NYT Strands March 27 Solved

If you take a careful look at today’s solved Strands above, you will see how insanely bewildering everything is. The board’s alignment is completely off so, don’t think about going about it like you normally do. I’ll shed some more clarity on this soon.

Going by NYT’s way of baffling us, I honestly thought that today’s game was messed up on purpose. But, I realized that there was definitely something wrong in the backend. Finding COMIC at the top right edge and SKETCH in the column right next to it was not hard. DOODLE was also easy to spot in the middle.

However, when it came to the other words, I found myself desperately rummaging through unrelated words for a hint. Then, I saw CARTOON highlighted on the grids, with half of the words scattered at the opposite end. This is clearly not how strands works and I realized that it was broken Here’s how it looked:

Marking the word CARTOON in March 27 NYT Strands

When forming CARTOON, connect it from the O at the top. Else, it won’t connect. Similarly, you will find PORTRAIT at the top right edge, with the T on the leftmost column. That took another hint though. With that, it didn’t take me long to figure out GRAPHICART as the Spangram today.

I found DESIGN right at the bottom. With that, our Strands for the day was solved. Oh also, ignore that comma; it’s pointless. The good thing is that we still only had to use two hints to make out the puzzle. NYT, please don’t do this to us again.

So, that was my journey with Strands today. What about you? Did today’s Strands baffle you as well? How many hints did you require? Let me know in the comments down below!
