We are living in a time which is really good for a smartphone buyer. Good phones are getting cheap and cheap phones are getting better. Now you can find good smartphones under 10000 rupees, something which was not possible just a couple of years back. That said, choosing the right smartphone can be difficult as there are a ton of options out there and you don’t want to invest in a smartphone which you will regret buying just a couple of weeks later. That’s why we have created this list to help our readers to make the right choice. So, if you are looking for a good budget smartphone and don’t know which one to get, here are the 10 best phones under 10000 INR that you can buy.
Best Smartphones Under 10000 INR
1. Redmi Y2
Xiaomi launched a new Y-series of smartphones to woo all the selfie-lovers out there, and with the release of the latest smartphone in the series; the Redmi Y2, the company might just win their hearts. Let me just clarify this at the start, you are neither buying this phone for its display nor for its processing power. You are buying this smartphone for one reason and one reason alone, and that reason is its front-facing camera. The Redmi Y2 brings a 16MP AI-powered front-facing camera with LED flash which promises to take great selfies. The primary cameras at the back are also not half bad as it brings a dual-camera setup with 12MP+5MP sensors. As I said, its cameras, especially the selfie one, are the USP of the device.
Getting past the cameras, the smartphone brings a plastic body with a brushed metallic finish on the back which doesn’t feel cheap. That said, it also cannot compete with the smartphones with the metallic body in this price range. When it comes to the display, the smartphone brings a big 5.99-inch HD+ display (1440*720) which is quite frankly a letdown. Thankfully, Xiaomi has not cut any corners in the processor department as the phone brings the Snapdragon 625 processor along with Adreno 506 GPU. The phone pairs this with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage with support for microSD card. As you can see from the specs, the phone is clearly focused on users with love for selfies, and if you are one of them, you should definitely buy this one.

2. Redmi 6
Xiaomi recently unveiled the Redmi 6 smartphone in India and it seems like another great smartphone from Xiaomi. The smartphone packs a beautiful 5.45-inch HD+ (720 x 1440) display with 18:9 aspect ratio and is powered by MediaTek Helio P22 chipset. When it comes to cameras, the Redmi 5 is no slouch as it packs packs a dual rear camera set-up consisting of a primary 12MP sensor with F/2.2 aperture and 1.25μm large pixels, accompanied by a 5MP secondary sensor, while there is a 5MP front camera with a F/2.2 aperture and 1.12um pixels.
Other features include a 3,000 mAh battery, Xiaomi’s MIUI9 interface, 3GB RAM, 32/64GB storage, a microSD card slot which is expandable up to 256GB. Xiaomi’s Redmi line-up has always dominated the budget smartphone segment and Redmi 6 will surely continue this tradition.

3. Realme 2
The original Realme 1 which launched just a few months back was a great budget device, however, it also had a ton of compromises. It seems the company realized its mistakes pretty fast as it has just released its successor, the Realme 2 and it mitigates most of the problems that we encountered while using the original device. For starters, my biggest complaints with Realme 1 was that the smartphone didn’t feature a fingerprint sensor which is almost a crime in 2018. The Realme 2 mitigates that mistake by bringing a fingerprint sensor which is pretty fast and secure.
Talking about its specs, the Realme 2 is being powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor while the Adreno 506 GPU is handling all the GPU related needs. The Snapdragon 450 is plenty fast to handle all your day to day needs, however, don’t expect to play any AAA mobile gaming titles on this one. The smartphone also packs decent cameras for its price with a dual 13 MP + 2 MP camera sensor at the back and an 8 MP camera sensor at the front. Probably my biggest problem with this device is its display. The smartphone only packs a 720p display which wouldn’t have been such a problem if it didn’t have a big 6.2-inch screen. That being said, at its price point, the company had cut some corners, and the display is where Realme decided to do it. If you can live with its low-resolution display, you should definitely check it out.

4. Realme C1
While the Realme 2 is definitely a pretty good phone, if you’ve seen our first impressions video of it, you’ll know that it brings a bunch of downgrades when compared to the Realme 1. That’s where the Realme C1 comes in. The phone brings a design that’s very similar to the Realme 2, and brings almost the exact same specs. There’s a Snapdragon 450 clocked at 1.8GHz, same as the Realme 2, so you can rest assured that the performance here will be decent enough. Although, if you’re planning on playing games like PUBG Mobile on it, you might have to make do with lower-than-preferred graphics and some frame drops here and there. There’s also the exact same 6.2-inch display with the same 720×1520 resolution as the Realme 2.
In terms of cameras, the Realme C1 also packs in a 13MP+2MP dual rear camera, and it’s definitely decent for the price. Plus there’s a 5MP front facing camera for all your selfie needs. There’s also a 4,230 mAh battery here which will definitely last you quite some time, so that’s great. The only compromises this phone makes against the Realme 2, is that it comes with 2GB of RAM instead of 3 in the Realme 2, and it doesn’t have a fingerprint scanner which is something of a sad story in 2018.

