Mascara X is a company that makes cosmetic products, and it used Dogpool for testing purposes. As an animal, he couldn’t handle the experiments well and got mutated. In comics, Dogpool has powers similar to Deadpool i.e. regeneration and durability. However, Dogpool’s role in the comics is quite limited as he was killed in Deadpool Kills Deadpool Issue #1.

Many dogs were auditioned for the role of Dogpool, but the one that won the hearts of the creators and Ryan Reynolds was a female dog named Peggy. She received the award for Britain’s ugliest dog, and in an interview, Ryan Reynold revealed that Peggy was in love with him at first sight.
