One thing that sets Marvel Rivals apart from other hero shooters is the variety of strategies involved. This keeps the game fresh and always makes you try something new. One of the most unique things the game introduced in season 0 is the teaming up of different characters. This way, playing certain characters in a team lets you add key buffs or abilities. Here is the complete list of all Marvel Rivals team-ups and their abilities. With that said, let’s begin.
Note: We updated the Marvel Rivals team-ups list with the Season 2 update.
Active Marvel Rivals Team-Ups List
As of Season 2, there are 18 active team-ups in the game. Here is a list of all the active ones:
1. Gamma Charge

- Primary Hero: Hulk
- Ability Key: Passive
- Ability: Gamma Boost
- Team-up Boost: +100 Max Health (Hero Hulk and Monster Hulk)
- Secondary Hero: Namor
- Ability Key: C
- Abilities and Effects: Arced Trajectory (Summon Gamma Monstro), Direct Hit (Gamma Monstro)
The Gamma Charge team-up has been tweaked multiple times in Marvel Rivals, with Iron Man being removed. However, it remains one of the best, largely thanks to Namor’s new Gamma Monstro. It blends a devastating long-range beam with the precise aim of turret-style attacks, making it incredibly powerful. While in this state, attacking the same target continuously keeps dealing more damage.
2. Arcane Order
- Primary Hero: Doctor Strange
- Ability Key: Passive
- Ability: Enchanted Enhancement
- Team-up Boost: +150 Max Health
- Secondary Hero: Scarlet Witch
- Ability Key: C
- Abilities and Effects: Sorcery Surge
The Arcane Order is one of the strongest team-ups in the current Marvel Rivals meta. When you pick Doctor Strange as the primary character and pair him with Scarlet Witch, it unlocks the Enchanted Enhancement Passive for him. This allows Scarlet Witch to cast Sorcery Surge, which lets her cast Secondary Fire from multiple directions.
3. Stars Aligned
- Primary Hero: Captain America
- Ability Key: C
- Ability: Captain’s Spirit
- Team-up Boost: +100 Max Health and 5% Damage Boost
- Secondary Hero: Winter Soldier
- Ability Key: C
- Abilities and Effects: Stellar Impact
After leaving the Ammo Overload team-up, Bucky joined Captain America to create the Stars Aligned. Here, Captain America plays the primary role and gains the Captain’s Spirit passive. This enables Winter Soldier to jump to any ally with his bionic arm and slam the ground, dealing damage to enemies. Moreover, Steve and Bucky can also perform a clash, which creates a shockwave that slows enemies and deals solid damage.
4. Mental Projection
- Primary Hero: Emma Frost
- Ability Key: Passive
- Ability: Mind Link
- Team-up Boost: +100 Max Health
- Secondary Hero: Magneto
- Ability Key: C

Emma Frost can form a psychic link with Magneto and Psylocke, allowing her to summon robust illusionary projections. When paired with either of them, she makes the Mental Projection team. While in a team, Magneto and Psylocke can trigger the C button, creating a Duplicate Illusion to enemies. This illusion mimics the player’s movements and abilities (excluding Ultimates), creating confusion on the battlefield. Before making the illusion, the characters go invisible on the field.
5. Ragnarok Rebirth

- Ability Key: Passive
- Ability: Queen of Hel
- Team-up Boost: 15% Damage Boost
- Secondary Hero 1: Loki
- Ability Key: Passive

- Secondary Hero 2: Thor
- Ability Key: Passive
- Abilities and Effects: Odinson Reborn
The siblings of Asgard come with a unique team-up in the game that can be strong if used correctly. If you pick Hela as the anchor, it will give her the Queen of Hel passive. While having this passive, if you have Loki or Thor on the team, they can be reborn or get bonus health by Hela’s will. To trigger this, Hela must land a last hit on an enemy. The resurrection does not work if Loki and Thor are thrown off the map.

