Jujutsu Kaisen has everything a Shonen fan desires: excellent battle scenes, stunning visuals (thanks to MAPPA Studios), an engaging plot, and so on. But it’s the fantastic characters that set this anime apart from the others. Each and every character is well-created and grows on you over time. 25. Noritoshi Kamo

The first time we saw Noritoshi Kamo was during the Kyoto Goodwill event when he took on Megumi in a 1-on-1 battle. He hails from one of the three big families in the Jujutsu world and is the successor of the Kamo Clan. He inherited the cursed blood manipulation technique from his family. It is a technique for manipulating one’s blood and using blood-infused items.

Kamo was seen using blood manipulation in combination with his bow and arrows during the event. He can control the arrows’ trajectory as well as many other things. With his cursed technique, he can quickly construct a cage or a trap using the blood packets he keeps around. Therefore, this cursed technique gives its users plenty of options to attack or defend against the enemy in different ways.

Noritoshi has a great amount of cursed energy, likely equal to that of a Grade 1 cursed spirit. He can manipulate his blood to increase his physical prowess and vitality. Undoubtedly, Noritoshi is the next great sorcerer from the Kamo Clan. But he appears at the tail end of our list, as we are yet to see more of his cursed techniques.

24. Takuma Ino

We were introduced to Takumo Ino in Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie. He made a short cameo in the movie and made his complete debut in Jujutsu Kaisen season 2. He is a Grade 2 sorcerer and is regarded as a buddy of Nanami. He is so close to him that he needs Nanami’s approval to become a Grade 1 sorcerer. Nanami holds him in high regard, and that is a testament to his powers.

In the Shibuya Incident arc (JJK Season 2 Part 2), we are able to see the true powers of Ino against some great opponents. Ino is a superior cursed energy user and is also a skilled hand-to-hand fighter. Takuma’s Auspicious Beasts Summon is an OP technique that is similar to Megumi’s Ten Shadows technique. But he can summon and inherit the features of those beasts instead of summoning them.

23. Mechamaru (Kokichi Muta)

Due to his Heavenly Restriction, Kokichi Muta was born with an extremely weak and fragile physique (that’s opposite to Toji’s). It’s a kind of cursed restriction that has an impact on the cursed energy in exchange for enhancements or restrictions to physical appearance. His physical body may have been constrained by this restriction. But, with his vast amount of cursed energy and puppet manipulation jujutsu, he uses a mechanical-cursed corpse known as Mechamaru. But in season 2, in exchange for spying on the Jujutsu schools, he was able to get his original body back with the help of Mahito. But that didn’t last long due to his sudden death after that.

In the first season, during his fight with Panda at the Kyoto Goodwill event, the use of Ultimate Mechamaru disregarded the frailty of his physical body. Now, we witnessed the peak of his powers with his original physique and potential, with which he almost killed Mahito. It gave the mechanical corpse abilities similar to those of Iron Man (one of the most powerful Avengers in Marvel), like Ultra Shield, boost, cannon, ultimate cannon, and other abilities. Mechamaru was a semi-grade 1 sorcerer, and his final fight proved that he was one of the most powerful JJK characters.

22. Maki Zenin

Maki was mistreated and rejected by her own family since she was born a non-sorcerer into one of the three major sorcerer families. She left the Zenin clan and started her quest to become one of the greatest sorcerers in the Jujutsu world. Currently, Maki is stuck at Grade 4 sorcerer rank as the Zenin clan controls the Sorcerer society and doesn’t want her to rank up. Despite not being able to see cursed spirits without her glasses and her difficulty controlling cursed energy, Maki has made up for that with her strong combat skills and mastery of cursed weapons.

She was able to fight against Hanami and show off her skills during the Kyoto Goodwill Event. Maki was even constantly mentioned as the weakest during the Shibuya Incident arc. But that did not stop her from giving everything during her fights. Apart from her fighting skills, Maki is also known to have trained Yuta and Megumi, which shows off her teaching skills.

