Apple Explains HomePod Settings, Music Playback and Controls in New Videos

Apple’s HomePod Receives FCC Approval, Hints at Imminent Launch

After a lot of delays, Apple finally started shipping out the HomePod speakers last week. And just in time for the launch, the company has shared a trio of tutorial videos for the smart speaker on YouTube.

The videos are uploaded on Apple Support channel, and each of them covers a specific topic on how to use the HomePod speaker. The videos run for close to one minute in length and are linked to Apple’s official support documentation so that you can also read them online at apple.com.

Talking about the videos, the first one tells you how to adjust HomePod settings using the Home application on your iPhone. The video will walk you through adjusting setting such as the linked iCloud account, explicit content, and more.

The next video explains about the controls on top of the HomePod. Apple has highlighted that you can double tap on top of the HomePod to skip to the next track, triple tap to go to the previous track, and tap once to play/pause.

The third and final video explains how to use Siri to play music on HomePod. The video tells you how to adjust the volume using Siri, switch songs, etc. Do make a note that Siri on HomePod will work with only the supported audio sources.

As mentioned earlier, Apple’s HomePod was released last week, and the early reviews have already started coming out. In case you’re still wondering whether to spend $349 on Apple’s HomePod, here’s a quick comparison between Apple’s HomePod, Amazon Echo, and Google Assistant to help you make a decision.
