It has today shown off the unique lunar design of the Realme P3 Ultra, and here is a closer look at the details.
Design that Will Take You Over the Moon
Realme’s P3 Ultra isn’t just another flashy mid-range smartphone. The company has taken cues from our moon and replicated its surface on the back of the phone. Looking at the lunar design of the Realme P3 Ultra, it looks like they have carved out an aesthetic portrayal of our closest heavenly body floating in the vastness of space. However, that is not the case, instead, they used some clever techniques to achieve this effect.
To replicate the look and feel of the moon’s surface, the engineers went with a lunar soil texture created using a micro-sculpting technique. This replicates the feel of moon dust that you will get to experience every time you hold the Realme P3 Ultra in your hands.
The company has also used a starlight ink process to embed thousands of star particles into the back of the P3 Ultra. This gives a shimmering effect when you look at the phone from different angles, as if you are glancing at the lunar buddy in a clear night sky.
I know, we spend most of our time looking at a phone’s screen, but the Realme P3 Ultra will make you want to turn it around to look at the moon; even when it’s bright outside. It’s a head turner for sure.
A Lunar Symphony of Light and Shadow
Realme went a step further and made the design more immersive by going with a 3D gradient luster. It offers a sense of depth to the moon’s surface with shifting lights and shadows. Holding the Realme P3 Ultra will make you feel like a planet-devouring Galactus, grabbing a celestial body in the palm of your hands.
However, the uniqueness of this new lunar design doesn’t end there. As day settles and the dark cold night comes up, the Realme P3 Ultra’s rear panel comes to life, emitting a soft, green halo glow covering the lunar surface.
This glow in the dark design adds another level of realism, as if you’re witnessing the actual moon’s luminescence. The fact that Realme focused on such minor aspects made me appreciate this design even more.
It’s a Pen, It’s a Straw, It’s Unbelievably Thin
However, the beauty of the Realme P3 Ultra isn’t just its lunar design. The phone also reaches for the stars in terms of its form factor. At just 7.38 mm and 183 grams, it is one of the thinnest smartphones in the price segment. Just look how the P3 Ultra even puts a pen to shame with its sharp design.
Realme has kept the sides of the phone relatively flat, with chamfered edges that have a polished matte finish. This makes the phone easy to hold and use the P3 Ultra in regular usage. The orange accent around the camera bump, which Realme is calling Cosmic Star Ring, and the orange power button also add a nice touch to the phone’s appearance.
Despite the slim aesthetics, the Realme P3 Ultra features a 6,000 mAh battery and 6050mm² VC Bionic vapor chamber cooling system. This is again, the largest in its price segment. Also, there’s a quad curved AMOLED panel with a 2,500Hz touch sampling rate, top-tier IP certification, and more.
An Ultra phone needs specs to match, this is why the Realme P3 Ultra ships with the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Ultra processor, which is coupled with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. All this is powering the ever so smooth Realme UI 6.0 based on Android 15.
With the above specs and its beautiful design, this smartphone is a recipe for a perfect device in its price bracket. The Realme P3 Ultra also comes in two other color variants, namely Neptune Blue and Orion Red, in case you are not a big moon enthusiast. However, the star of the show will be the ‘Glowing Lunar White’ color variant.