Haters can keep dissing Maki, but she will rise from the ashes like a phoenix very soon (IYKYK!). So, Maki is another strong contender for the strongest characters in the anime.

21. Panda

You may have thought Panda was actually a panda animal at the beginning of the anime, but he isn’t one. Panda is a mutated-cursed corpse created by Principal Masamichi Yaga of Tokyo Jujutsu High. Panda is an independent cursed corpse with its own pool of cursed energy. He does not rely on the Principal for cursed energy and can even exorcise curses with his physical abilities alone.

Panda is powered by three cores that exist within his body. These are the balanced-type Panda, the Power-type Gorilla, and the third one, a Triceratops or Rhino hybrid. Panda is currently a Grade 2 sorcerer in the Jujutsu world.

Panda can transform into a more powerful and swifter version of himself by swapping his cores, thanks to his enormous supply of cursed energy. Only two Panda variants have been shown in the anime so far, and the third one may appear in the upcoming season. Due to the nature of his body, Panda naturally has strong physical and defensive powers.

20. Atsuya Kusakabe

Like many other characters in this list, Atsuya Kusakabe was also introduced in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2. For those who don’t know, he is a Grade 1 sorcerer and serves as an instructor like Gojo, Utahime, and many others at Tokyo Jujutsu High. He is the only sorcerer to make it to Grade 1 without having an innate technique, according to Mei Mei. He is a highly skilled swordsman, and his skills’ worth was instantly recognized by Kenjaku during the climax of the Shibuya arc.

19. Hanami

Along with Jogo and Mahito, Hanami is also a special-grade cursed spirit and one of the prominent characters in JJK. Hanami has an odd impulse to kill people because of the way people have mistreated nature. In a flashback cutscene in the anime, Mahito addressed Hanami’s powers by saying, “You’re much stronger, aren’t you?”

Hanami possesses strong skills in the palm of his hand and can command plants at will. He can move swiftly, has amazing strength, and can endure attacks. Hanami can manipulate plants to the point that he can conceal himself inside and vanish from the scene, which must be his special ability.

During the Sukuna Finger Retrieval Mission, Hanami gave a tough time to all the high school students, including Toge Inumaki, Noritoshi Kamo, and many others. Even after Gojo used his Purple Hollow technique, he was able to escape and survive. But that didn’t last long, as Satoru killed him by ripping apart his branches and crushing him to death with his cursed technique. But still, Hanami deserves a spot on our list because of his extraordinary abilities.

18. Nobara Kugisaki

Despite joining Jujutsu High as a first-year alongside Yuji and Megumi, Nobara Kugisaki totally stole the show in the finale. Just when we thought there weren’t enough of her ferocious moments throughout the Jujutsu Kaisen series, she brought her A-game to the fight. Nobara displayed her valiant strength and powerful “hairpin” technique during her battle with the death-fighting siblings Eso and Kechizu and thoroughly dominated them. Her straw doll technique has multiple sub-techniques that are powerful when used with her cursed tools— a hammer and nails.

In her battle with the death-womb siblings, Nobara demonstrated her tactical brilliance. She was a smart girl who could turn the situation around with her cleverness. Just when we thought she would soon start moving up the rankings, her overconfidence led to digging her own grave. However, she fought valiantly throughout the Shibuya arc and wanted to truly help her friends.

17. Toge Inumaki

The Inumaki clan’s unique “Cursed Speech” technique was passed down to Toge Inumaki, another skilled character in the JJK world. His tongue and face were marked with the Snake & Fang seal at birth since he inherited the cursed speech. This seal enables him to infuse his cursed energy into whatever he says, and the person has to follow his orders. For instance, Toge saying “blast away” to Hanami caused him to be thrown out of the way. Toge is currently a semi-grade 1 sorcerer in the Jujutsu world, which speaks about his levels.

The cursed speech is an extremely potent technique that needs a lot of cursed power and endurance. Toge has enough cursed strength and energy to combat a special-grade cursed spirit, as shown in the anime. Toge’s unique inherited techniques give his opponents a hard time, as they’re difficult to predict.

