After a four-year absence, Apple has finally upgraded its over-the-ear headphones – the AirPods Max, with new colors and USB-C connectivity. Let’s take a closer look at what else is new for the AirPods Max.
New AirPods Max: Specs and Features
The new model was leaked prior to its release, but unlike the rumors circulating on the internet, the latest device is just a cosmetic upgrade over the original headphones. The new headphones do come with a USB-C port, however. This keeps the device in line with other Apple products, which have adopted this as a standard due to strict regulations by the EU.
But overall, these new upgrades catch up with the Max with all the latest standards that have become common with other wireless headphones out there. Other than that, they will be available in five new colors: Midnight, Blue, Purple, Orange, and Starlight.
When paired with an iPhone running iOS 18, you can use the new AirPods with personalized spatial audio when listening to music, or watching movies.
If you are planning to buy one, then they will be available for the same price as the older models, starting at $549. It’s good on Apple’s part that they didn’t increase the price. They will be up for purchase from your nearest Apple Store, or you can get them online from Apple’s official website.
