How to Get Diving Suit and Swim Underwater in Crimson Desert

In Short
  • Players can get Charter’s Diving Set and Charter’s Light Diving Set as DLC pre-order bonuses.
  • You can also buy Marine Charter's Diving Set and Marine Charter's Light Diving Set from Sulivan's Relic Exchange shop.
  • Charter’s Light Diving Set increases max breathing by +120, while Marine Charter's Diving Set increases it by +60.

Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown DLC not only expanded the already massive world but also added vast, fully explorable underwater regions. However, players need a diving suit to hold their breath longer underwater and peacefully explore the uncharted regions beneath the Great Ocean of Pywel. So, here is how to get a diving suit and begin swimming underwater in Crimson Desert.

How to Get the Charter’s Diving Set in Crimson Desert

The easiest way to get a diving suit was to pre-order the Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown DLC. This is because the pre-order bonuses for the new Crimson Desert DLC included Charter’s Diving Set for Kliff and Oongka and Charter’s Light Diving Set for Damiane.

Well, if you pre-ordered the Charting the Unknown DLC, here is how to get the Charter’s Diving Set in Crimson Desert:

  • Launch Crimson Desert and hit the pause button in-game.
  • Go to the Others section in the pause menu and select Add-ons.
  • Claim the Charter’s Diving Set for Kliff and Oongka and the Charter’s Light Diving Set for Damiane in Crimson Desert here.
  • You can then equip these diving suits from your inventory and then begin your underwater adventures.

Since the Helm and the Suit increase max breathing by +120, you can explore underwater freely for 4 straight minutes. In addition, the gloves and boots provide a +2% Swim Speed Multiplier bonus, so your swimming speed is increased by 4% overall as well.

How to Buy Diving Suit in Crimson Desert

If you somehow missed pre-ordering Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown DLC, don’t worry. Pearl Abyss didn’t lock the diving suits behind a paywall. While the Charter’s diving suits are premium, players can buy a standard diving suit, Marine Charter’s Diving Suit, from Sulivan’s Relic Exchange store. This is not the same NPC you can buy ships from in Crimson Desert.

So, here is how to buy a diving suit in Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown DLC:

  • Head to the Demeniss port.
  • Next, visit Sullivan’s Relic Exchange shop.
  • Select the Buy option, and you can purchase both Marine Charter’s Diving set and Marine Charter’s Light Diving set using Shattered Ancient Relics.
  • Kliff and Oongka can wear the Marine Charter’s Diving set, while Damiane can equip the Marine Charter’s Light Diving set.
  • Sulivan Relic Exchange store in Crimson Desert
  • Demeniss Relic Exchange in Crimson Desert
  • Buying Marine's Charter Diving Suit in Crimson Desert

Keep in mind that Marine Charter’s Diving suit only increases max breathing by +60. So, you can last underwater for around 2 minutes with this suit. Here is a list of all the diving items you can buy from Sulivan, along with their prices:

How to Swim Underwater in Crimson Desert

Players can freely swim underwater by pressing the Dive button once they are in the sea. However, you can only last for a few minutes underwater if you don’t have a diving suit equipped. So, equip either the Charter’s Diving Suit or the Marine Charter’s Diving Suit for your playable character in Crimson Desert, and then dive and freely explore underwater.

In addition to the diving suit, here are some of the best tips to extend your underwater exploration time in Crimson Desert:

  • Equip the Propulsion Breathing Device: The device can be found in a treasure chest in the Dead Coral Sea and extends the max breathing time by 600.
  • Enhanced Propulsion Breathing Device: Its blueprint can be found inside an underwater pyramid in the South Sea. After crafting, the device extends the max breathing time by 900.
  • Get the Ocean Drifter Mount: It can be found in a treasure chest in the South Sea and is used to swim faster underwater.
