Screamer

Screamer is one of the best racing games out there if you want something a bit more dramatic than a traditional lap around the circuit. It deserves a spot on your weekend playlist, as it comes with a futuristic setting, anime-inspired visuals, and aggressive racing mechanics.

Each driver gets a unique vehicle design, a special ability, and you can participate in tournaments with five competing teams. Instead of focusing exclusively on finishing first, Screamer combines arcade racing with combat-inspired mechanics and a narrative built around the competitor’s motivations.

Family Man

Family Man takes a more personal approach and places you in the shoes of someone struggling to provide for their family while dealing with a dangerous financial situation.

You owe money to the mob you left just three weeks ago to repay your debt. So, you take ordinary jobs and accept some questionable assignments, requiring you to decide how far you’re willing to go to keep your household afloat.

The decisions influence your surrounding community and relationship with your family, which can lead to a darker or brighter outcome. With a bunch of moral dilemmas, this game surely deserves a few hours during the weekend.

ARC Raiders

Arc Raiders is available to all Xbox members during the October event. This is set in a devastated world threatened by dangerous machines. So, you need to scavenge for valuable resources, prepare your equipment, and venture to the surface in search of loot.

The October Xbox Free Play Days promotion also coincides with the game’s first-anniversary celebrations and the arrival of the Arc Raiders Frozen Trail update. There are new dangers to the Rust Belt that give both newcomers and returning players a reason to explore.

High On Life 2

If you enjoy shooters that don’t take themselves too seriously, High on Life 2 offers the perfect experience packed with unusual weapons and bizarre characters.

The story picks up after the events in the prequel, following a bounty hunter who has already saved humanity and is leading a comfortable life. Unfortunately, it doesn’t last, and a mysterious figure has put a bounty on their sister.

The Free Play Days timed trial thus offers an opportunity to sample the adventure before deciding whether you want to buy the game.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl

For players who prefer hostile environments and tense exploration, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl offers a journey into one of the most dangerous fictional landscapes.

This game takes place in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone, a vast open world filled with abandoned settlements, dangerous mutants, and rival factions. You play as a stalker exploring the Zone in search of valuable resources.

While combat is one part of the experience, you must scavenge supplies, navigate unpredictable threats, and decide how to approach encounters with hostile creatures. During the Free Play Days, you can try out the game and then purchase it at a 30% discount.

Little Nightmares III

If you would rather spend your weekend creeping through unsettling environments than blasting aliens, Little Nightmares III is the one you should be trying out now.

The game follows two young friends trapped in a disturbing place known as Nowhere. Their journey takes them through frightening environments filled with puzzles, dangerous creatures, and obstacles that require timing and cooperation.

As with its predecessors, Little Nightmares III builds tension through environments and creatures. So, this would be a fun little experiment if you want to stray away from the usual titles.

Rogue Waters

In Rogue Waters, you play as Captain Cutter, commanding a ship and its crew through a dangerous world filled with rival pirates. Before heading into battle, you can prepare your crew and upgrade your ship at the Pirate Cave Hub as well.

Crew management is important here because you can choose from six classes, develop their skills, and make strategic choices about who joins each expedition. There is a two-hour limited trial period for this game during the weekend, so make your time count.
