It’s been quite a while since Pokemon fans saw a new generation of Pokemon release in mainline games. Generation 9 arrived in 2022, and ever since then, fans have been asking for what’s next. After a long wait, Gen 10 has finally been announced, and Pokemon Winds and Pokemon Waves are the new mainline titles. The games were announced on Pokemon Presents 2026 Stream, and here’s everything you need to know.

Pokemon Winds and Waves Gen 10 Release Date

Pokemon Winds and Pokemon Waves will be released in late 2027. Similar to Scarlet and Violet, these two games will be released simultaneously as different cover and name editions, although the gameplay content will remain similar between the two. This info was revealed as part of Pokemon’s 30th Anniversary Celebration.

While an exact date hasn’t been announced yet, you can expect it to be released in mid to late 2027, similar to the release of Pokemon Legends ZA. We will update this section once the release date has been announced.

Pokemon Winds and Waves Platforms, Editions, and Price.

As of now Pokemon Winds and Waves is only confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2. Right now, there’s no information about the game’s release on Switch 1. However, we might see Nintendo making adjustments in the game’s specs for a Switch 1 release in the future.

Just like Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, there will be two game editions for Winds and Waves. Both editions will feature the same story and gameplay, with a few minor changes that we’ve discussed earlier. Other than that, there might be some special editions of the game with Nintendo Switch 2, alongside some pre-order bonuses.

The price of Pokemon Winds and Waves is unknown, but you can expect it to be somewhere between $70-100, since it’s a next-gen Switch 2 game.

Pokemon Winds and Waves Leaks

Several Pokemon Winds and Waves leaks have surfaced, hinting at the new Generation 10 Pokemon, characters, and map locations. Below, we have listed all the details:

New Gen 10 Characters

Pokemon Horizons Wonder Voyage is the new seasonal Pokemon anime that is scheduled for a May 2026 release. This series will take place after the Scarlet and Violet era and potentially wrap up the Generation 9 storyline. A new generation story in the anime usually lines up after the release of the games from respective generations.

However, a new Pokemon Winds and Waves leak has been posted by a trusted leaker, which features a new character and a Pokemon from the 2027 game. In the poster, a new female character, named Navi, can be seen. She is originally from Lumiose City and might be in the game.

Other than her, the Pokemon Champion in the game has been leaked as the oldest Champion among all Pokemon games. In Pokemon Winds and Waves, this character appears as an older Champion with shoulder-length hair, a goatee, and a coat.

He is said to resemble the design shown above, which is not the same one as the in-game appearance, but an earlier concept. He also has an important connection to the main Legendary Pokemon of the game, similar to that of N.

Gen 10 Pokemon from Winds and Waves Leaked

Coming to the new Generation 10 Pokemon, leakers have claimed that the protagonist of the Wonder Voyage series will have a new Pokemon with Rock and Psychic typing. While there is no image of the Pokemon online, we might just have to wait and see as Lunatone, Solrock, and Iron Boulder share the same typing.
