Even as Xiaomi has grown to become one of the biggest smartphone makers in the country, one of the major complaints against the company is that its ‘weekly sales’ policy makes it difficult for some people to get their hands on the devices.
However, starting today, at least one of its latest smartphones is thankfully off the flash sales list. That’s because the Redmi 5 is now available on permanent open sale on Mi.com and Amazon, which means potential buyers will no longer have to register or wait for the weekly flash sales to buy the device.
It’s important to note here that the company isn’t doing away with the policy for all its smartphones, so if you’re looking to buy the Redmi Note 5 or the Redmi Note 5 Pro, you’ll still have to go through the laborious and deeply frustrating process.
As a refresher, the Redmi 5 is Xiaomi’s latest entry-level smartphone in India and is one of the most affordable devices to offer the modern, elongated form factor with a 2:1 display. It was launched last month in three different versions, and comes with multiple offers from Reliance Jio, including Rs. 2,200 instant cashback and 100GB additional data.