During the ride, the damage you take is reduced.
7. ESU Alumnus
- Primary Hero: Spider-Man
- Ability Key: Passive
- Ability: Extra Web-Fluid
- Team-up Boost: 10% Damage Boost

Peter is known for his tech tweaks, and well, he doesn’t shy away from helping friends with them. As an ESU alumnus, Spidey gets the Extra Web-Fluid passive that activates the Webbed Acorn ability for Squirrel Girl. Using this ability, she can trap enemies in an ensnaring blast.
8. Fantastic Four
- Primary Hero: Invisible Woman
- Ability Key: Passive
- Ability: Fantasti-Force
- Team-up Boost: 15% Healing Boost
- Secondary Heroes: Mister Fantastic, The Thing, and Human Torch
- Ability Key: C
- Abilities and Effects: Wedded Harmony, Cooperative Comrades, and Storm Siblings
It is impossible to have the Fantastic Four in Marvel Rivals without them having a Team-Up Ability. In this team-up, Invisible Woman is the anchor, boosting Mister Fantastic, The Thing, and Human Torch by channeling Psionic Might. This grants the team temporary bonus health and helps them recover lost HP over time.
Invisible Woman gains the Fantasti-Force passive, while Mister Fantastic gets Wedded Harmony, The Thing receives Cooperative Comrades, and Human Torch unlocks Storm Siblings. Mister Fantastic also gains extra damage resistance, making him more durable during team fights.

- Team-up Boost: 15% Damage Boost
- Secondary Hero: Luna Snow
- Ability Key: C
- Abilities and Effects: Frozen Chi
Want to combine the power of a solid Duelist with Luna Snow in Marvel Rivals? Well, select Iron Fist as the primary character as his team-up with her can create a chilling chaos on the battlefield. Iron Fist boosts Luna Snow by channeling the Chi of Shou-Lao into her, making a Chi-infused frost ring. This ring knocks back and slows enemies with chilling damage while healing nearby allies; Iron Fist gains the Dragon’s Chill passive, and Luna Snow receives Frozen Chi.
10. Fastball Special
- Primary Hero: Wolverine
- Ability Key: Passive
- Ability: Metal Cannonball
- Team-up Boost: None
- Secondary Hero 1: Hulk
- Ability Key: C
- Abilities and Effects: Gamma Fastball
- Secondary Hero 2: The Thing
- Ability Key: C

Fastball Special is an aggressive formation where Wolverine teams up with Hulk or The Thing to launch himself into enemies. With Wolverine’s Metal Cannonball ability and the allies’ Cosmic or Gamma Fastball (Hulk’s only works outside Bruce Banner form), they can hurl him for moderate damage and a knockdown effect. It’s best used to chase down escaping targets or disrupt distant snipers—just be careful not to throw Wolverine off the map or into a crowd alone.
11. Storming Ignition
- Primary Hero: Storm
- Ability Key: X
- Ability: Burning Hurricane
- Team-up Boost: None
- Secondary Hero: Human Torch
- Ability Key: X
- Abilities and Effects: Omega Fire
The Storming Ignition is one of the unique team-ups in Marvel Rivals. When Human Torch activates Supernova (ultimate), Storm can amplify her Omega Hurricane (ultimate) by selecting a Flame Tornado, creating an Omega Fire. Likewise, if Storm uses Omega Hurricane first, Human Torch can supercharge it into a Burning Hurricane with Supernova.
Any Flame Tornado caught in a Burning Hurricane grows in size and deals increased damage. This combo turns the battlefield into a fiery storm zone that’s hard to escape.
12. Allied Agents

- Ability Key: Passive
- Ability: Supersensory Vision
- Team-up Boost: 15% Damage Boost
- Secondary Hero: Black Widow

- Primary Hero: Luna Snow
- Ability Key: Passive
- Ability: Icy Disco
- Team-up Boost: 15% Healing Boost
- Secondary Hero: Jeff the Land Shark
- Ability Key: X
- Abilities and Effects: Frozen Spitball
With Luna Snow as the anchor, she and Jeff the Land Shark unlock the Team-Up Ability called Chilling Charisma. Luna gains a passive called Icy Disco, which enhances Jeff’s attacks by replacing his Aqua Burst with Frozen Spitball. This new ability deals increased damage and creates a slowing field on impact. It’s perfect for disrupting enemies and setting up follow-up attacks.
14. Guardian Revival

- Ability Key: Passive
- Ability: Soul Perseverance
- Team-up Boost: 15% Healing Boost
- Secondary Hero 1: Star-Lord

