teams Up with a Few Allies

The Traveler is always accompanied by allies in every Archon quest, and it appears that the first few allies in Natlan would be Chasca, Kachina, Mualani, and Iansan. There is a scene in the trailer where it shows the four of them appearing at the same time in the Night Kingdom.

Even at the ending scene of the Traveler appearing to escape from the Night Kingdom, we see him being accompanied by only these 4 new allies. Kinich also makes an appearance, but only to fight an enemy and he isn’t shown directly traveling with the Traveler.

5. Mavuika’s Hair Turns into Literal Fire

Mavuika and Il Capitano’s fight was the biggest highlight of the Genshin Impact Natlan trailer. An interesting part about Mavuika during the fight was that her hair literally turned into fire when she charged at Il Capitano. This can be her form while using her Ultimate attack, as we don’t see her hair turn into fire when she does her normal attacks.

Whichever the case, this is a really cool addition to Mavuika’s design, and players who have missed this nifty detail in the trailer will also appreciate it greatly.

6. Iansan is an Electro Vision User

Iansan is currently one of the most mysterious characters in the upcoming Natlan update. She was first revealed in a trailer two years ago, becoming the only revealed Natlan character other than Venessa, until the Natlan teasers. Even in the Ignition Natlan teaser, she appeared for only a couple of seconds showing barely anything about herself.

The new Genshin Impact 5.0 trailer finally shows her in action, making it apparent that she will accompany the Traveler from the get-go and play a major role in the story. If you pay close attention to the trailer, you will also see Iansan in action. During the trailer, Iansan uses Electro attacks on an enemy, almost confirming to hold an Electro vision.

7. Natlan is on the Verge of Destruction

During the trailer, Mavuika mentions that Natlan is on the verge of destruction, having less than a year before total devastation. However, at the start of the trailer, Mualani mentions that Mavuika achieved an overwhelming victory with the result obvious from the beginning. Both these comments don’t go together, which means that the overwhelming victory was a false statement or a lie.

Il Capitano further hints about this when he says Mavuika’s plans have come to an impasse and now it falls to him to create new rules for Natlan. There is a possibility that Mavuika has lied to the people of Natlan.

8. Mavuika May Not Be The Pyro Archon

Continuing on the possibility of Mavuika lying to the people of Natlan, another big plot twist can be that she is not the real Pyro Archon. Although there have already been many theories about the identity of the Pyro Archon, Il Capitano’s comment further amplifies the community’s doubts.

During the trailer, Il Capitano asks Mavuika, “What use is the Gnosis in your hands?”, to which Mavuika feigns ignorance. Normally, the Gnosis is always with the Archon, which allows them to directly tap into the energy from Celestia and is their proof as an Archon.

So, it should be obvious why the Gnosis is with Mavuika unless Il Capitano knows that Mavuika is not the current Pyro Archon.

9. Il Capitano is a Cryo Vision User

Talking about Il Capitano, we finally got to see the strongest Fatui Harbinger in action and it revealed a lot of interesting details about him. First, Il Capitano creates a one-handed sword, which makes him appear to be a Sword user. Other than that, the Sword he creates appears to be made of Ice. This may further hint that Il Capitano is a Cryo vision user.

However, there are also leaks about Il Capitano where he is mentioned to not be a native of Teyvat, and said to be borrowing a vision from the Tsaritsa. Whichever the case, it appears at the moment that Il Capitano is a Cryo user.

10. The Old Pyro Archon Appears In the Trailer

Another interesting fact that you might have missed in the Natlan trailer is the appearance of the Old Pyro Archon and the heroes from each tribe that initially repelled the Abyss from Natlan. Although not in person, we get a very brief look of Mavuika looking at a bright sign in the sky. This sign had the Pyro symbol at the center with 6 other indecipherable symbols around it.

The sign in the sky might be the seal of protection created by the old Pyro archon and the Tribe heroes, which is currently fueled by the Sacred Flame. There is also a possibility that it holds the actual Pyro archon and the heroes of the tribes, as Mavuika was shown to talk to a similar symbol during the Ignition teaser.

So, these are all the hidden details in the Natlan trailer that you might’ve missed. Share any detail we missed in the post in the comment section, and don’t forget to leave your opinion on the trailer and the upcoming Natlan region.