But he wasn’t given enough screen time in the Shibuya Incident arc in JJK. He did help with his powers, but that went in vain as Sukuna’s rampage killed most of the people he saved. 16. Naobito Zenin

Naobito Zenin is a special Grade 1 jujutsu sorcerer who made his debut in the second season but already had a cameo in a flashback scene back in season 1. He was the head of the Zenin clan and an alcoholic who considered his clan above everyone else. But he did come to help during the Shibuya Incident arc. As a result, this old man was able to showcase his lightning-quick powers, which showed the world that he was one of the fastest sorcerers of all time, but of course, he couldn’t match Gojo.

Naobito was a knowledgeable guy, and his tactical intellect was amazing. As the head of the Zenin clan, he continued to prove why he was one with his innate technique called Projection Sorcery and a tank of cursed energy. His is one of the best-cursed techniques we’ve seen in the show. Although he didn’t make it out alive, he was one of the strongest characters in the series.

15. Yuji Itadori

The main character of the JJK anime, Itadori Yuji, is making sure to quickly increase his strength and power levels. He had superhuman strength and athleticism even before devouring Sukuna’s fingers, as seen in the anime’s earlier episodes. But after becoming the vessel for the curse named Sukuna, he started to grow as one of the talented students at Jujutsu High. He is one of three sorcerers that Satoru believes can one day overtake him, along with Yuta and Hakari. That reveals the abilities and qualities Yuji possesses.

Itadori has incredible reflexes, superhuman strength, and uncontrollable speed. He is already regarded as one of the greatest hand-to-hand combatants in Jujutsu Kaisen. It should be noted that he has consumed fifteen of Sukuna’s fingers for now. Itadori was able to hold his own ground against many big opponents, like Choso, Mahito, etc., at Shibuya. 14. Megumi Fushiguro

Megumi Fushiguro is considered one of the prodigies in the Jujutsu world. Even though he was just a first-year student at Tokyo Jujutsu High, he rapidly advanced to the rank of Grade 2 sorcerer. As a descendant of the formidable Zenin clan, Fushiguro inherited the rarest Ten Shadows Technique. But he was given his mother’s second name, so he goes by Fushiguro rather than Zenin. Sukuna was able to fully grasp and recognize Megumi’s hidden potential throughout the whole show. That is exactly why he saved him from Mahoraga and later captured him for his own interests which will be shown in the upcoming seasons.

Megumi possesses a significant amount of cursed energy. He is a master of both weaponry and hand-to-hand fighting. Compared to other Jujutsu sorcerers, Megumi has superior endurance and the power to summon creatures such as the Divine Dog, Nue, Serpent, Toad, and Elephant. His Ten Shadows Technique is powerful, and on top of that Fushiguro also used the “Chimera Shadow Garden” domain expansion, albeit incompletely, towards the end of the series. Megumi is a great emerging star alongside Itadori Yuji and we are left to wonder what future awaits him soon.

13. Mei Mei

Mei Mei, the true senpai of not only Gojo and Geto but also us, is a fan-favorite character. She is also one of the strongest characters in the series, and we got to see her powers in the Shibuya incident. Mei is a grade 1 sorcerer, but many believe she is stronger than that. Even our Gojo has remarked in the past that Mei Mei is a strong character. And that statement from the strongest sorcerer alive is enough to prove her power and we should not take that lightly.

She lived her life as a great Jujutsu sorcerer and teamed up with her own brother, Ui Ui, many times. Even though she was born with a weak innate technique, she didn’t let that stop her from becoming one of the strongest. She became a master of weaponry techniques with her battle axe and has great tactical intelligence to win countless battles. She even remarked that this was the first time she felt threatened for a long time in Shibuya meaning she was able to handle her previous battles with ease. Thus, she is one of the best and strongest characters we have seen in JJK so far.