5. Redmi Note 5
Xiaomi is undoubtedly the king of budget smartphones in India. Xiaomi has created a cult-like following in India and the company is not slowing down. I can bet you that this is not the only Xiaomi phone that will make the list, but it certainly is the best. The Redmi Note 5 not only packs a 5.99-inch FHD+ display with the popular 18:9 aspect ratio which is mostly found in flagship smartphones, it also packs the power which can push every pixel of that beautiful display.
Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor the smartphone can tackle any and every task that you can throw at it. The smartphone also brings a fairly good set of cameras. The primary sensor 12MP shooter with a f/2.2 aperture which clicks decent pictures. The front camera is a 5MP shooter which is nothing incredible but gets the job done. I also love the fact that the smartphone brings a microSD slot which is expandable up to 128GB. That said my favorite feature of this phone is the massive 4,000 mAh battery that it packs.
The phone can easily last you a whole day. The Redmi Note 5 is available in various versions but the version which we are suggesting here packs 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage, and costs just below INR 10,000.

6. Infinix Note 5 Android One
Infinix is not a popular brand in India and we ourselves don’t feature its phones heavily in our articles. However, with its Infinix Note 5, the company has delivered a smartphone which made us notice it and you should too. The biggest benefit of buying this phone is that it’s an Android One device which means you will be getting a stock Android experience with faster updates without having to deal with a ton of bloatware. That is enough of a reason for me to give this smartphone a recommendation as the phones in this price category normally don’t bring a stock Android experience. But, you don’t have to buy this phone for just that as Infinix is bringing much more to the table.
The smartphone is being powered by a MediaTek P23 octa-core processor which is pretty fast and has 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. It also has a 5.99-inch FHD+ display which is quite good. All that is good, however, where Infinix really delivers is in the camera department. The smartphone packs a 12 MP camera at the back and a 16 MP camera at the front both of which feature AI technology to help you get better photos. It also packs a monstrous 4500 mAh battery which makes it great for power users. Whether you love stock Android or not, this is definitely a phone worth checking out.

7. Honor 7C
Honor 7C is the newest budget device from Honor and it certainly feels like a great device at least on paper. The smartphone is being powered by Qualcomm SDM450 Snapdragon 450 processor while the graphics processing is being handled by Adreno 506 GPU. When it comes to the display, the smartphone is housing a 5.99-inch IPS LCD with a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels. Rest of the hardware specifications include a metal body, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, and support for microSD card up to 256GB
The phone also packs decent cameras with a 13MP + 2MP dual-camera sensor at the back and an 8MP sensor at the front with f/2.0 aperture. If Honor’s previous phones have taught us anything, it’s the fact that their smartphones pack incredibly good cameras at very reasonable prices, and I believe that Honor 7C will not be any different. Lastly, there’s a 3000 mAh which should be able to easily power the device for an entire day.

8. ZenFone Max M1
Yet another smartphone under Rs. 10000 that you can check out, the ZenFone Max M1 comes with a design similar to its more expensive brethren, the ZenFone Max Pro M1. The ZenFone Max M1 comes with a 5.45-inch HD+ IPS LCD display and since it’s a relatively small display, the 720p resolution doesn’t make it look bad. In terms of performance, the phone comes with the Snapdragon 430 processor with the Adreno 505 GPU humming along for graphical needs. The phone will easily handle daily tasks, and some casual games, but don’t expect to play games like PUBG at great frame rates on this. There’s also 3GB of RAM here and 32GB of internal storage that you can expand up to 256GB with a microSD card.
In the photography department, the ZenFone Max M1 features a single 13MP f/2.0 rear camera that performs admirably well especially in good lighting. There’s also a 8MP f/2.0 front facing camera that’s pretty decent for the price. In our usage, selfies from the ZenFone Max M1 were sufficiently good in both good lighting and low light. That said, if you’re a stock Android fan, the ZenFone Max M1 might not be the best fit since it comes with Asus’ ZenUI 5.0 on top of Android Oreo.

9. Lenovo A5
The Lenovo A5 is also a pretty good Android phone that’s priced under Rs. 10,000. The phone comes with a 5.45-inch HD+ IPS LCD display, and features a MediaTek MT6739 processor. While this might sound like a dealbreaker to some, the MT6739 is actually comparable to the Snapdragon 425 in terms of performance, so you can expect decent performance in day to day usage, and even while gaming casually. There’s also 3GB RAM here along with 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 256GB with a microSD card
In terms of cameras, the Lenovo A5 comes with a single 13MP rear camera that is a decent performer. The front camera here is an 8MP shooter and there’s a selfie flash on the phone as well, so taking selfies in low light shouldn’t be a problem. Along with all of that, the Lenovo A5 comes with a massive 4,000 mAh battery to keep things running.
Alternatively, the ZenFone Lite L1 is a pretty decent phone to go with as well, if you’re looking for something with similar performance as the Lenovo A5 at a much lower price. The ZenFone Lite L1 comes with a Snapdragon 430, but only 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The rear camera is 13MP here too, but the front camera is 5MP as compared to 8MP on the Lenovo A5.

