The recent Minecraft snapshots for the winter update are filled with exciting additions, but one of the most interesting features is hidden in plain sight. The Chiseled Soulshale has entered the game with the face of a Singer mob associated with the Sift dimension. So, how do you get the Chiseled Soulshale in Minecraft? Here’s everything you need to know about this block and its future.
How to Get Chiseled Soulshale Block in Minecraft
Currently, there are 2 ways to obtain the Chiseled Soulshale block in the latest experimental editions for the Minecraft 26.4 winter update. You can either explore the Ancient Cities in Survival mode or use commands to add the block to your inventory. So, here’re all the details for the above two methods:
Loot Ancient City Chests
Chiseled Soulshale blocks can be found inside the loot chests scattered throughout the Ancient Cities of Minecraft. However, do note that these structures are home to the Warden in Minecraft, and they can eliminate you in just a couple of hits.

The Chiseled Soulshale in Minecraft has a 23% chance of appearing in these chests, which means you might need to open multiple of them to find the block. Remember that this method feels worth the adventure only if you want to be rewarded for the survival experience.
Use Minecraft Commands
If you don’t want to spend your afternoon tiptoeing around the Warden, use the Minecraft commands to spawn the Chiseled Soulshale blocks instantly. Simply have the ‘Cheats‘ option enabled for your world, and perform the following steps:
- Open the chat window in your world by pressing the ‘T‘ key.
- Enter the following command in the text box.
/give @p minecraft:chiseled_soulshale [<count>]
In place of count, you can enter the number of blocks you want without any brackets. Once done, press the ‘Enter‘ key to execute the command and obtain the Chiseled Soulshale blocks in your inventory.
What is Chiseled Soulshale in Minecraft
The Chiseled Soulshale is a decorative block with a dull green appearance that can remind you of the Warped Planks. Additionally, the block also features a carved face resembling the Singer mob from Minecraft Dungeons 2.

Unlike traditional decorative blocks and those of the Chiseled category, this one currently doesn’t belong to any block family. The primary purpose of the Chiseled Soulshale appears to be decorative, but the design has led players to speculate about the block’s connection to future updates.
Is the Chiseled Soulshale Connected to the Sift Update?
The Chiseled Soulshale might be a small and silent addition from Mojang, but its design surely acts as an Easter Egg to the upcoming Sift dimension in Minecraft.
Going through the naming trends of Mojang for all of their blocks and the Chiseled variants, there seems to be a Soulshale block in the Sift dimension that is equivalent to stone.

Well, the mysterious dimension is filled with colorful terrain and building materials. So, we can expect the green appearance of the Chiseled Soulshale to be connected to one of those terrain blocks, as we commonly see in the Overworld.
The carved face serves as another major clue, as it resembles the Singer mob in Minecraft Dungeons 2. This has led many community members to speculate that this block serves as a teaser for the inhabitants or the mobs in the Minecraft Sift dimension.
However, these theories are not yet confirmed by Mojang Studios. So, enjoy these with a grain of salt. What are your theories for the Chiseled Soulshale block in Minecraft? Tell us in the comments below.