12. Aoi Todo

Aoi Todo may not have created the best first impressions in JJK. But fans started loving his character and his chemistry with Yuji, as Todo became best friends with him. In the world of Jujutsu, Todo is currently a Grade 1 sorcerer. Todo evolved into one of the most powerful sorcerers despite coming from a non-sorcerer background. During Geto’s attack in Kyoto, he is said to have fought five Grade 1 spirits and one Special Grade cursed spirit all by himself.

Todo gained the upper hand in battles, thanks to his ability to combine martial arts with cursed energy methods, which also turned into a supreme power move. With his superior bodily strength, Aoi Todo is a master in hand-to-hand combat, and that too with an irrational speed. And let’s not forget about Boogie Woogie, a unique attack that Todo uses regularly. With a clap of his hands, Todo can change the positions of everything within his reach that emits cursed energy using the Boogie Woogie technique.

He also knows how to utilize the vast majority of the cursed energy at his disposal and can use Black Flash. Even though he didn’t have a much bigger role during the Shibuya Incident arc, his short cameo was totally worth it. Although he lost one of his arms, Todo was a game-changer during his fight with Mahito at the climax of Shibuya. The combination of Todo’s physical prowess and abilities makes him a great candidate for our list of the strongest characters in the Jujutsu Kaisen anime.

11. Choso

Choso may have slipped off our minds, as he made only a brief appearance during the Season 1 finale of Jujutsu Kaisen. But he is the elder brother of the death-womb siblings Eso and Kechizu (whom Yuji and Nobara fight in the final episode). We predicted Choso would be a powerful and important character in the JJK universe in the future earlier and we were so right.

Choso is considered to be a special-grade cursed spirit who has continued to hone his skills for 150+ years. As a result, he has mastered the art of the Blood Manipulation technique. He remained as an antagonist at first and almost won against Yuji if not for the sudden remembrance of a memory. Later he switched sides after understanding his true history and relationship with Yuji. In the end, he was able to fight against Kenjaku and Uraume. Choso’s bloody powers will continue to dominate in the upcoming season as well.

10. Kento Nanami

After Gojo Satoru, Nanami Kento is currently regarded as the finest sensei in Jujutsu High. He also became Itadori Yuji’s mentor and is a Grade 1 sorcerer. Nanami is a brilliant tactician who uses his 7:3 ratio method to expose an enemy’s vulnerability, which he then exploits with a slash of his sword. When it comes to swordplay and hand-to-hand combat, Nanami is an expert. Nanami is an interesting example of what a grade 1 sorcerer ought to be.

Jogo should, therefore, be seen as more than merely a funny foe. He has an enormous supply of cursed energies and can call out ember insects with a powerful stinger and the ability to explode like bombs. His domain expansion, “Coffin of the Iron Mountain,” is still an incredible domain expansion that shouldn’t be tampered with. Jogo had immense power and potential and he did win against his equal-matched opponents. But he was obliterated later by Sukuna and died at the hands of him. Still, he is one of the powerful cursed spirits we have seen in the anime.

8. Mahito

Another special-grade cursed spirit, Mahito, possesses immense strength and a powerful innate technique. Among all the other cursed spirits, Mahito is regarded as a clever one. He demonstrated his wit in his conflict with Yuji and Nanami. Mahito is still evolving as an antagonist in the first season and later showed us how strong he got in the Shibuya arc. Mahito exhibited exceptional reflexes, superior strength, and great intelligence (for a cursed spirit) so far.

Mahito’s “Idle Transfiguration” cursed technique allows him to alter or transform a person’s soul and was surely a lethal talent. With this, he killed countless people and even Nobara and Nanami during the Shibuya arc. Mahito was successfully able to fight against great opponents like Nobara, Nanami, Yuji, Todo, etc. as well and can be called even the MVP for the antagonist side of this arc. Moreover, he was able to heal himself while fighting and disfigure the bodies of his victims. Even though he was a card played by Kenjaku, he was a trump card that ultimately declared he was one of the strongest characters in JJK history.