10. 10.or D2
Amazon in partnership with Tenor recently launched the 10.or D2 smartphone and it seems like a decent budget smartphone. The phone comes with a 5.45-inch HD+ LTPS 18:9 display, so the phone does look modern. It’s powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad core processor with Adreno 308 600 MHz GPU, up to 3GB RAM and up to 32GB internal memory, which is expandable up to 128GB.
On the camera front, the 10.or D2 comes with a 13MP primary camera and a 5MP front facing camera. While there’s no dual cameras here, the 13MP camera should take some decent photos. Apart from that, the phone comes with a 3,200 mAh battery, dual SIM and dual 4G standby support, and stock Android 8.0 Oreo.
Buy From Amazon: starts at Rs. 6,999
11. Lenovo K9
Another great Android phone under Rs. 10,000 is the Lenovo K9. The phone comes in at Rs. 8,999 and sports a 5.7-inch HD+ IPS LCD display. For performance, the phone has a Helio P22 processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 256GB. The Lenovo K9 is also a gorgeous looking phone with a glass body that looks stunning and also will probably remind you of a Honor phone.
In terms of cameras, the Lenovo K9 comes with a 13MP + 5MP dual rear camera that should be good enough for taking everyday pictures. Plus, since it’s a dual camera you’ll be able to take portrait shots with nice depth effects as well. On the front, the phone has another 13MP + 5MP dual camera so you can take some nice bokeh selfies as well. There’s a front facing flash here too, so selfies in low light should also turn out pretty nice.

12. Redmi 6A
Adding another Xiaomi budget smartphone to the list, the Redmi 6A just recently made its debut in India and it boasts of a ton of changes when compared to its predecessor. The device sports a taller 5.45-inch HD+ display, with an 18:9 aspect ratio and resolution of 1440×720 pixels. Redmi 6A, this time around, isn’t powered by a Snapdragon processor but instead the MediaTek Helio A22 chipset, which is clocked at 2.0GHz. There’s also 2GB of RAM on board, coupled with two storage options – 16GB or 32GB.
In the optics department, the Redmi 6A features a single 13MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie camera, both sporting the same f/2.2 aperture. This pair is capable of clicking some decent photos, recording videos at 1080p (30fps) with ease while also enabling Face Unlock via the front camera. It brings along a plentiful 3,000mAh battery and all necessary connectivity options such as dual 4G support, dedicated microSD card, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, microUSB port, and more. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 9.6 out-of-the-box.
Buy from Amazon: starts at Rs. 5,999
13. Moto E5
Moto E5 is the latest ultra-budget smartphone from Motorola and it certainly deserves a place on this list. Powered by a Qualcomm MSM8917 Snapdragon 425 processor and Adreno 308 GPU, the smartphone performs really well. It’s not the best performing phone on this list, however, it’s also not the worst. The device also brings 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. While I am not unhappy about the internal storage, I do wish that it came with 3 GB of RAM. I am not concerned about the internal storage as the smartphone supports microSD card up to 256 GB which should solve any storage-related issues.
Coming to the front of the device, the Moto E5 packs a 5.7-inch IPS LCD panel which has a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels. Although the 720p screen is a bit of downer on paper, in real-world, it doesn’t look half bad. Finally, the smartphone brings a 13 MP (f/2.0) camera at the back while the 5 MP (f/2.2) sensor is handling all the selfie needs. The cameras take decent pictures, especially in daylight. They are nothing exceptional, however, they do get the job done. The biggest selling point of this device is its UI. The Moto E5 is the only phone on this list which comes with a near stock Android experience and if you want that, you basically have no other options.
Buy from Amazon: ₹10,049
14. Lenovo K6 Power
Lenovo K6 Power is another smartphone which brings an exceptional battery life. The fact that the phone only packs a 5-inch display (1920*1080) and has 4,000 mAh battery means that you can easily last two-days without charging this phone. The phone is powered by Qualcomm MSM8937 Snapdragon 430 processor and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
It also packs a good set of cameras with a 13MP and 8 MP primary and secondary shooter respectively. It also brings the standard 3GB RAM, 32GB ROM and microSD card which can be used to expand the memory up to 256GB. The phone is nothing extraordinary, that said, if you are not a fan of large smartphones and wants something which you can use easily with one-hand, Lenovo K6 Power is a great option.
