Marvel Rivals Season 8 Patch Notes: Devil Dinosaur, New Map, Balance Adjustments, and More

A new season of Marvel Rivals, jam-packed with new content, is right around the corner. Devs have introduced the two new heroes, Devil Dinosaur and Cyclops, who are the talk of the town right now. Apart from the new characters, the new season (version 20260515 update) is introducing a new map, team-ups, accessories, and more. Marvel Rivals Season 8 Patch Notes for Version 20260515 Update

NetEase Games has finally released the full patch notes for Marvel Rivals Season 8. The new seasonal update will roll out on May 15, 2026, at 9 AM UTC. Since this is a major update, there will be a server downtime for at least 2 hours. While we wait for the new season, here is all the new content arriving in the upcoming update:

New Hero

New Hero Devil Dinosaur is stomping his way into the Marvel Rivals roster!

The adorable (unless provoked) Devil Dinosaur has officially joined the Marvel Rivals hero roster as the 50th hero. The Time-Lost Devil-Beast is confirmed to be the new Vanguard who is all set to shake the battlefield with his primal strength. As you might have guessed, Devil Dinosaur’s bestial might is tied to its thick jaws, ready to ravage the frontline.

As Devil Dinosaur, you can bite your enemies to apply the bleed effect, grab them with your jaws, and send them flying as you wish. In addition, Devil Dinosaur can conjure a shield to defend against projectiles, and he can shoot powerful laser beams from his mouth.

As for the ultimate ability, Devil Dinosaur will charge forward and trample on the enemies with his increased movement and shockwave stomps. All in all, Devil Dinosaur is guaranteed to become a fan-favorite in Marvel Rivals Season 8.

• Timeline Reconstructions (Predictions): Made a bad call? Alter the timeline! For “Match Ongoing” Group Stage matches, you can now revisit the Prediction Page to edit the ranking prediction for one team. You can earn up to 2 temporal revision charges (across all regions) by completing specific Group Stage event tasks.

Marvel Rivals Championship

Marvel Rivals Championship returns for Season 8, ready to crown new legends! Whether you’re a team of seasoned Avengers or rising street-level defenders, simply throwing down in the Open Qualifiers will secure your Faction a hefty sum of Units and a vault full of exclusive loot (check the in-game MRC rewards preview for the full details).

For those with the power to shatter the heavens, the stakes are cosmic. Take Note: The top 4 Factions from each designated region in the Season 8 MRC, alongside the titans boasting the highest combined “Champion Points 26” from Seasons 7 and 8, will receive a golden ticket out of the amateur leagues. You will be invited to the fiercely contested Ignite Series 2026 Mid-Season Qualifiers.

There, you’ll clash head-on with the Stage 1 Pro League gladiators fighting for survival. Win, and you’ll ascend, claiming a coveted slot in the Stage 2 Pro League. For the exact rules of engagement, consult the in-game MRC page or our official social channels.

Fixes and Optimizations

Blood Hunt

• Jeff the Land Shark: Even the most ravenous predators need to reload their… bubbles? We fixed a frustrating aquatic anomaly where securing an elimination with Jeff’s bubbles failed to grant the intended charge restoration. The chaos now keeps flowing!
• Environmental Stability: The dimensional barriers during the Blood Hunt were tearing at the seams. We’ve patched several localized combat rifts that occasionally caused heroes to helplessly clip out of bounds or get wedged into the map geometry.
• Thor: The Odinson was channeling a bit too much lightning. We discovered that stacking multiple active Ultimate Storm Enhancements caused his Final Storm to actually increase his Awakening Rune duration instead of consuming it; essentially breaking the laws of Asgardian magic. The Odinforce has been properly calibrated: Final Storm will now correctly consume the awakening duration as intended.

Path to Doomsday: The Avengers

• Loki’s Mischief Contained: We’ve resolved a temporal glitch where falling victim to Loki’s mind control under specific, chaotic conditions would leave heroes permanently suspended in mid-air or trapped in anomalous KO states.
• Loki Balance Adjustments: It seems the God of Mischief was reigning a little too supreme over this timeline. We’ve called in the TVA to prune his excessive power levels across the board:
  Classic Mode: Loki’s Base Health has been brought down from 3,500 to a more mortal 3,000. Additionally, the cooldown for Bend the Knee has been increased from 8s to 15s, and its mind-control duration has been halved from 4s down to 2s.
  All-Heroes Mode: Loki’s Base Health takes a hit here as well, dropping from a beefy 4,500 to 3,500. Bend the Knee receives the identical tuning: cooldown increased from 8s to 15s, and control duration slashed from 4s to 2s. (We know he’s a god, but we still need a fair fight!)

Heroes

• Black Widow’s Silent Treatment: Fixed an issue where the firing sound effects for Natasha’s Mrs. Barnes costume were mysteriously missing. The Red Room taught her to be a silent assassin, but we figured actually hearing her guns fire would be a bit more helpful!
• Captain America’s Aerial Aegis: Addressed a rare bug where raising Cap’s shield mid-jump has a small chance to fail to block Spell Field damage. Flying through the air like a bald eagle is great, but Steve’s Vibranium shield will now properly protect him from explosive surprises while airborne. Shields up, Cap!

Hero Buffs and Nerfs in Marvel Rivals Season 8

As seen before in the major seasonal updates, devs are making some big balance changes to every hero across three roles. Best Vanguards like The Thing and Emma Frost are getting buffed while Deadpool is taking a hit. Similarly, many Duelists are receiving their long-awaited buffs in the new season. That said, here are all the heroes who are confirmed to receive buffs in season 8:

New Accessories

A new batch of cute accessories is being added to Marvel Rivals in season 8. Heroes, including Devil Dinosaur, The Thing, Black Widow, Angela, Hela, Namo, and The Punisher, are getting the new accessories, as you can see in the image above.

College Student Perks

Verified college students can gain access to a new set of already released skins in Marvel Rivals Season 8. The new skins list includes Loki – Presidential Attire, Magneto – Temporal Tyrant, Hulk – Maestro, Peni Parker – Wasteland Mech, Daredevil – Devil 2099, Magik – Phoenix Demon, Rocket Raccoon – Sunshine Raccoon, Phoenix – Chaos Phoenix, Hawkeye – Ronin, but not the new Hellfire Gala skins. So, sign up and try out the 10 new trial costumes with MVPs in the upcoming season.

PC Storage Optimization

Devs have finally managed to separate the high-resolution texture pack of Marvel Rivals. In case you are running low on disk space, you can now uninstall the HD texture pack to get some free space of around 35GB.

Guangguang recommends that if you are playing in either 1080P or 1440P resolutions or in Low Texture Quality settings, you can try out the new PC Storage Optimization. “You will save a massive amount of space with practically zero impact on your visual experience,” the creative director said.

New Doom Match Map: Alchemax Headquarters

After a long time, devs are adding a new map for Doom Match, players’ favorite arcade mode. Since the devs only recently added the Lower Manhattan map in season 7, we will have to wait until the next season for a major map. The Alchemax Headquarters Doom Match map is coming to Marvel Rivals on May 28, 2026.

New Devil Dinosaur x The Punisher Team-Up

With the arrival of Devil Dinosaur, the beast is getting paired up with The Punisher to create a new, powerful team-up.

• Primal Punishment: The Punisher is able to ride on Devil Dinosaur’s back. He can only use his normal attacks while riding the Devil Dinosaur. Additionally, Frank gets extra damage reduction and a percentage of all damage taken. Then all the heals The Punisher receives will be shared with Devil Dinosaur.