7. Geto Suguru

Because of his disdain for those who don’t utilize curses, Geto Suguru decided to follow the road of evil. And without a doubt, because of the degree of threat that he poses to mankind, Geto is regarded as the most notorious curse user of all. Although we weren’t able to see him in action in season 1 of the anime, we witnessed more of his abilities in the JJK 0 movie and season 2. 6. Toji Fushiguro

The only character who, despite his very short screentime, proved his mighty strength is Toji Fushiguro. His showcasing of his powers as a non-sorcerer puts other sorcerers to shame. Toji didn’t have any cursed energy, but in return for that, he had a superhuman-level physique and enhanced senses due to Heavenly Restriction (learn more about Toji Fushiguro). Toji turned the disadvantage of not having cursed energy to his advantage and rose to dominance as the “Sorcerer Killer.”

If you have caught up with Season 2 of the anime, you must be aware that Toji beat Gojo and Geto back-to-back. They were considered to be the strongest sorcerer duo, but they were nothing in front of him. He is a genius mind with superhuman powers and s-tier cursed tools, but unfortunately ends up on the antagonist’s side. Since Gojo became a superior sorcerer after overcoming his flaw, which Toji exploited, Toji couldn’t survive the wrath of Gojo. 5. Yuki Tsukumo

Yuki Tsukumo is one of four majestic special-grade jujutsu sorcerers in the series. In short, she is a prodigy in the likes of Okkotsu Yuta, Shinju Hakari, etc. Her talents, powers, and skills were totally off the charts from the beginning. After Gojo got sealed, she was the person to save the day and other Jujutsu sorcerers from Kenjaku’s death grip at the end of the Shibuya arc. Yuki has a special innate technique known as Star Rage, which is capable of crushing a special-grade spirit. 4. Kenjaku (Pseudo-Geto)

The copycat and body-snatcher Kenjaku has tricked us for a long time as Geto Suguru. Kenjaku not only has a vast understanding of the world of Jujutsu, but he also has the capacity to learn many potent techniques in addition to his own with his innate technique. He is the most hated character right now and also one of the most powerful characters to exist in Jujutsu Kaisen. He has existed for 1,000+ years, and just imagine the insane knowledge he has gained all these years.

With his innate technique, he not only gains the cheat code to live long but also retains the cursed techniques and powers of the respective bodies he stole. This automatically makes him one of the most powerful characters we have seen so far. Excluding his powers, he is a genius who orchestrated the symphony of chaos throughout the eras of Jujutsu Kaisen.

For example, in the current generation, he successfully manipulated the cursed sports to take part in his plans and sealed Gojo Satoru. 3. Yuta Okkotsu

Okkotsu Yuta, who had been teased in the anime for a while, quickly gained popularity once the JJK 0 movie was released earlier last year. After discovering his untapped talent, Yuta gained notoriety and is one of the four special-grade Jujutsu sorcerers, like Gojo, in the anime. Yuta is a special-grade cursed person who was cursed by Rika Orimoto (his late childhood friend). But as was later revealed, he was the one who cursed her. Yuta belongs to a renowned Jujutsu clan and is linked to “Michizane Sugawara,” one of the most legendary Jujutsu sorcerers ever.

Now in the second season of JJK, we witnessed the peak powers of the King of Curses. He completely obliterated Jogo, a special-grade cursed spirit. 1. Gojo Satoru

Even before reading this article, you would have probably known who was at the top of this list, and you are absolutely right. Gojo Satoru is the strongest of all the characters in the Jujutsu Kaisen anime. He showed off his powers in the first scene in which he was introduced, and said, “It’ll be fine. I’m the strongest there is, after all”. He descends from the Gojo clan and possesses the “Limitless” cursed technique as well as the powerful Six Eyes, which are regarded as the highest powers in the Jujutsu World.

Gojo possesses a multitude of powers and techniques at his disposal. His infinite cursed technique creates an unseen barrier between him and others. Only he decides what can and cannot touch him.
