When Does Spotify Wrapped 2024 Come Out? Release Date Prediction

Spotify Wrapped has become a tradition among music fans to share their year-long listening trends with the internet. Every year since 2018, we eagerly await Spotify’s annual wrap, highlighting our favorite tracks, artists, and genres. So, as 2024 draws to a close, you must wonder when the Spotify Wrapped 2024 will be released this year. Prepare yourself, because the answer is sooner than you expected.

Spotify Wrapped 2024 Release Date

Spotify is yet to announce the official date for the release of Spotify Wrapped 2024. But some users are already receiving pop-ups saying, “2024 is almost a wrap, Update the app to get Wrapped-ready”.

They also updated the Spotify for Artists page, inviting music talents to record a 30-second clip of themselves that will show up for their top listeners. The deadline for clip submission is November 15th, so the Wrap won’t be dropping anytime before that.

So, when will Spotify Wrapped 2024 come out? We can look into the past release dates to learn when Spotify will drop their yearly rewind.

  • Wrapped 2018 — December 6, 2018
  • Wrapped 2019 — December 5, 2019
  • Wrapped 2020 — December 1, 2020
  • Wrapped 2021 — December 1, 2021
  • Wrapped 2022 — November 30, 2022
  • Wrapped 2023 — November 30, 2023

As you can see, all the previous releases fell between the end of November and early December. One user also mentioned that Spotify is hosting a live Wrapped concert in Indonesia on Thursday. The Spotify Indonesia Instagram page has also shared updates about the live event for the past few dates. Moreover, Spotify has shared an X post saying Wrapped 2024 is coming soon.

So, based on all these hints, we can expect Spotify Wrapped 2024 to be released on December 4 (Wednesday) or December 5 (Thursday) next week. However, given the past release dates, it is possible that Spotify could drop it sooner.

When Does Spotify Stop Tracking for Wrapped 2024?

Compiling a list of your favorite songs isn’t possible without tracking your Spotify listening history. Since “Wrapped” usually drops around early December, many people assume that the platform stops tracking your listening habits on October 31, But that’s not true at all.

In a reply to a now-deleted post, the company’s official X account confirmed that it continues post-October 31st. More recently, the platform shared another post during Halloween clearing any doubts on the matter.

I guess that the tracking starts on the 1st of January and ends somewhere around mid-November. So while all your Halloween tracks might get a cameo in your top 100 favorite songs, your Christmas playlist will be left out.

What Can We Expect in Spotify Wrapped 2024?

With every Spotify Wrapped, the streaming service comes up with a new way to help you express what your music taste says about you. In 2023, it was “Sound Town” where the app would match you with a city based on your musical preferences. In 2022, we saw “Personality Profiles” where you get assigned to a personality type on the app.

This year we could get up close and personal with the artists given the top listeners thing we discussed above. Maybe some top fans could get to interact with their favorite artists or get a personal message from them. I wouldn’t mind a personal note from Sabrina Carpenter, given how much her summer singles have been on repeat on my playlist.

Spotify could also come up with some other unique metric to show what your music says about you. Honestly, I am all out of ideas, but that just makes me more eager for 2024’s Wrapped to drop. And surely you can’t either, so better go ahead and start listening to all those songs that you missed out on this year if you want them featured.
