10 Best iPhone 8 Plus Screen Protectors You Can Buy

The launch of iPhone 8 Plus might have been overshadowed by the launch of the iPhone X, but that doesn’t mean that it will not sell like crazy. There are many people who are still grieving the death of the headphone jack, and are not ready to sacrifice the home button too. Then there’s the question of price. iPhone X is launching at a record-breaking price of $999 and many people (including me) will not be able to afford that. Add that to the fact that apart from the bezel-less display and Face ID, iPhone X doesn’t bring any other groundbreaking features. For these reasons, many people will still prefer buying iPhone 8 Plus over the iPhone X. If you are one of those people, you will be happy to know that your older cases (if you owned a plus model) will work with your newest iPhone. However, for obvious reasons, you will still need to invest in a good screen protector. To make your work easier, we have created a list of 10 best iPhone 8 Plus screen protectors you can buy:

1. JETech Tempered Screen Protector For iPhone 8 Plus

This screen protector is very good for anyone looking to provide extra protection to their iPhone 8 Plus display. The Screen Protector is made from ultra-thin 0.3 mm hardened tempered glass which will protect your phone’s display against scratches, scuffs, and minor drops. The glass used in this screen protector provides high transparency and high touch response, allowing you to use your iPhone without any hindrance. It is also dust and fingerprint resistant, so you won’t have to clean it every few hours. Since it’s a tempered glass screen protector, it has super easy one push dry installation process. It also comes in a pack of two, which is a great value for your money.

2. Spigen iPhone 8 Plus Screen Protector

Spigen is a well-known brand which makes some really good cases for iPhones and other popular mobile devices. Lately, they have started manufacturing screen-protectors too, and just like their cases, the screen-protectors are really good. The best part is that these screen protectors work really well with Spigen’s own cases. This is a very good thing as some cases and screen-protectors don’t pair well. When it comes to the tempered glass itself, it is very strong and should protect your iPhone 8 Plus’s display. With this tempered glass, you are also getting a lifetime warranty from Spigen.

3. ZAGG InvisibleShield Glass For iPhone 8 Plus

This is a very premium screen protector which provides an edge-to-edge protection to your iPhone’s display. As you might know, the display on the iPhones curved slightly at the edges to meet the metal housing seamlessly. Most of the screen-protectors that you will see in the market (including the above two) cover only the flat portion of the display leaving the curved portion open to damage. However, the Invisible Shield Glass from ZAGG covers the curved part too, resulting in overall protection of your iPhone’s display.

3-zagg

It sports an ion matrix layer which offers edge-to-edge protection for your device, making it resistant to scrapes, impacts, and other damage. The best part is that the glass part only covers the display while the head and the chin of your device is covered with an extra-strong polycarbonate material. There’s no doubt that this is one of the best screen-protectors you can buy for your iPhone 8 Plus, but the only thing holding me back from recommending this to everyone is its price.

4. Anker iPhone 8 Plus GlassGuard

Anker makes the best power banks in the market, period. Hence, I was quite surprised to see a screen-protector made by them. Just like the Zagg’s screen-protector, this one is also a 2.5D curved screen-protector which will cover the entirety your iPhone’s display. The screen protector is made from hardened tempered glass which promises to provide twice the protection of other tempered glass. As always, these claims are pretty subjective and there’s no way to actually prove them. However, what I do know is that since it’s covering the curved part of the display too, it will provide more protection than your average run of the mill screen-protector. The screen protector is also very cheap providing you a great value for your money.

5. Maxboost iPhone 8 Plus Screen Privacy

This is the most unique screen-protector on this list and is for all you privacy concern citizens out there. The screen-protector is coated with chemicals which make it impossible for anyone sitting beside you from peeking and seeing what’s on your iPhone’s display. With this screen-protector on, your device’s display will only be clearly visible to someone looking directly at it. The visibility decreases as the viewing angle increases, and the display stops being visible at 90 degrees or more. It also features hydrophobic and oleophobic coating and an anti-scratch surface to protect your screen from accidental spills, oil residue from fingerprints, bumps, and daily wear-and-tear. However, this will reduce the brightness output of your device, so you will find it hard to look at it, in direct sunlight. If you are ready to make this sacrifice for your privacy, then go for it.

6. amFilm iPhone 8 Plus Screen Protector

This is another good and cheap tempered glass for your iPhone 8 Plus. The screen protector is made from hardened tempered glass which boasts of 99.9% transparency. The glass is also ultra-thin coming at only 0.3 mm thick, is reliable and resilient, and promises full compatibility with touchscreen sensitivity. The glass is also highly durable and scratch resistant. It is also topped with an oleophobic coating to prevent fingerprints and smudges. All in all, it is a pretty good tempered glass which won’t cost you much.

7. Tech Armor iPhone 8 Plus Screen Protector

If you are not a fan of tempered glass and just need a film-based screen-protector which protects your display against scratches and scuffs without adding any thickness what so ever, this one is for you. The screen protector boasts of a multi-layer film-based construction providing the most protection it can. The film-based screen protectors are generally weak against drops, and this is the sacrifice you need to make if you don’t want a tempered glass on your display. However, they are also generally the cheapest, making this one of the cheapest screen-protectors on this list.

This is a precise laser cut tempered glass made with polished, rounded edges and provides 99.99% transparency. It also doesn’t hinder the touch-sensitivity of your iPhone. The tempered glass is hard and should easily protect your device against minor falls and drops. It is pretty easy to install without generating any bubbles.

This also is the thinnest tempered glass on this list coming at only 0.2 mm thick and boasts of 99.9% transparency. Even after packing so many features, this one is also pretty cheap.

I was really torn between the 8 Plus and the X, but fate was forcing my hand as the lighting port in my iPhone 6 would no longer accept a charger cable and my battery was at 25%. I had carried a 6 Plus for a short while and was okay with the form factor, not to mention my aging eyes liked the bigger screen size, so the Standard 8 was never in the picture. The X felt good in the hand and looks pretty sexy with the sans-bezel design. When I looked at the additional $200 and the features that I did not care for (face recognition and animated emoji animals? wtf?) and weighed it against the features of the 8 Plus that I do like (Tried and true thumbprint reader and a Home Button), I just could not pull the trigger on the X, and I walked out with a everything I needed/wanted in the iPhone 8 Plus in Space Gray… which looks pretty sexy in my Speck Case (Black w/transparent back). I am only a few hours into ownership and I am looking for motorcycle mounts and better wireless headsets to better utilize this new piece of technology in my life!
