007 First Light has a huge range of stealth mechanics, and Pickpocket is one of them. Unlike other games, pickpocketing works slightly differently in First Light. Using this mechanic correctly, you can open up many routes for Bond that involve less combat. So, here is a quick guide on how to pickpocket in 007 First Light.
How to Pickpocket in 007 First Light
Pickpocketing in First Light is the easiest way of obtaining key items from NPCs without fighting them. But to pickpocket, players have to meet certain conditions. Here is a quick guide on how to pickpocket in 007 First Light:
Distract the NPC
The basic requirement for pickpocketing NPCs is to distract them first. This can be done in various ways. You can use the environment to distract, like igniting a garbage can, breaking a pipeline, or sabotaging their laptops. Other than that, you can use the 007 First Light gadgets to stun, flash, or poison enemies to disorient them. Sleeping enemies are automatically vulnerable to pickpocketing.
Be Aware of Watchers
To pickpocket in 007 First Light, you not only need to disorient the target NPC, but also any NPC around with ‘Watcher’ specialization. These NPCs can be spotted using the Q-Lens gadget, and their presence will stop you from pickpocketing in the game. While Watchers are not distracted, the Pickpocket option will be greyed out for Agent 007.
Pickpocket
After you have distracted both the targeted NPC and the Watchers around them, you can simply go close to the target and press the Pickpocket option. For PC, the default key is ‘F’ for Pickpocketing on keyboards, Triangle for PlayStation controllers, and X on Xbox controllers.
Unlike many other games, you don’t need to be crouched or bump into them to pickpocket. Instead, you simply need to get closer to the NPC after distracting them to get the Pickpocket option in 007 First Light. Can You Fail to Pickpocket in 007 First Light?
Thankfully, 007 First Light doesn’t have a success or failure mechanic for Pickpocketing. All you have to do is distract the NPC and Watchers to get the Pickpocket option. Once the option is available, you can simply press it to steal the item. Once you have done that, you won’t be suspected or hunted.
This shows the expertise of Agent 007, who only commits to pickpocketing when he is absolutely sure that it won’t fail. So, have you tried pickpocketing yet in the game? Tell us about your experience in the comments section below.
