My Top 3 Fantasy Anime Like Black Clover
Before you can go over the best anime like Black Clover, hear me out on my top 3 favorite picks for anime like Black Clover that are a must-watch for you:
One Piece
If you like Asta, then it’s very hard to ignore someone like the legendary character, Luffy, from One Piece. As Asta shares a lot of traits with the Straw Hat captain, such as marching steadily towards their respective goals, One Piece was the greatest adventure I’ve ever been on, despite the anime not leaning heavily towards magic like in Black Clover.
Jujutsu Kaisen
Jujutsu Kaisen is the most recent sensation in anime history. I fell in love with Gege Akutami’s JJK world due to its dark fantasy setting. The author has done wonders with the cursed magic-based power system here, resulting in some of the best action I’ve ever seen in an anime. So, JJK felt like watching a more of a darker version of Black Clover.
Mushoku Tensei
Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation is one of the best Isekai to come out in recent times. The magical world setting and group of heroes reminded me of Black Clover at times. Though Rudeus isn’t exactly like Asta, you will still be interested in following his journey.
Best Anime Like Black Clover That Every Fan Must Watch
Black Clover has been inspired by many great OG anime like Berserk, Naruto, Bleach, and has also inspired many new gen-anime such as Mashle, Wistoria, etc. Therefore, check out our list of the best anime like Black Clover that are easily a must-watch:
Mashle: Magic and Muscles

- Release Date: 2023 – Present
- Genre: Adventure, Fantasy, Comedy
- Episodes: 3 Seasons; 24+ Episodes
- Director: Tomoya Tanaka
- Studio: A-1 Pictures
- MyAnimeList: 7.78
Mashle: Magic and Muscles, one of the new-gen shonen anime, is a mash-up of Black Clover and Harry Potter. Mash Burnedead, the MC here, is very similar to Asta as he is also born magicless in a world where magic dominates everything. But Mash is born with superhuman strength and has to acquire the Divine Visionary title to prove to everyone who looked down on him.
So, if you are looking for an anime like Black Clover but need it to be comedy-heavy, you will have a great time with Mashle: Magic and Muscles. Although Mashle’s plot sounds similar to Black Clover, it is not a complete rip-off of Yuki Tabata’s work. Two seasons have aired so far, and the third is on the way in 2026. So, make sure to binge-watch the first two seasons before the Mashle season 3 airs later this year.
Fairy Tail

- Release Date: 2009 – 2019
- Genre: Adventure, Fantasy, Comedy, Science-Fiction
- Episodes: 9 Seasons; 328 Episodes

Her wish comes true when she meets Natsu Dragneel, the “Salamander” of Fairy Tail, who invites her to the guild.
The guild has developed a strong trust among the members in their years of fighting against the destruction of the world. Befriending Natsu, Gray, and Erza, Lucy finds herself among the misfits of wizards who never cease to amaze the guild members. However, each adventure somehow hints toward a bigger threat involving Zeref, the feared master of dark magic. The magical setting and quest to become the best magician make Fairy Tail closely similar to Black Clover. The franchise also consists of nine OVA episodes and two feature-length anime films.
The Seven Deadly Sins

- Release Date: 1999 – Present
- Genre: Adventure, Fantasy
- Episodes: 4 Seasons; 96 Episodes

The Seven Deadly Sins takes place in a fantasy world inspired by the European Middle Ages. The feared yet revered Holy Knights protect Britannia and its kingdoms using powerful magic. One day, news spread that a small subset of knights turned their blades against their comrades to overthrow the ruler of Liones. However, they are defeated by the holy knights.
After ten years, the knights themselves overthrow the king and become the tyrannical rulers of the Kingdom of Liones. Legend says the small subset of knights known as the Seven Deadly Sins still continues to exist. The story follows Elizabeth, the third princess of the kingdom of Liones, who embarks on a journey to find and bring together these knights to claim what is rightfully hers. She wants to seek justice in an unjust world. Apart from the anime series, there are two films in the franchise as well.
Wistoria: Wand and Sword

- Release Date: 2024 – Present
- Genre: Action, Fantasy
- Episodes: 2 Seasons; 12+ Episodes
- Director: Tatsuya Yoshihara
- Studio: Actas, Bandai Namco Pictures
- MyAnimeList: 7.9
Black Clover set a trend of MC being born magicless in a magic world, and a lot of new anime have been inspired by it, including Wistoria: Wand and Sword. Will Serfort is born without magic, but his swordsmanship is unparalleled. On the other hand, his friend, Elfaria, is blessed with an incredible level of magical power. Both made a promise to reach the top of the Wizard tower.
While Elfaria is climbing fast with her magical powers, Will will have to carve out his own path with his sword. Again, this synopsis may sound a lot like Black Clover, but I assure you the world-building and lore differ from Black Clover, and you get the same fantasy adventure feeling. Only one season of Wistoria is available to stream now, and the second season is arriving in April 2026.
Soul Eater

- Release Date: 2008 – 2009
- Genre: Action, Comedy, Fantasy, Supernatural

We follow three teams, each consisting of a weapon meister and at least one weapon that can absorb the evil souls to become a Death Scythe. The series shows the journey of these teams to become the best. It makes Soul Eater conceptually similar to Black Clover. Moreover, the presence of Shinigami in Soul Eater also makes it one of the best anime like Death Note you can watch in 2025.
Little Witch Academia

She compensates for her inability to perform magic naturally by determination and is able to make some unique friends along her way. Besides the series, the franchise also consists of two short anime movies.
Bleach

- Director: Hayato Date
- Studio: Pierrot
- MyAnimeList: 8
The anime series follows the coming-of-age story of Naruto Uzumaki. The story takes place in two parts: one when Naruto is a pre-teen, and the second part shows his life as a teenager. Just before the birth of Naruto, a nine-tailed demon fox known as Kyuubi brings havoc to the hidden leaf village of Konohagakure. So, the village head, Fourth Hokage, sacrifices his life and seals the monster in the newborn Naruto.
He grows to become a hyperactive kid whom everyone distances themselves from due to the residing demon in him. He dreams of becoming the leader of the village and makes some great friends and deadly foes on his journey to success. The protagonist striving to become the best against all odds makes Naruto’s story just like Black Clover. This anime is very much like Black Clover, where both protagonists dream of being the best.
