- A Minecraft player has used the combination of a Sulfur Cube, a leash, and a spear to fly across the End without using Elytra.
- This method is faster than using the Elytra, but doesn't have the same control over directions.
- It is an incredibly fun way to exploit the bouncy ability of the Sulfur Cube in Minecraft.
Once players have defeated the Ender Dragon in Minecraft, they fall into the same problem of how to travel to the faraway End Islands. Since you haven’t yet discovered the Elytra, building bridges across the islands is a tiresome task, while using Ender Pearls is quite risky. Fortunately, a recent Reddit post has gone viral, where a player uses the brand-new Minecraft Sulfur Cube trick to travel across the End Islands in an incredibly safe and fast way.
Minecraft Sulfur Cube Trick Helps Players Travel the End Islands With New “Free Bird” Tech
At first, you might wonder if this is some kind of new Minecraft mod that allows fast travel in the End. But surprisingly, the community is a lot more creative than you’d imagine and has found a way to exploit the Sulfur Cube mob from the upcoming Minecraft Chaos Cubed update.

Here’s the setup that the Reddit player, lumfdoesgaming, has used as he calls the tech “Fly High Free Bird”: makes a pig step on a boat with a chest, and places a saddle on the pig’s back. On the primary hand, the player wields a spear. Whereas, on the other hand, they hold a leash connecting the Sulfur Cube. Then the player applies the potion of slow falling on the Sulfur Cube as well as themselves, and the setup is complete.
Now comes the fun part, where the Minecraft player throws a wood block in front of the Sulfur Cube. The mob consumes it and instantly receives the ability to become bouncy. Lumfdoesgaming now keeps hitting the Sulfur Cube with the Minecraft spear to launch it forward. The mob gains momentum, and since it is attached via a leash, it drags the player along.
The player now gets pulled through the air and thereby glides across the massive distances between the End Islands. Since the End dimension is made up of small islands with vast empty spaces in between, there are no natural paths to traverse between them.
So, before the players get the Elytra in Minecraft, the common traversal options are inefficient. Bridging with blocks seems slow, throwing Ender Pearls to teleport is risky if they don’t land on the island, whereas using a Chorus Fruit is unpredictable. With such an efficient application of the Sulfur Cube, players are finally hoping that this new mob surely has the potential to be one of the greatest additions in the game.