- Secondary Hero 2: Mantis
- Ability Key: Passive

Strategists are one of the key roles of Marvel Rivals, and Adam Warlock stays on top thanks to his team-up with the Guardian friends. Adam Warlock is the anchor, enhancing Star-Lord and Mantis with revival powers. He gains a passive called Soul Perseverance, while Star-Lord and Mantis get death-activated passives—Leader’s Soul and Nature’s Soul. When downed, it’s smarter to retreat safely and then use the power of cocooned revival.
15. Lunar Force
- Primary Hero: Cloak & Dagger
- Ability Key: Passive
- Ability: From Shadow to Light
- Team-up Boost: 15% Healing Boost
- Secondary Hero: Moon Knight
- Ability Key: C
- Abilities and Effects: Full Moon
Lunar Force is a team-up ability in Marvel Rivals where Cloak & Dagger help Moon Knight with light and dark energy, creating a realm that grants him invisibility. This makes Moon Knight even deadlier, letting him strike unseen or reposition quickly. Use Moonlight Hook to dash across the field or close gaps rapidly and precisely. While invisible, follow up with Crescent Darts and Moon Blades to pressure enemies hard.
16. Dimensional Shortcut
- Primary Hero: Magik
- Ability Key: Passive
- Ability: Disc Master
- Team-up Boost: 15% Damage Boost
- Secondary Hero: Black Panther
- Ability Key: C
- Abilities and Effects: Wakandan Master
With Magik as the primary character for the Dimensional Shortcut team-up, Black Panther can rewind a few seconds, returning to a previous spot and gaining bonus health based on what he’s lost. Magik gains a passive called Disc Master, while Black Panther gets a new ability named Wakandan Master. This combo is perfect for hit-and-run attacks, and when timed right, it can unleash serious damage, especially dangerous for backline healers.
17. Ammo Overload
- Primary Hero: Rocket Raccoon
- Ability Key: Z
- Ability: Ammo Invention
- Team-up Boost: 5% Healing Boost
- Secondary Hero: The Punisher
- Ability Key: Passive
- Abilities and Effects: Infinite Ammo and Faster Firing buff
Ammo Overload is one of the strongest team-ups in Marvel Rivals, where Rocket Raccoon supports the Punisher. Rocket gets Ammo Invention and tosses an ammo overload device, and when the Punisher steps into its range, he gains infinite ammo and increased fire rate. The buff doesn’t affect the Punisher’s Culling Turret or Ultimate.
18. Symbiote Bond

- Ability Key: Passive
- Ability: Touch of Klyntar
- Team-up Boost: +150 Max Health
- Secondary Hero 1: Spider-Man

- Secondary Hero 2: Peni Parker

Symbiote Bond is a team-up ability in Marvel Rivals that links Venom with Spider-Man and Peni Parker. Venom shares part of his symbiote with them, activating unique powers—Spider-Man gets Suit Expulsion, and Peni gains Armor Expulsion.
These abilities let them fire explosive symbiote spikes (50 damage per strike) that push enemies back, making it a strong offensive tool. You can also use it to control positioning, launching rivals into hazards, or closer to your team’s setup.
Marvel Rivals Inactive Team-Ups
In Season 2, two Team-Up Abilities were temporarily removed, but have since been unvaulted. We’ve listed all inactive Marvel Rivals team-ups below for reference to keep you in the loop. Don’t worry—there’s always a chance the devs will bring them back into rotation.
Metallic Chaos
- Primary Hero: Scarlet Witch
- Ability Key: Passive
- Ability: Chaotic Bond
- Team-up Boost: 10% Damage Boost
- Secondary Hero: Magneto
- Ability Key: C
- Abilities and Effects: Metallic Fusion
Metallic Chaos, a removed team-up from the game, used to require Scarlet Witch as the primary character. Her passive, Chaotic Bond, increased Magneto’s greatsword’s power. By pressing the C key, Magneto could unlock the Metallic Fusion to unsheathe the greatsword and deal massive damage to enemies. This combination made Magneto one of the strongest Vanguards in Marvel Rivals.
Voltaic Union
- Primary Hero: Thor
- Ability Key: Passive
- Ability: Thunderous Deity
- Team-up Boost: +100 Max Health
- Secondary Hero 1: Storm
- Ability Key: C
- Abilities and Effects: Charged Gale
- Secondary Hero 2: Captain America
- Ability Key: C
- Abilities and Effects: Charged Aegis
The Voltaic Union team-up was one of the most useful ones in Marvel Rivals due to the combination it provided. Here, Thor acted as the anchor hero who was a must to initiate the team-up. His Thunderous Deity passive gave Captain America the Charged Aegis and Storm the Charged Gale abilities.
During Charged Aegis, Steve received a solid movement speed bonus while having the shield imbued with thunder power, damaging the nearby enemies. On the other hand, Storm’s Charged Gale added a ricochet effect to her attacks, giving bonus lightning damage.
