  • Take-Two has officially filed subpoenas against Microsoft and Discord in the Southern District Court of New York.
  • Take-Two is seeking information from these companies to help identify the CyberLeeks leaker.
  • The user data Take-Two demands includes account IDs, registration email, registration and last-login IP addresses, phone number, and linked connections.

Take-Two, which recently suffered $2.8 billion loss in market cap, has filed several subpoenas against Microsoft and Discord in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Take-Two is now legally demanding user data from the two companies that could help in the hunt to identify the leaker (CyberLeeks) behind the latest GTA 6 leaks.

With just a few days to go before GTA 6’s Extended Look on Netflix, CyberLeeks, a notorious leaker, has shared multiple clips of GTA 6 gameplay. After staying quiet for a few days, Take-Two has officially issued subpoenas to Microsoft and Discord in the Southern District Court of New York on August 20.

Rockstar Games’ parent company is now asking Microsoft and Discord to reveal information about the leakers, including the leakers’ account IDs, registration email, registration and last-login IP addresses, phone number, and linked connections.

Furthermore, Take-Two has clarified that the DMCA subpoenas issued to Microsoft and Discord are solely intended to uncover the identity of the leaker (or leakers) behind the recent GTA 6 gameplay leaks.

“Take-Two, through its counsel of record, has submitted a sworn declaration confirming that the purpose for which the DMCA subpoena is sought is to obtain the identity of an alleged infringer or infringers, and that such information will only be used for the purpose of protecting Take-Two’s right,” the subpoena states.

Take-Two has asked Discord to share user data of ‘CyberLeeks’, who is believed to have access to a playable GTA 6 build, from June 1 to the present for its investigation. “All identifying information associated with all user accounts that are/were members communicating with the Discord server(s) listed below during the time period from June 1, 2026 to present; and for those accounts, provide any associated device/telemetry records where one or more of the tool/file artifacts below were present on the system.”

The following are the list of user data Take-Two has requested from Discord: “For each returned account, provide: the account ID, registration email, registration and last-login IP addresses, phone number, linked connections (Google/Xbox/etc.), any associated device identifiers (MachineGuid/MSA), and content related to Grand Theft Auto (‘GTA’), Rockstar, or Cyberleek from their OneDrive account.”

On the same note, Take-Two has requested that Microsoft provide, by a September 4 deadline, all internal business and investigative records related to CyberLeeks, whom Microsoft is currently investigating. Although Take-Two has finally launched a legal hunt for the GTA 6 leaker, the company has yet to release a statement about the ongoing GTA 6 leaks: the plane gameplay, GTA 6 map, and more.

The leaker shows no sign of stopping. Everyone thought the leaker must have been arrested at this point, as there had been no new leaks for about 24 hours. But they returned and released a new clip of Jason stealing and driving a Truffade Thrax, one of the major GTA 6 cars.

Now, we have to wait and see whether Take-Two can uncover the identities of CyberLeeks and other leakers behind GTA 6 leaks.
