Geekbench 6
To test the CPU performance on both chipsets, we ran the Geekbench 6 test. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 scored 1,144 in the single-core and 3,072 in the multi-core test.
In comparison, the beefy Dimensity 8300 Ultra achieved much higher scores, getting 1,439 in the single-core test and 4,527 in the multi-core test, despite having the same cores and CPU layout.
Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 | Dimensity 8300 Ultra | |
---|---|---|
Single-core | 1,144 | 1,439 |
Multi-core | 3,072 | 4,527 |
The scores are highly skewed because MediaTek has clocked the CPU cores at a much higher frequency, up to 3.35GHz. There is a significant difference of 800MHz to 400MHz between the frequencies of both processors. The Poco X6 Pro will offer much better CPU performance than the OnePlus Nord CE 4. However, battery life will take some hit, so keep that in mind.
CPU Throttling Test
In the CPU Throttling test, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 does a fabulous job. Its CPU throttled to 89% of its maximum performance. In contrast, the Dimensity 8300 Ultra throttled to 73% of its maximum performance, showing some performance deterioration after three minutes under intense workload.
Its high-frequency cores force the CPU to throttle to some degree. For sustained performance over a longer period, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 will likely perform better than the Dimensity 8300 Ultra.
AnTuTu Benchmark
In the AnTuTu benchmark, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 scored a total of 8,49,360 points whereas the Dimensity 8300 Ultra got a whopping 13,35,122 points. The Arm Mali-G615 MC6 GPU on the Dimensity 8300 Ultra is mighty powerful and it delivers 4,64,917 points alone.
As MediaTek’s chipset also supports UFS 4.0 storage and LPDDR5X memory, it gets an additional boost in performance.
Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 | Dimensity 8300 Ultra | |
---|---|---|
AnTuTu Score | 8,49,360 | 13,35,122 |
CPU | 2,73,078 | 2,84,059 |
GPU | 2,58,169 | 4,64,917 |
Memory | 1,47,824 | 3,36,911 |
UX | 1,70,289 | 2,49,235 |
3DMark Wild Life Stress Test
The Arm Mali-G615 MC6 GPU flexes its muscles in the 3DMark Wild Life Stress test. The GPU on the Dimensity 8300 Ultra gets the best loop score of 10,041 and the lowest loop score of 7,156 with a stability of 71.3%.
In comparison, the Adreno 720 GPU on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 struggles to come even close to the Dimensity 8300 Ultra’s GPU. It gets the best loop score of 5,445 and the lowest loop score of 5,425.
Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 Dimensity 8300 Ultra Best loop score 5,445 10,041 Lowest loop score 5,425 7,156 Stability 99.6% 71.3%
That said, its GPU maintains a high stability of 99.6%, which is remarkable. For gaming, MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra will undoubtedly offer a much better experience than the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3.
